This Oklahoma State is lethal on defense, the offense will continue to improve, Chuba is looking better each game, have to get the passing game going better but this team is dangerous and has a lot in front of them!
I’m so happy for Chubba and glad to see him picking up steam each week. I think it shows a lot. IMO, depsite a great freshman seaosn in limited work behind Justice, teams still weren’t really prepared for him or focused on him. Coming into this season, after leading FOUR 2,000 yard rushers last year and just being insanely good, teams obviously are scheming to shut him down every game and have a lot of tape of him. Plus OSU having a somewhat limited padding attack( by some elite big 12 standards..) it makes it easier to clamp down on CH. so I think the fact that he is still averaging over 100 a game and has had nearly 100 on every game depsite the increased attention? It really shows a lot. I think while it might not be as fun to watch for some fans, it’s also a good sign that he is churning up the yards depsite not having so many long runs like he did last year. A lot of the criticism I heard last year was that his line was opening up such wide holes and all he was doing was proving to everyone what they already knew: he has track speed. Well I think this year he is putting that argument to bed. I didn’t agree with it entirely. Clearly he is more than a guy who breaks off long runs. You don’t rush for 2k on nothing but only long runs, but still...I think he is putting some good work on tape so far this year as far as NFL scouts are concerned. Because we know that they aren’t as concerned with eye popping numbers as they are with eye catching skills and pro level abilities. I mean ovivously he is getting drafted, even if he doesn’t run for another yard, but I’d like to see more glowing mock draft profiles on him. I expected them to be a bit better than I saw after last year. He is still #2 or 3 on almost all of the RB mocks I have seen, though Last thought...it is so interesting to me how little huge stats can correlate to scouting love lol, you know? Huge numbers do help..but every year we see backs who ran for less than 1k get drafted above guys who ran for 1300+ in a power 5. It’s just so much more nuanced than that, I know, but I also think that is why we see a lot of backs go late and have more success than earlier guys or go undrafted and have success. I can’t think of all of them...but someone like Phillip Lindsey. I mean how much more success can you have at a power 5 than he did lol!? And go undrafted!!? I feel like, especially for the RB position? Sometimes scouts are too obsessed with combine results and don’t spend enough time watching how someone actually plays the game. I’ve been studying a lot of game film combined with 40 and 100m times of available, and over the course of the last 20 years, you might be surprised how many of the guys who were clearly the fastest NFL backs didn’t have the fastest 40 times. Sometimes guys with relatively avergae 40 times don’t come close to showing their in game speed and ability. Former Big12 back Khalil Herbert, I think he is also going to be a guy who slips through the cracks, like he always has, and ends up walking onto some NFL teams training camp and then ends up as their leading rusher. Dude pops more long runs per carry than most anyone I’ve seen...gets no love. Even has a good year at shitty KU and then they ignore him and feed pooka. So glad he is getting his shot at v tech

The officiating of this game was very very poor. I feel that both sides got very bad calls. Refs didn’t seem to favor any team, it was just that the refs were blinder than shit. I don’t understand how they called that Kolar catch a complete pass. Toe out of bounds and he didn’t complete the catch until after. And the game ref seemed like he didn’t know what he was doing the entire time.
Chubba is great but Hall is better for a sophomore. Poor offensive play calling aka adjustments and penalties gave this one away to the Pokers. Clones left an easy 14 points on the deck. Cyclones play them again the Pokes get beat.
Yeah. Especially if you want to compete with Oklahoma's high scoring offense. Nobody has kept them under 30 points so far. Now with only two games left of the season it's looking like it will be the Sooners and Clones for the big 12 if they both win out.
@@krspy8849 they could beat both now. Hell, they almost did the first time around, but they blew their leads late in the game. You can only expect a young, rebuilding team to do so well in their very first conference games. A fat chunk of that team consists of Freshmen and Sophomores. They needed some experience. It was idiotic to even rank Oklahoma that high in the beginning of the season.
