Figure Note:
Stop-Motion Transformation of Devil Saviour DS-03 Compresor. Another solid entry for this combiner. I say this despite the fact that the hip broke. I think their springs are too rigid - but I also think there was a mold flaw in the part that broke. I hear the same thing happened to Emgo, so I suppose be cautious about that.

Production Note: As some of you would know by now, the hip broke during my first transformation back to vehicle mode. I managed to cobble the hip together with a bolt, but it meant there was no ratchet for the hip joints during the production. Hence the putty on the hips to keep them from flopping. I imagine I’ll get replacement parts from ShowZ/DS eventually, but I wanted to forge ahead making the video, particularly because everything else fell through this week (Cang Toys Firmament got lost in the mail, so they have to resend it. XTB Andras shipped Thursday from TCP but won’t be here until Monday.) I think it worked out pretty good and frankly it made the hips a LOT easier to rotate for the stop motion.

If you want to follow along, I recommend skipping to the speed run and using the Chrome plugin called "Frame by Frame for UA-cam". It turns your , and . keyboard keys into single-frame movement keys. Every step of the transformation is documented in the frames of the video, in what I consider to be the best sequence. With minimal rubbing and minimal parts-parking.

Sorry. I don't know how widespread the issue is. The other hip doesn't even have stressmarks, so I suspect some of the molded parts ended up with a bubble in them or something that weakened the part.

Yeah, it seems these Devil Saviour toys are just over-engineered (and oversized) 3rd Party versions of legends class RotF Constructicons/Devastator!!

Cang Toys Firmament is shipping now - eta... 2 weeks? Who can say. Sadly only the three figures have ever been shown, so I'm a bit nervous they won't finish the combiner, but here's hoping!

It's pretty unfortunate how many samples of this figure have broken hips--especially since it seems like the best looking and engineered of the DS figures so far.
Did you just re-cement your figure's leg into place with putty, or is that part of a larger DIY repair?
