    If you put the bearing in the freezer for a few hours and put the aluminum housing in the oven not more than 250 degrees the bearing should fall right in.
    Thanks for your video 👍

      Thanks Adam.. That is absolutely perfect.. Thank you for the information and I'm sure you just saved someone a ton of extra time and less risk of damage to the new bearing. 👍✌️

    Well, after hearing the reason as to what you mention on the vibration on your pilot ( and after replacing the half shafts) I concluded this is the exact issue I'm dealing with a 03 Honda Element. Basically same construction as the Pilot. At speeds over 50mph on the Element, while turning left a vigorous vibration would occur and I bet the bearing has alot play because of the applied load being generated on the right hand side of the vehicle. This was a great tutorial and the step by step process. Really do appreciate you making this video.

      Just purchased Vue with V6 Honda. Front frame mounts were rusted, had replaced mounts installed, slight vibration at 45 -50 mph. Thought might be axles being out of alignment, due to rusted mounts. Didn't realize there was an intermediate shaft bearing, thanks for the heads up 💡

    Any chance you have the part numbers for everything, so I can order what I need?
    I have a 03 honda pilot that is in dire need of the intermediate shaft bearing to be replaced...

      I'll list them in the comments. 👍 The bolts are optional , but if you've worked on a Honda older then 5 years , then you can expect a sheared bolt 🔩

    Trying to find one at an auto parts store but nobody can find one. 06 and up whole assemblies from 80$ why can't someone besides honda make one for a 03-05?! My pilot has 316k miles on it so I was trying to go as cheap as possible. Thanks for the video. Guess I'll be buying a bearing and seal

    Please help ! Need to know how to pull the intermediate shaft ? should i loosen the bearing support on the engine block and pull both the intermediate shaft and the passenger cv axle at the same time or pull the cv axle first and then the intermediate shaft ? Not sure if they both have circ clips but it looked in the video as if the intermediate shaft did not have a circ clip on the end that went into the transaxle unless Danny G took it off after pulling it - though why pull it since it would have to be reinstalled any way. Thanks Garry

    • @Dannyglaze
      @Dannyglaze  Рік тому

      Hello Garry... You pull the CV axel off.. it pops right off the intermediate shaft. Then you can remove the support bolts and pop out the intermediate shaft.. hopefully this information helps you.

    Hey I'm having some issues with my odyssey. It sounds like a growling noise coming from middle/passenger side of vehicle. It happens at around 20 mph and up. All suspension is tight. I have the right axle and carrier bearing bracket out. How can I tell if this bearing is bad?

    • @Dannyglaze
      @Dannyglaze  3 роки тому

      With it on the vehicle unfortunately not really accurate.. when I had said in the video " we have virtual replaced everything" except the intermediate shaft. When I had finally removed the shaft, after removing the bearing, that's when I knew , If you see in the video the play that was on the bearing..
      Sorry for the long answer to your question but unless you remove your passenger side CV shaft and try to see if you have wiggle or play on the intermediate shaft(which mine did not ) there is no way I had found that was the obvious sign.. it's not easy like knowing when you have a bad wheel bearing. Like I said if you have replaced your CV shafts already and still have the issue, chances are it's the bearing on the intermediate shaft.. hope this helps you ✌️

      Did you solve this on your odyssey? I have something very similar on my pilot. I thought it was tire noise until I replaced the tires.

    I’m starting to think this is my issue. I’ve swapped the passenger CV axle 3 times and writhing 5 miles I start getting vibration and rumble. It’s especially noticeable when making left hand turns. Do you have a list of part numbers for an 03 Pilot?

    Is it very possible to do this without a press? Can I use basic hammer to punch out the bearing and punch it back in?

    • @Dannyglaze
      @Dannyglaze  3 роки тому

      Using the way Adam stated would be the safest way to do it with a hammer.. putting the aluminum housing in the oven along with freezing the bearing. Just be very careful that you don't damage the bearing.. good luck .

    Will this procedure work on a 1997 Honda CRV

    • @Dannyglaze
      @Dannyglaze  3 роки тому

      Hey Derek.. looking at the intermediate shaft for a 97 cr-v I'd say the procedure looks the same. My recommendation would be to look up the replacement parts for that shaft. You can probably use this video as a guide for removal and installation of the new parts. If you have a local Honda dealership near you , they would be able to pull up the parts list , it would look similar to the picture out of my service manual that you see in this video.. hope this helps you ✌️

      @@derekwilson8011 Hey quick question.. when you just said howling.. my 04 element had that same annoying howling noise.. did you change your dual pump fluid in the rear? If not that could be the issue, if you did recheck the level of the fluid on a level surface.
