Loomis is legend! The people there are really helpful and will do whatever they can to fix you up with what you need. They get professionals in there as well as ordinary folk and they will give you advice if they can about what you might need if you're not too sure.
And it is ALWAYS busy. They do a good trade and for a good reason. It's brilliant having a proper hardware shop to use where you can actually see what you need, even take down the old bit you need replacing and say I need this, which is difficult online. Cannot recommend them enough
Loomis are amazing!! Could not agree more. Everything you could ever possibly want.
Such happy memories of staying with my grandparents on Wilberforce Road, off Upperton Road. They went to a church on Narborough Road and had an allotment down towards Kingsway.thank you
Ah yeah I know it all so well! Times have changed but the memories live on.
It's great seeing different parts of Leicester again. Thank you.
no problem, I love looking at places like this, certainly more to come!
My friends used to live in one of these houses - we had a party one night and one of us was drunk in the back garden and actually fell into the river. Very funny, and yes he was OK, if a bit cold.
LOL, it is weird how close those gardens are to the river! And from what I can remember there was no wall or anything at the back of the garden, just straight in!
Oh wow, lived of Narborough Rd back in 1989 to 1991, Ashleigh Rd, was brilliant back then, but like everywhere it has it's hayday then decline, thank you for some good memories
It has certainly changed a lot. I can't really remember this particular area back in early 90's but I can from early 00's and it's a different world now
Loving your content 👌👌👌
Thank you so much! That means a lot!
Drive down there often on my way to the gym and Fosse Park. Thanks for the video!
no worries, funny little area down there, I love it! so much history
@@leicesterliving I love all this urban exploring. I’d love to do it myself!
@@caitlynharrison2806 It's really interesting to do it! I wish I could do it full time to be honest!! LOL
Were you in Leicester way back when Bede Park used to be a railway scrapyard sort of thing. It was really ugly around that part of the city. Despite what people might think of the West End now it's actually a lot better than 40 odd years ago. A long time I know but still
I’m afraid it was before my time, I was born in 1983 and didn’t really get to know this area of town until the last 15-20 years.
I am in Braunstone. So much history in Leicester. Thanks for putting the flag up British
I love Braunstone!!! I sell quite a lot of houses there, I live in Braunstone Town. 😊
Ive always said if someone turns that old bridge in a restaurant like underneath and a rooftop terrace bar restaurant would be a great business but would need a lot of money to turn it into onr first
That would be amazing!! Like you say, would take a lot of money but defo something that could be done
I've lived in Evington for years and this site has been uninhabited for years! yes, it defies belief that there is a housing shortage and these properties are empty and have been for years as long as I can remember!!! outrageous!!!!
It is madness. Think this comment was meant for my other video but nevertheless, you’re still spot on Gary!
I remember growing up in the west end in the 80s, (western road) before it became a nasty, violent, dirty shithole
I bet it was amazing in the 80’s!
Lots of family are from around Fosse Road and Narborough Road originally and it must be so different.
I remember it in the 80's and it wasn't all good. I don't see it as that violent either. There is sometimes bother or rowdiness on weekend nights but that has calmed down since there are less bars open there now. And anywhere with bars is going to get some rowdiness to go with it. Often it's people from outside the area causing drunken nonsense though.
