After seeing Dune in the theater, I almost immediately revisited Blade Runner 2049 and Sicario, they’re my 3 favorite movies that he’s directed so far.
This was the first movie to make me take notice of Denis as a director. I had seen Prisoners and Enemy, but I was mostly watching those for Jake Gyllenhaal (along with his performance in Nightcrawler, he was on a roll). When I left the theater after this film, I felt tense and paranoid, and as I walked through the parking lot that night I was afraid that someone was going to hurt me and that I was being stalked…even though almost nobody was around besides other moviegoers who were just heading home. The relentless tension and dark atmosphere in this movie was unlike anything I had ever felt before and I don’t believe I’ve experienced anything like it in a film since. Also, great performances, characters, story, score, and of course cinematography.
I remember me and my uncle watched this in the movies to “pass the time” coz we were waiting for our relatives from the airport, we didnt know anything about it, no trailer or the cast, just an “action movie to pass the time”..boy we did not know what we were getting into, after that weve been faithfully following villenueve from arrival to bladerunner to dune (not sicario2 tho, that wasnt him lol)
I discovered this film fairly recently, easily one of my new favourites. I'm often disappointed by many new films nowadays - this though is a masterpiece!
I think Villeneuve is an astounding director! No more proofs needed. Your video is incredible, as usual. I'm glad you used the original music. It builds much of the movie's ambience.
Do amazing shot of star wars: the old republic trailers. I know that they aren’t movies but I believe they look so good they deserve an amazing shots video.
Love your channel. I would prefer though to let a few scenes play out instead of just always showing short clips of camera zooming and moving. An example would be the extended driving montages
@@geometrydashiuppiter6910 I think Nolan is better, he made 2 of the top 15 Highest rated movies on imdb (Inception and The dark Knight) Denis is a very good director but I dont think he beats Nolan
@@Drewzizui They're both incredible directors really, it comes down to personal preference. They're both among my favorite directors of all time anyway.

Well. Guess it's time to rewatch Sicario...

I actually just rewatched it last night!! So good!!

If you desire to watch a great work of Deakins, watch 1917
@@rajendramalakar5977 Saw it for the first time a couple of months ago, and really enjoyed it! Beautiful movie, and it pairs nicely with Dunkirk.
Roger deakings is a master of the cinematography
The music, the terror. Johan made absolute terrific atmosphere.
3:34 that shot is baaadass bro
Ótimo ator e ainda por cima, lindo de viver!❤💙🇧🇷

The cinematography by Roger Deakins and the original score by Jóhann Jóhannsson created an atmosphere very close to a horror film.
Absolute banger, Benicio owns this movie.
RIP Jóhann Jóhannsson

3:43 just noticed the reflection in the mirror is slightly delayed, that's some serious attention to detail.
Thank you for taking the time to make this!
This is easily one of my favorite movies of all time
Thank you for watching!
Thank you.
I definately prefer this channel to "the beauty of". This channel includes many more beautiful wide shots which I absolutely adore.
The soundtrack still thrills me..
Keep it up 💖

Filme excelente! Emily Blunt e Benicio Del Toro estão excelentes. Ambos mereciam indicação ao Oscar. E o Roger Deakins deveria ter ganhado o Oscar.
Love the Sicário movies, they're are my kind of NeoWestern.
My favorite part is when they walk in the shadows
Spectacular.
Cheers.
This is a very intense movie and I’m glad you still maintained that atmosphere. Great video!
What a fucking masterpiece.
I love how you concluded your Sicario video with this shot/scene!! Genius!!! Well done. At 5:30

These clips are all way too saturated when compared to the original.
This is 4K BluRay. It's always a little different than regular 1080p
@@AmazingShots ok thanks, I ran both the 1080p and 4k footage on resolve and yeah there's quite a difference
