@@RapYouCanUnderstandwhy do u think he doesn’t change his style to be more offensive? Daton fix hasn’t tried to improve his game in years. He’s not as hungry as some of these guys to me
When is Dayton Fix going to continue trying to score and wrestle these entire matches?? I mean it’s just ridiculous that a guy who is this talented stops trying to score and just hold on. I am just tired of it and don’t want to even watch him anymore because of it.
Stop waiting for it to happen. He's just simply not dynamic enough against long, fast guys or guys with good head/hands defense. He has nothing to offer from the outside and hits nothing above the waist in close. He's got in-close tie-ups with straight-on below-the-waist attacks. That's it. If those are off the table, he's stuck waiting for the other guy. If he had a Russian tie/foot sweep or something else above the waist, or if he could create any sort of angles to hit something from distance, he would be an Olympic champion.
He is the perfect wrestler in terms of speed, strength and athleticism. He just can't generate offense against high level guys. He's a counter guy, but would love to see him develop an unstoppable attack.
Just goes to show parents they don’t need to hold back their sons 1-2 years if they’re super talented, hard working and smart. Guys like Blaze have proven especially recently they can beat guys who are 8-9 years older than them, who are multiple time National Tournament Finalists and Senior Level Medalists. The future of USA is extremely bright.
@@Freydale I think he could have be just as successful if he wasn’t. He’s won 4 and is on his way to winning 5. I think the amounts of his NIL are exaggerated. Now if he played Football for PSU and had this level of success then yes absolutely.
@@Seuspesos he was 17 at Olympic trials in the spring. He's 18 now. Not sure when his birthday is but that's a reasonable "hold back" in my opinion if you even wanna call it that. he's just at the upper end of his grade age wise instead of the lower end. I was the same way with a July birthday. Now if you told me he was born in January, different story
I’ll never understand why nobodies like hating on successful people. Why not highlight Blaze accomplishment. What about Nashon Garrett and Seth Gross, why not comment on them “blowing.” 💀
@@xzjayz7925 Because that's Daton's MO and has been since he went to Stillwater. Extremely talented and yet refuses to let it fly against good opponents and ends up losing matches he could have won had he actually put forth an offense. Not commenting on Nashon and Seth is because they weren't relevant to the title of this video. As far as Blaze goes he wrestled out of his mind during the trials but that doesn't negate Fix's coming up short yet again. Just my opinion.
@@birdman9043 I'm not sure about that. When he actually wrestles and doesn't stall he's phenomenal. The problem is that he locks it down against good opposition and stalls most of the time. He's one of the more frustrating wrestlers for me to watch.
Datons literal game plan for that match was a to do absolutely nothing. Just hold center and hand fight. He didn’t attempt one committed attack the whole match.
The ref was trying his best to destroy the action. The constant whistling, to stop the action, which is designed to create more action, makes no sense. It is really hurting wrestling.
@MateoCruz-zu4il he's had soo many opportunities but always played it safe when it matters most. He might beat Ben askrens UFC record if he does mma and that's not a good thing😭
I'm glad blaze took the match. I'm all for aggressive hand fighting... But the relentless clubbing was kind of ridiculous in my opinion..... Let's see some actual wrestling skills
I hate refs. Blaze put on the clock, then right after Daton controls centre with collar tie, tries a shot which is downblocked, controls centre again with collar tie and immediately gets his first passivity warning. I swear the referees are your second opponent in wrestling now. Can't stand it.
When the other guy is opening up to be on the attack, that’s a perfect time for Fix to grab a leg and kill some time. Blaze earned the win though. He nearly had the first take down and if he pushed Fix out at 3 seconds it would have been that clearer.
you literally couldn't write a more daton fix performance. he should not have lost this match. blaze is as legit as they come but there is absolutely no reason fix couldn't have won this match. his biggest obstacle is himself
Shot clock doesn’t always make sense. Blaze gives up the point on the shot clock and then Dayton fired an attack right after and ref hits him for passivity.
I'm so happy blaze won. I think Fix is a nice guy and all, nothing against him personally, but I can't stand to watch him wrestling. He is not entertaining in any way and doesn't really do the sport good, especially representing us on the national level. 99% defense versus 1% offense.
Second time i have watched this and that Fix is a dirty wrestler. Those ties are literal punches to the neck/head with an open palm. I'm all for heavy handed wresting but that is ridiculous. Hard snap? Sure. But just slapping in hard to tie up is shitty. Glad he lost. Didn't make any serious attack or shot, just slapped and hand fight the whole match.
how Tf was that a step out at the end they are so obviously grounded?!?!?! like if thats a step out then what about the scramble earlier in that match, that should have been a step out too then
Fix has lost a few matches he never should have. Every now and then you just have an off day. Fix lost to Nick Suriano - a lot of people say it was the ref. Fix also lost to MArcus Blaze. Blaze is no slouch but Fix would beat him 9 out of 10 times all day long - again - an off day.
I couldn't wait to see this match... until I realized I've already seen it 100 times.
These high school kids are no joke...much respect
These young guys coming up are studs.

Gotta love the obligatory 2+ minutes of review time added on a Daton Fix match
Lol at Gilman chucking the challenge cube right into the ref
How has Fix regressed since Taylor took over?

easy game when you're wrestling 2 vs 1
Where is Blaze going to college?
Wherever he want
Ohio state , pennstate , Michigan, or Purdue
Thought it was Purdue?
Arkansas Little Rock
@tombystander his brother is at Purdue too
what did gilman say to blaze?
The ref was trying his best to destroy the action. The constant whistling, to stop the action, which is designed to create more action, makes no sense. It is really hurting wrestling.
Blaze, Forrest, Liledahl and Duke are unlike any high schoolers I have ever seen. Look out Div 1 wrestling. Here they come.
3 out of 4 to Penn State. Crazy
Stall match of the century

David Taylor watching that match intently, probably scoping out Marcus as a possible recruit.

yeah stall the entire match and get 2 gift points, amazing performance
Blaze’s body/build pound for pound is the finest in the world-he’s kicking ass and will win everything over the next few years…please go to Iowa!!
How is he even an;e to stay healthy going this hard all year?
Fix clearly shouldve had unsportsmanlike after telling Blaze to shut up after he got visibly pissed at fixs handfighting.
