I just subscribed to your channel as a medical provider I have taught people how to use crutches many times in the past. May I suggest a slight modification for you to consider? 1. UPSTAIRS - When you support your bad leg with the crutches and use the strong (good leg) to step up onto the first step. Instead of placing the crutches to either side of the foot on the "center" of the step. Have them place the crutches towards the front of the step or behind their centerline of gravity. The reason is that if they loose balance when standing up having the crutch in the center of the step makes it a balance tipping point. meaning they could either fall forward (preferable) or fall backwards (not good at all) When the crutches are placed at the back of their centerline and if they loose balance they can only fall one direction and that's forward. 2. When they go downstairs with both crutches and the bad leg the crutches should be say 2 inches before the edge of the step which will be forward of their centerline of gravity when they step down. If for any reason they loose balance stepping down with their good leg the only direction they will fall is backwards. Anyway I thought I would share this technique with you for what it's worth. respectfully, Terry

Thank you for these"how to" video's.I broke an ankle just 2 weeks ago and stairs have literally been my downfall. Yesterday I fell flat on my face and have soreness and bruising to show for my efforts to handling stairs. You give me info that I didn't get at the hospital and bone-doc's office. Cheers.

3/28/24 I am surprised at the lack of instruction from the medical field, so I am very grateful for you. I had surgery last week as I shattered my patella. I am 70 years old and fit, but my biggest fear is getting over a threshold just to stand on a porch or maybe to get in the shower in the future. I am so filled with anxiety about this and I’m not typically anxious but I don’t know which direction to go. I’m hoping you’ll also do a video on this. It just seems to be a little different from stairs, which I’m, also not navigating. If I have to go up the stairs, I scoot up and down up on my bum.

Hi thank you. I'm having difficulties with dizziness/weakness on right side/etc, I had a clean MRI with no contrast. I live abroad so communication is difficult and I'm wondering do you think the next step would be to get an MRI with contrast? Could a spinal issue cause this?
Thank you. Great content by the way really!

      @@Blobya oh my gosh🙏🏼I'm glad.
I just got permission to bear weight now on my operated foot (I broke my ankle). But it's so hard. Mentally and physically
And it doesn't help having the most unserious doctors ever😭 till this day I don't even know what I broke
But I won't back down. I can put weight on my foot. But stairs😭 I never realized how many stairs I actually had until this. Why is everything upstairs😭jokes aside. I'm glad you are well.
Last thing...do you have any tips that helped you along the way
