What a wonderful woman, and Jack, salt of the earth working class folk that we Irish can relate to, they are humble and relatable...proud to have seen Jack's Ireland at their best.
What a great piece of tv had tears in my eyes at the humor and the honesty of these wonderful people from the north of England from a Irish man living in Australia r.i.p jack and cissie
What a woman Cissie is.... Saw hardship and poverty, like many of her age and era a socialist, a woman with principles, pride and dignity.... His mother's son. RIP the giant that is Jack Charlton.
Great interview. Great characters. Fell in love with Cissie. Ah so sad to watch this today after hearing the news of Jackie's departure. What a man. We'll never forget how you brought us all along on the dream Jack. Italia 90 will live forever in our hearts. And god bless you Cissie - that goal WAS offside. We shouldn't have been knocked out by an illegal goal but by god did we celebrate the achievement for a long time after. Thanks for wonderful memories Jack. May you rest in peace.
Leeds United fan here, Can't say enough how devested we are at losing our Colossus!!!!!! Jack was a breed apart, he brought greatness and happiness to all he knew and touched in football, also a good fisherman, the ultimate working class hero, did great things for Ireland aswell. Never be the likes of him again. GOD KEEP YOU SAFE GREAT MAN!!!! 🙏💔.
@@andrewbutcher3391 Thanks Andrew 👍. I live near Sheffield and some of my mates are Wednesday fans, they are absolutely gutted aswell. MOT 💛💙💛💙🏴🇨🇮.......
@andrew chambers That's better pal, Jackie was never a nationalist, just a very honest pro, when managing Ireland I don't think he ever thought of betraying England for 1 minute, things like that where irrelevant to him 🏴🇨🇮🏴🇨🇮🏴👍
If Cisse had been born a lad we'd have ONE great football character, though luckily she was born a lass and added TWO more football characters, making the world a better place with THREE beautiful football characters x
What a great lady, easy to see how the Charlton boys became the men & players so widely loved & respected! Now they're together again. Rest In Peace Jack

My mum comes from ashington, cissie and her sister were her friends from schooldays, their homes backed onto mums, all the ashington people are just like cissie plus mum went into service just like cissie because that’s all there was, when my dad who was a good goalkeeper went to visit mums folks he had a kick about with both lads and said that bobby was going to make it as a pro, football was the passion of the people of the northeast that and the whippets, the Irish and the geordies are very alike in their attitude,
Seeing this again after so many years - you realise how special this is now -Jack was so sharp and very “Irish” and his mother was so proud of her sons . The late late show would love the likes of this now instead of the shite they do now with z list south dubs doing cookery and the likes ...
Jack was the archetype northern Englishmen. Growing up in a small village in the north of England and meeting many characters like Jack when my dad would take me to the pub. We don't get men built like this anymore. How would you having are lads stack tampons at the local supermarket. Now they say are archetype Englishmen is Mohamed from Bradford. What a shame. Us and the Irish ain't much different really when it comes down to it. It's just that tradition and culture is a dying ember.

@@anthonydixon1282 is that some variation of a geordie accent? He's the only person I've heard speak that way... The closest I can think of is Shaka Hislop.. He's from England /Trinidad & Tobago. I've just come across this.My dad's mum knew Cissie very well in the 60's.My nan lived on 4th row in Ashington.
Ashington , and Northumberland , running through her viens . Strong ,Tough , and Friendly People .
What an infectious lady. Everytime she laughed, I did. Wonderful woman. RIP CISSE AND BIG JACK!!
RIP big Jack and Cissie, both salt of the earth and she was right us Northerners are cut from the same cloth as the Irish!
There seems to be a bit of a misconception that all Irish people are working class and/or socialist - not the case.
@Brendan W Absolutely right.
But he never spoke to her for years because of her long-term, dreadful behaviour towards his wife.
The North of England is VERY similar to rural Ireland...a lot of those small towns where everyone knows each other...
There’s a lot of Geordies with Irish anscestry
What a woman Cissie is.... Saw hardship and poverty, like many of her age and era a socialist, a woman with principles, pride and dignity.... His mother's son. RIP the giant that is Jack Charlton.

Jack was always his Mammy's boy. She was much more fond of Jack than Bobby - because he did what he was told.

Pat Kenny Not universally liked but a great interviewer on Irish tv and particularly radio
He is an ok interviewer. A bit wooden
He’s currently on an Irish radio station Newstalk 106 fm in the mornings and very well briefed and very knowledgeable .
@@geoffbuckley4412 He is suited to radio. He has no ability to be spontaneous and adapt his questions to new information. Too wooden for tv
@@geoffbuckley4412 He's generally good on current affairs, is probably a bit stiff for the light entertainment stuff.
