    I remember that you once sad that you adjusted the rear preload to the Max, that's why maybe you can easily slide the stand under neat the bike. With the stock setup you might had to lift up a bit the bike.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  8 років тому

      +ripmax333 I did adjust it but not to the max. Plus I have a taller rear tire. You can get it under the stock bike by just leaning it over on the side stand a bit.

    • @rushfanjames2112
      @rushfanjames2112 8 років тому

      I do not think preload has anything to do with the ground clearance height.
      Has to do with seat travel...

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  8 років тому

      +CRF Rider . If you turn the rear spring tighter it raises the seat height and also gives you more ground clearance !

    • @rushfanjames2112
      @rushfanjames2112 8 років тому

      ***** Ohh I see...I'm trying it tomorrow then. My seat sinks down quite a lot ... is that the same adjustment as setting your preload? and do you have to have no weight on the rear tire ? ( on bike stand ) to adjust it ?

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  8 років тому

      +CRF Rider yes it's the only adjustment that you can do on the stock shock. Put the bike on a stand with the rear tire off the ground. Break the top lock nut loose then you should be able to turn the spring clockwise with your hand and the bottom nut will turn with it . I turned mine quite a bit but not all the way .

    I just bought a track stand and it’s really hard for me to get my CRF250L up on it. Of course Google knows everything about me and so they suggested this video today because I’ve been searching for a better alternative. So I have two questions number one is this the one that you still have? Or is there a better one that you recommend? And also it doesn’t seem like the back wheel is off the ground enough to roll the wheel to clean the chain. Is it? One last thing, The salesman at cycle gear recommended against this style left because he said that the bars can bend? Appreciate any advice you could give me. 54-years old and I don’t feel like lifting my bike on the stand is the best plan

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  3 роки тому +1

      I still have it and still use it. If you want to raise the rear wheel you scoot it towards the rear of the skid plate and front for the front tire.
      Bars bend ? It will list a 250L but to won’t lift a big bike

      @@WOODZMAN Thanks Frank. The salesman had a crotch rocket and I don’t think he really understood my bike. I did use the track stand today and it was ok.

    You say you can change the oil with this stand. Are you able to access the oil plug and have a way to drain it into a container with this setup? I have a CRF250L with the Flatlands plate also and was curious about this.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  6 років тому

      It don’t work trying to change the oil because as you mentioned, you can’t get to the drain plug and there isn’t a place for the drain pan. I just change the oil with it on the ground and hold the bike level to check it.

    Received my HC2 a couple days ago. My 250L still 100% stock but was able to fit the stand under the bike at lowest setting and tilting the bike. I ordered before I got the bike thinking I'd be doing some of the work on this bike. Thanks
    At 220# myself, would that be a reason I might want to tighten the spring clockwise?
    Now, that's it. Lights out. Thanks.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  8 років тому

      +Joe-n-Tex yes adjust the spring and you will be set. Clockwise . Mine works but I do have in leaned over in the kick stand when I slide the lift stand under it. Then I stand my bike up straight.

    Can you measure and tell us how thick is the metal on the top plate? Do you think it will bend very easy if to much weight gets put on a corner?

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  8 років тому

      +Larry Hawkes it's pretty strong . It's 1/8" steel

    Thanks for the review
    I am thinking about buying this to replace my cheap rubbish stand i bought off of ebay.
    The ebay one raises the bike way too high, and i have to lift the bike onto it to get it underneath.
    When on the stand the bike is also very wobbly and feels unstable. Does this stand still wobble a bit? im guessing they all will slightly, especially if not on even ground.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  8 років тому

      +Boris theBlade there is some wobble but I think with a list stand, they will all do that. I do have to tilt my bike on the side stand to slide the stand under it but it's pretty simple.

      Thanks a lot.
      Does the stand feel stable enough to complete all tasks you need it to or are there some where there is a bit too much movement?

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  8 років тому

      +Boris theBlade I do it all on mine but do have a Flatland Racing skid plate and that gives it a wider flat surface to sit on.

    How do you fix flat if your out on road with no stand? Lay bike on side? Is it a pain in a..,?

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  7 років тому

      +Sid Shelton You can but if you have a tree around, you can tire a rope from the tree to the handlebars, have the bike on the kick stand, then pull the bike on to the kick stand until the rear tire comes off the ground. If it's the front tire you would do the same but weight the rear of the bike so the front comes off the ground.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  6 років тому +1

      I’m not positive, it depends on how high the frame of your 150 is from the ground. It worked good on my sons CRF150F

      You can measure the height of the bottom of the frame then look at the specs and see what the minimum height is
