Production Note: What an enormous pain in the ass this was. Thanks to Robert Zalkind for dropping by for the shoot! I had to sit Split on a black beanbag since he can’t really stand. It’s the same wrist rest I used for Studio Cell (Unicron) to cradle the planet mode. I could have made a REALLY long video, but I decided to hurry back to vehicle mode and dispense with a normal speed run. I set up the final combined reveal to coincide with the dramatic moment in “Pride Before the Fall”. I kept the hurry-up for Split to get back to truck mode from the original video, since Split had already gotten enough time as it was going from truck to robot.
Viewing Note:
If you want to follow along, I recommend skipping to the speed run and using your , and . keyboard keys to advance by single frames. Every step of the transformation is documented in the frames of the video, in what I consider to be the best sequence. With minimal rubbing and minimal parts-parking.
Music: The music is by Ethan Meixsell - www.ethanmeixsell.com
Songs: “Demise”, “By the Sword”, “Angel of Mercy”, “In the Shadows”, “Rise”, and “Pride Before the Fall”
What a nightmare. A gorgeous nightmare, but a nightmare none the less. Fantastic work on this beast, would love to see a MS Devy supercut as well
I can tell how painful this video must've taken to make due to the extremally quick and sudden transitions between each character. It's pretty obvious that you just wanted to get this done and over with. I don't blame you tho cuz these transformations are super painful, plus I can't imagine how painful it is to do it IN STOPMOTION and still have it this clean. Awesome job!
It's a supercut from previous videos. I only shot the group rotations and the final combination yesterday.
@@peolesdru That makes a lot of sense
I mean it's not like I shot all the transformation all over again. I suppose the cuts would have been smoother, but it would have been a huge waste of time.
@@peolesdru Oh yeah no I totally understand that
@@peolesdruyou don't say. You'd be bald by the time you finish the vid cuz you would have ripped off all your hairs
The easiest time I've ever seen Split (AKA Mixmaster) being transformed.
Your skill and patience are on a different level and after seeing you do these guys and that Alien Attack Megatron I really have to say...
Bro, you okay? Cause I'd need therapy after transforming them but to do it as stop motion too?
You alright?
I heard a lot of people how much of a transforming hell Devil Savior was, and this video makes it super clear. You went trough that for us. Amazing video!
Split is really the worst one. The rest are teddy bears in comparison.
You deserve a medal for this. And maybe a a stiff drink.
I can't believe you did it. You're a machine.
If only the movie characters that comprised Devastator were unique bots and not just drones. Oh well, it's still a terribly beautiful work you pulled off here, Peolesdru! Keep up the awesome work!
This kind of work need to be applauded.
really cool to see just the combiner version in this video, i really like it
Oh man, the most elaborate combiner ever and it's all for that fugly ball swinging aberration from that cluster of a movie. *...Sigh* Ah well, it's still quite something to behold them all doing the thing in stop motion.
One of my favorite in universe details about movie devastator is that it walks on all fours because it’s so physically painful for them to combine and movie around in that form that walking like a gorilla is the only way they could move themselves
Mass, as well. Transformers as a rule have a loose relationship with physics, but even at Devastator's size it's just not feasible to have a bipedal design. I love how lumbering and slow he was, too. There was a LOT of transformer to shuffle around.
just imagine how hard to transform these and do a stop motion of it haha great stuff mate... and ya advance congratulation on reaching 10k... =)
Yes, hats off to you, mate.
*flashbacks of Split* Can't wait for my Scrapper to come. I really look forward to getting this guy all together and then putting him next to the SS Dev, which I don't have complete either and just seeing what more money can do sometimes :P
I have the same set and some of them are challenging to transform. Some of the instructions are not clear. I appreciate your videos, you make it look fun and easy lol
Split in particular is an unholy pain in the ass.
Its got 420 views right now. Its a beautiful thing
Holy Jesus I can imagine the struggle 😫 true dedication to your subscribers 💯💯
This maybe your best one, very impressive
It's certainly the longest!
OH SHIT.
Holy crust thats a big Boy.
And Goddamn them Transformations complex.
This is a masterpiece, very cool video snd transformers
*Constructicons, UNITE!*
Cool video mister peolesdru
Skids:Woah look at this mother😳
Mudflap:Mean robots sucks😱
Comments section: "applaud your hard work bla bla bla"
Me: "I don't remember the constructicons ever transforming into robots INDIVIDUALLY in the movie"
Also me: great job dude! YOU F'KN ROCK!!!
You see several of them at various moments throughout the movie. You see Mixmaster on top of the Brooklyn bridge and also near the end he briefly switches to his weapon mode before getting shot. Scrapper is walking among the buildings when Sam and Makayla are running on top of one of the buildings. Rampage shows up as a red version of himself and gets his ass kicked by BB. One of them is dimly seen underwater when he is sacrificed to rebuild Megatron. Long Haul is also seen amongst the buildings near the end. It seems Bay and company were pretty liberal about treating them like separate robot characters from the combining versions of them.
Meet Devastator from the movie: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Released in June 24th, 2009. Rated P.G.
wow this is so cool!!!
Time and effort is amazing. Nice work. Shame Michael Bay turned my favorite character into a giant rainbow gorilla vaccuum with literal metal balls 😆.
5:47 can anyone tell me why there’s that little bit that’s green instead of yellow?
Because it was accurate to the movie. I made a community post about it a few weeks back that included a still from the movie.
ROTF Devastator
You know, you might have figured it out!
That's devastator
I tried transforming all my MPMs in one day and passed out halfway through… took me the whole day to do them all. I think it was like 13 or so figures…
I've been doing that with my collection over the past 3 weeks. Every MPM figure from all 5 films back to alt mode. It's painstaking but I'm doing it once only to film & have a reference. To be a completionist I'll probably do devastator but damn I really don't want to
this must have been a lot of "trouble" 🤭😁
Broo why dont you pose it like the movie? He looks like big Igor when standing :v
Anyway Outstanding video and effort
5:17 and 9:18
I'm sorry, wut?
Iike what the heck were they thinking with these designs requiring such a complex origami folding technique
That's whack
Lol the CAD program led them astray.
What a journey. This guy is beautiful! How big is he?
Little bigger than the SS one. 2 feet?
@@peolesdru not bad. What a piece indeed
It would worth the price if it 105 cm tall.
Iska naam devostrator hai.
Worst combiner ever but amazing video!! Great job!!!
Thanks!
Either way, the basement guy needs a raise
I think hightower gots to be the easiest
