- We got the Team Associated Rival MT10 in the shop to do an unboxing, first run, initial thoughts and comparison to BRCC and Outcast 4S.
We test ran this RC on 3S.

@Rich Duperbash Thank you brother, much appreciated! This thing is a straight nut ball on 3S. Just took the Kaiju out on 6S and it feels like this on 3S😂🤣 Some really crazy machines. I think TA and Redcat have some hits on their hands.
Very thorough overview. Nice job! Look like the terrain was what made it hop into the jump since it was repeated.
@CCxRC Thanks Tony took me 3 days to film and edit it👍👍 Hard to think of every step for a video like this. I like the format but boy is it taxing😊 Got to agree, I also noticed it on the landings, very springy. I want to try it a few more times before changing out the shock oil.

I just picked up this truck last night. First battery pack through it, I snapped the front control arm. It snapped at the hinge pin. I just went out and purchased a complete set of RPM arms for $25. Also I purchased Arrma brand Velcro straps that are longer so the 3s battery can actually stay within the battery tray.
@Aaron Baird Was it a bad crash? I know some folks were thinking the plastics were updated since I bought it.
I do really like this rc truck and I got one for me to enjoy it’s so entertaining and very fun to drive and bash

I love that this thing is just a Helion avenge. Now I can buy parts again for my kids Helion!!
@AJ Green You have no idea how many people have said that to me. A lot of Helion owners were out parts support when it was discontinued. Sounds like TA is going to have to ramp up production.

Great little buggy. Very hard to break this guy. I did break and arm but it hit real had several times. The battery straps are a bit short for a 3s hard pack. The links on the stabilizer's pop out and the wheel nut covers are hard to remove. Breaks are way too strong. Having said all that.... It's still one of the best trucks for the money and is super fun to drive. Great review. Keep em coming. 👍

Hmmm seems like the kaiju is sharing some design trates with this truck as well. Team associated did an amazing job on the looks of this truck!
@Harlon David I was watching RC Guy Garages video last night on the Kaiju since he does some of the best close up shot and I have to agree. Need to see when I get it in person.
Looks like a nice truck and comes in at the same price as a Granite BLX 4x4. I'd like to see a comparison of the two wheelie machines but the TA does have three diffs which adds to the value and tune-ability imo. I would also imagine the radio on the Team Associated is better than the newer Granite too but I've only had experience with the STX2 (TTX300.) The Tactic TTX300 on previous Arrma versions is still hard to beat for rtr value.
@crimsonfancy That would be an nice battle. This may have a better servo too. But the Granite has those beefy ESC and motor. Man, that would be a great comparison!
It is the newest version of the hellion Avenger that Team Associated is now selling. From what I have heard and read all Hellion Avenger upgrades will work with this truck too. It looks like an awesome truck for the money.
I have one now one of the toughest trucks so own.

Does it have all sealed bearings like the Helion Avenge did? Wondering if Associated skimped on some things? I'm still impressed with that truck. (bashed it today again). I've only broken a couple axial drive shafts. All I do is jump it.

Yup, rubber sealed diffs. The bones of it is still the Helion.
Yes the Rival MT10 is direct competition with Arrma Granite 3S BLX both are standard 1/10 Monster trucks.
Got my Rival in Monday! I love this truck without even getting to really run it.. Grandson drives His Granite Voltage and me with this circling through the living rooms.. LOL. Saturday and warm weather can't get here soon enough!

i do recommend the Maverick Quantum Flux by HPI and the Redcat Racing MT10E Brushless MT or the ARRMA Granite BLX 4X4 MT
@Nelson Romel Tamayo I found the Redcat Kaiju to be a very good alternative. It's the bigger brother to this truck with loads of power.
You def need to get an MT8 if you have not done so already! It has quickly become my favorite basher even over my xmaxx and all of my arrmas

@Rc enthusiast. Thanks for watching! I got it in yesterday and been staring at the box all night😂 We got a good set of days with rain and cold following that so not sure when I will get out to run it. What happened with yours?
@@ReadySetRC keep an eye on the drive cups on the differentials going to the wheels. I managed to snap my front one in half on the front and someone else on YT mentioned that their rear one broke too. Maybe it's just bad luck from both of us. Hopefully. My aftermath :

I would have love to seen the comparison to the Granite instead of the Big Rock. Those two look more similar in size.

If anyone can tell me what upgrades can be made and where possibly to get them it would be greatly appreciated. I’m getting my first rc and I’m gonna start with the rival m10.
@MaR 716 There's not much. But the truck doesn't need much either. Team Associated sells some hop-ups for the shocks and CVA, RPM sells support arm replacements. I think that maybe it. It's a great little ripper and pretty durable especially the later releases.
Tires are lacking. Two weren't glued well, and they balloon like a crazy. The wheels are cool. The caps flew off the first use. It is fun with new tires.
@rich 4614 I actually like the tires on 2S. For me they hooked up well on 3S but balloon like hell and make it sound like a 3D helicopter on jumps😁 I put MX28's on and ran it on 3S but did not see much of an improvement. But I was running 80amp ESC and 3800kv motor.

I got one like this and it is a nice RC but too small than the expected 1/10 scale itself. setting aside the shortness, how i wish it is more made of metal gears diffs and cups and dog bones.

The Helion version was $199 less than a year ago. What makes this one $100 better?

@@nobodynoone3428 😂🤣 I don't know that Helion Avenge Brushless body was really nice. But I really like TA's take on it. Reminds me of the 8th scale version body. I loved that look. Wish they would bring it back.

That was the discontinued price. The Avenge was like $379 before that.

@FV JUSTQUIT I'm still feeling out the MT10 so I don't want to call it out just yet. The BRCC is one of my favorite 10th scale RC's so the MT10 is going to have to come hard to beat that.

@bobby brown Thank you! Completely useless. Some feel it helps the plastics. For me it's a nice way to clean the plastics😊 I believe TA has solved the issue with the plastics used on the arms but during this time of this video the best way to solve it was to buy Helion arms. They seem to be made of a better compound. RPM was not an option at this time.

It Will slow the shock shaft down. The bounce is stiff springs

Have You heard anybody having steering servo issues? Mine burnt out. Was ripping around the yard yesterday and all of a sudden it stopped working. (2nd time using it)Battery was fully charged. No steering and servo was wicked hot. If I unplug from receiver engine runs fine. Hook servo back in and nothing works. Motor will run in channel 1 and 2. The servo when all together gears will not turn. Took a part and internals had bad burn smell.
When I got this I unboxed and went through every screw. Half where loose. Had too align front wheels and motor gears wear not meshed.
So people when you get one double check it all out. You should for any RTR!!
I am going to order a better servo. I feel this servo in it is junk. Cheapo servo. Says 13g 1320mg reedy. I think it's around 170 oz @ 6v.
Not even on there website. Not that I could find any way. There's a 1514.
@Eric Smith No issues with the server. I did have to crank down the servo saver. The radius was a little wide on the first run. Sounds like you got a bad one. Did you try reaching out to TA? They should just send you a replacement since it would still be on warranty.

@@ericsmith3120 my servo lasted all of 2 batteries. dead servo took it bak to the odel shop the next day and he swapped it out for a 21kg .............just needs new tires now

@@ReadySetRC I meant where were you running this? Like which state? It looks slightly sandy, I love that ground the best for bashing. Im in Iowa, so lots of big gravel, tall weedy terrain, or someones perfect yard. Boring shit.
@Counting Sheeple Gotcha, this is out in New York. We got this type of terrain for days😆 I wish I had more hilly terrain. Pretty much flat out here. Most times I got to bring the ramps out.
It's kinda strange to me because now a days 1/8 monster trucks are starting to become rare. And 1/10 monster trucks are now more common in the rc monster truck world. Don't get me wrong 1/10 monster trucks are good because its easier to get to more places.
@Michael Weikal I hope that's not the case. In general 8th scale is my happy home. I've replaced so many of my 10th scales with 8th and larger that I could not see myself buying a bunch of 10th scales.
You don't want to thicken up the diffs. It'll wheelie even more. I have 5k middle, 3k front and rear.

Oh no, I was talking about thicken up the shock oil. Still running with stock weight. Think I'm going to run it like this until the weather changes.
Associated is better than this release. I was really bummed when i seen they pretty much re-released an off brand hobby town truck.

Traxxas maxx killer right here! The quality of associated for 250 less! Take that 250 u save from buying this and put the mamba x combo in there and for the same price as the maxx u got a 6s truck instead of 4s vxl junk. Better truck better electrics. Done amd done
@Jeff Bryner Oh man, dropping the hammer😂 Never owned the Maxx but this is solid. Still more of Helion backbone with AE electronics. I really like the tires and the wheelie bar change. Tires are really starting to surprise me. But to be honest not sure what the Kaiju is going to perform like but that may be the real comp for the Maxx plus I think they are closer in size.
@@ReadySetRC lol. Sorry i am a ae fan and i am glad to see this and the more basher type stuff in there line up so everyone can experience it not just the racers! When u talk about rc most people think of traxxas. While traxxas isnt bad they are flawed. I feel there quality is above like Walmart type rcs but not high quality like ae or tlr ofna tekno etc.. with that said i own 3 traxxas vehicles and they dont hold up to my sc10 when bashing. My sc5 and sc6.1 get beat up in racing cause i suck lol. I only broke a ball stud on the sc5 and i was running a traxxas servo on the sc6 and it failed not the associated product lol everyone raves about the maxx its only 4s and is outrageous in price for what u get so im tryingnto let everyone know what u can get in its place for the same price and be way faster, more durable and have data logging.😂😂 Thats what bashers want right? Lol sorry for my tangents 😁😁
