- Aging males like Clyde the ocelot are giving hope to a new generation. Numbers in South Texas are dwindling. But conservationists are breeding the ocelot in captivity in the hopes of releasing newborns when the time is right. The breeding resulted in a birth earlier this year.
Clyde's a thick boy lol he's living good 🙂
Such a good boy
When i was a kid in the 70's my dad had a Ocelot he got from a friend of his before i was born. It was a great cat. Before you consider one as a pet I will tell you the shit that those cats produce has the nastiest smell shit could have. He kept it in the basement and so it would crap down there and everyone could smell it. It was horrible. I remember we had a regular domesticated cat too and we did keep them separated but when the ocelot saw the other cat she would chase her and that cat would jump on the kitchen counter then to the top of the refridge to avoid being caught. A couple times she'd bypass the counter and jump to the top of the refridge from the floor. That ocelot certainly would have made a killing if she ever caught her. She never did.
Dude talks to the ocelot exactly how I'd talk to him. *"CLyDeCLyDe ThassaGudBoiCLYdE!"* looool
Such a beautiful animal. Never new they were living in my state. Need to give them a huge sanctuary.
We have them in my area. And they come around our house. We leave food for them and they are not afraid of us. I will protect them. They are my friends. My Property, my Rules. Trespass? And people are in trouble here in the Southwest. Including Forest Rangers or any other folks.
I bet you don’t have a rodent problem, we do same with coyotes in New York lol
Save the giraffe 🦒 and cheetah 🐆
We are fortunate to see many of these animals exist which may not exist anymore at some point in the distant future. We definitely have an impact.
Thanks to everyone doing what they can dedicating their time to conservation efforts.
The way he said "good boy" made me laugh
Beware of ocelots. They're capable of double cross.
Revolver...ocelot?
That cat look like a mini jaguar
Ocelots are proud creatures. They prefer to hunt alone.
am sure most readers didnt get the reference haha
Lol did an ocelot tell you that? They’re manipulative buggers arent they? 😂
@@LemonKushDeadside they don't have to tell you that you can just watch them
You're pretty good.
Funny untill the TV show Archer never knew they were small cats .
From Austin didn’t know these Cats where here as well! Man what a handsome vicious kitty 🐱
He's so beautiful 😍❤😘💕
Now bring Snake with .45 and Single Action Army for Ocelot
It seems as if Clyde is the "Burt Lancaster" of ocelots, more or less.
Such a beautiful boy.🥰👍🏻
I would love to help with this! I want to see more ocelots!
Clyde might be better named "Bubba" with that Texas belly he's got...
Jojjj jesu slatki..kako joj je ime
That’s a big ocelot
Pretty good
Ah yes they have tamed it with just 4 raw salmon
Damn boy he THICK
running creepers
who is also viewing this after watching archer?
Looks like Babou put on weight.
Here kitty kitty
How could you run down an ocelot!!
Because most animals don’t understand how dangerous cars can be, so they run out in front of them while crossing the road.
1:32 he like a cat but wild or i said dwarf leopard
Where can I buy one I really want to get one.
You can't. They're protected species due to extremely low, dangerous numbers.
release them in my orchard, we have a serious squirrel problem. Funny how humans project their ideals and hopes on a cat that doesn't give a rats ass.
Man stfu kill Squirrel's because you're an idiot. They need to be released into Mexico were they belong
@@conEso916 texas and mexico are the same habitat
@@Junkmailcrusades I know it so is Califas and many other Murica states but they don't get it.
Cat lovers everywhere, their numbers are dwindling! Quick lets make it legal to adopt these cute wild cats as pets and domestic them like their non-spotted cousins
That would be nice but most people don't have the money or capacity to take care of them and if you don't get them when they're a newborn they can become violet and can be lethal but if people wear a neck guard and safety goggles around it they should be ok other than that it's about the size of a Maine coon fully grown
Let Chinese do the breeding. They did great on Pandas.
However... sadly. Pandas are slowly becoming human dependent.
Can I have a pair as pet?
No
Clyde
Where can I purchase
chinatown
lil porkah 😂👍
stop removing animals from yours original habitat, south america in case
McDonald and KFC diet
Needs a diet
Ocelots are not bred as pets, you cannot tame them.
You can tame any cat
@@ahmedbabiker6562 That's really not true.
Needs to be on diet
He's 13, which is like 90 for an ocelot. He's probably the oldest one in the world, or at least very close to it, I think they know how to raise them properly.
@@Just_Pele he's obese
Lazy hellcat.
Dwindling population. Now, can we stop "fixing" every stray found outdoors? Otherwise cats in general will also become endangered.
There's a big difference between a wild cat species and a domestic cat, dude. Housecats aren't going extinct any time soon. And feral housecats are a very destructive invasive species, so they should be prevented from breeding as much as possible.
Then by the same logic, we should sterilize the human homeless population. Nothing says we care about something quite like "Nah, just cut his balls off and drop him off somewhere."
So much compassion and love.
Edit: not just the homeless, since even the domesticated humans are just as invasive and destructive.
@@12Prophet As unfortunate our position is as humans, we are as much capable of helping the ecosystem as we are with destroying it, for that very reason we are trying to reduce the stray cat population. Stray cats have, as a mistake on our part, been introduced as new predators to the American ecosystem as they kill birds and small animals endemic to this part of the world. If we allow these strays to breed uncontrollably, we can see a sharp decrease in animal populations, risking endangerment or extinction. We love our furry friends and it’s understandable that we wouldn’t want them to get hurt, but we also have to realize the impact they can cause to the environment if left unchecked.
@@Panda-Paku *sigh* All that taken into account, I still don't think sterilizing every single cat that's found will be a good thing. I have faith in nature, not humans. I know there are humans that mean well... But I fail to see how sterilizing a species will pan out as a good thing. Naturally I don't want any species to go extinct, and I really don't like the notion of sacrificing one (again, every single stray that's captured, as well as domesticated ones) to save other species. It's just immoral. Cats are predators. They are meant to hunt. I bet everyone would feel very differently if the animals could speak our own language. I just see it as cruelty, plain and simple. My little ones will never have kittens because of this stupid trend. They'll never get to be mothers.
I promise I'm not meaning to sound rude about all this. But my mind can't be changed on this. I think it's sick and twisted. Truly. And I feel that way toward all animals that have the chance for offspring stolen from them. Their robbed of a main driving force in life. Thousands of generations, and now it ends with them. It's nothing but saddening.
@@BackyardGuillotine Let me get this straight so I don't assume incorrectly... Is it your belief that animals do not care whether or not they have offspring? It would be quite an arrogant thing considering humans can only go by inferring from the animals body language and context. We can't directly ask them and understand a response. But to assume that they do not care about having offspring would be the exact type of arrogance that I can't stand about most humans. It's the same type of "point" that overzealous religious types use to describe animals. That humans are completely different, and therefore share none of nature's traits with animals. Animals hurt, long for and suffer just as we humans do. To call that projection is only justifying my lost faith in humanity.
So I hope that I misunderstood what you meant.
