My late mother and grandparents were all Welsh and fluent Welsh speakers. Sadly, my mum never taught me Welsh as a child but I heard it spoken regularly by family members and so picked up a few words and expressions. Now, in my mum’s and grandparents memory I’d like to become fluent. My mum would be so proud!!

I'm a native Arabic speaker, and have never been to Wales, and have no practical reason to learn it aside from pure curiosity and my devotion to the principle of keeping ancient tongues alive. I am rooting for this beautiful language (and all other endangered languages, like Assyrian) to flourish! All I need now is to somehow find a Welsh person here in Cascadia to teach me...

As a Welsh American this is phenomenal, thank you for taking the time to compose a brilliant layout and structure to help learn an ancestral language to carry on and be proud of. A wonderful tool indeed. Many thanks!
Being dangerous to begin with in small phrases it was a true pleasure having the opportunity to visit the beautiful country of Wales were family roots were planted. Wish more Americans would have the same passion to learn their heritage and ancestral habits. Could be a much better "American melting pot" if folks took the time for such endeavors.

For the longest time I thought English is predominant in Wales because of the English names of Welsh clubs (eg Newport county, Cardiff City and Swansea) and players (eg Gareth Bale and Ian Rush). I've been studying Russian for 2 1/2 years at university, and I use your techniques to remember words, because often, words don't have connections with the languages I speak (French and English). I'm most likely to remember greetings in Welsh, many thanks to our Russian spy being bored in the morning!

Thank you very much for this excellent podcast to learn Welsh; this is my first lesson in Welsh, I am very glad to say my first sentences in Welsh.
"Adishatz" from Pau, in Bearn, a tiny town twinned with Abertawe(Swansea), Adishatz means Hello an Goodbye in our gascon dialect.
When I will be in Swansea I could say a few sentences in South Welsh.

Brilliant, I love your lessons. Diolch.
I know a little bit of Welsh, my Dad was Welsh, my husband is Welsh and my Father in law is a fluent in Welsh.
I've always wanted to learn Welsh, but I was brought up in Yorkshire,so it was difficult as my Dad wasn't fluent. These lessons are perfect for me.
I am going to share this to my friends on Facebook. x

I am a retired 62year old Paramedic from Cwmbran in South Wales. Always wanted to learn Welsh but never found the time, Shift work, raising Family and renovating homes, but now retied I have plenty of free time and thought 'Well, you're never to old to learn'...or am I? I listened to the first 'Omnibus edition' and found the reaching method both refreshing, novel and effective! So, I am going to give it a go, Dioch yn fawr! (or should that be just 'Dioch'?)

What a pronunciation this language has! I loved it... I heard this language last night watching The Crown series and I fell in love with the Welsh language!!! What I found funny here is that the way to say "goodbye" it's writing form (Nos da) exactly how it is literally means in Spanish "[he,she,it,they] gives us" hahaha and the pronunciation is exactly like the Welsh language! Funny fact that I thought I should share :)

Gosh! Thank you sooo much for creating this content! I'm brazilian and I always find Wales a beautiful country, with a lot of culture and beauty. And now I wanted to learn welsh because one of my character ( I write storys ) is a welsh girl and I think its important to learn and be more with the character. And second, now I will have 4 langueges on my curriculum : portuguese, english, español and welsh!
    Thanks for the lessons!
