RIP Jack Charlton. Irish and English Legend. Italia 90 was special and you won the World Cup with England. The only time they win it in 1966. RIP🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🏴🏴🏴
I wasn't born when England won the World Cup. I learned who Jack was when he was managing Ireland. Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give is that I was invested in their World Cup run even though I'm not Irish. RIP Jack Charlton. True English and Irish legend.
The 'Denis' Jack referred to in his story was Denis Law of course. Despite knocking seven bells out of each other on the pitch the two were actually good pals off the park.
Jack was responsible for some of the greatest sporting moments in Irish history. The summer of 1990 will never be forgotten by every Irish person that was there to enjoy it. Magical times. RIP Jack.
Sleep well big man. Brought a lot of joy to us Irish fans, when at the time, we hadn't much to be joyful about. Were always either very unlucky or robbed in qualifying tournaments before Jack came on board. We thank you for the memories !!!
As a 12 year old boy and a 45 year old man typing this.............Thank you so much Jack!! I was only a boy of 12 in 1990 but we need to respect all those young English players who claimed to be Irish because of grandparents etc. Without Ray, Andy, John, Mick, Jason, Mark, Chris, Kevin, Andy, Sean,David, Gerry, Alan, Tony, Rory, Liam, Johnny. I'm leaving out so mny legends and some are Irish guys but it was great times and I've a smile writing this. RIP Jack thank you x
This man won the world cup with England as a player and is still a bigger legend in Ireland than he is in England. Shows the impact he had in Ireland and how much people took him to their heart.
Hello Adam, my name's Brian and i was born and raised in London, but i've lived in Dublin for a long time and i remember the summer of Italia 90, when this country got to the Q F of the world cup, the whole country came to a standstill, no public transport, no buses, no trains, i will never forget it! And Jack did that, wonderful memories, R I P Jack.
