85-6 were the cars that gave FLowmaster its popularity. Had 1 of 2 in the entire SFV that I knew of, never even heard the name til Istopped a guy with them and asked what he had sounded so good! Sound better on these than any car after them. Bought the Ford Test pipe from the dealer soo as i can . knew it wasnt fast but sure turned heads due to its exhaust note.
loving the car nerd comments. My first car was a 79 Mustang. Despite it only being the 2.3 4cyl with ONLY 144K, that thing did doughnuts till the tires burst!!! That was back in '89. Love the fox body 'Stangs'..
Wish the music playing in the background was muted out or turned way down when you had the Mustang running. An American classic muscle car's exhaust note is music enough for any true enthusiasts. Nice video though.
I never bothered with wiring a sound system when I bought my 86' same exact car but black..and ttop. I always intended to but the sound of the car was an experience every time I fired it up...The Recaro seat option (had the same ones) and the interior in general (besides the cluster) are far better than the 87's up. Only gripe is they should have removed the back seats from the factory....I fealt weird the one time I had people in my back seats ;)
@@DominatorGarage COrrect! The 82-86 stang seats and 85-96 C4 standard seats are by far the most comfortable Ive ever sat in. Esp for big guys like me (6'3 275)
My first Mustang was a new '84 GT, and my second was a new '93 LX 5.0 which I had as a second/third car and garage queen for ten years. I'd like to have either of them back if they were still in the same condition as when I had them. I still have my third Mustang, an '03 convertible that I bought new (still only 35k miles) and have always kept in the garage and used for pleasure cruising only on sunny, dry days. The '86 in the video reminds me of working at a big city Ford dealer in '85 - '86 in my early 20s while waiting for my real job to open up (it finally did, thank god). In the meantime I enjoyed being around all of the new cars. That dealer sold a ton of Mustang GTs and a few SVOs, although in those days it was hard to convince someone to spend several thousand dollars more than a 5.0 GT for a 4 cylinder turbo SVO.
at 15 in 85 my next door neighbor bought an 85 this same color, Id be in the kitchen every day bythe window so I could hear that exhaust. Knew Id have one someday...3 yrs later I did.
Those rims are a problem for me personally. They work on the 93 because of the ground effects. On here it looks like something is missing. I had an 86 svo back then and thought the gt was a step down. But now I like both. The rims in the svo were 16 and 5 lugs. Four wheel disc. Gt had 15, 4 lug with disc in the front.
I just bought a bone stock all original 1986 Mustang GT with 130K miles and a fresh (non-needed) rebuild. Looks just like this one but with original wheels and the red interior. Every option. everything works. Cold ac 5 speed. Beautiful car. runs great! Paints a lil weak but turned out nice after a good buffing. was a 1 owner car with all paperwork. No wrecks and clean title.. IM ASKING $3,000! fuckin crazy for 14K. I can buy a nice 80s Saleen cheaper then that lol almost enough for a terminator
86 it was a good year , first year for the fuel injection and last 4 eye saleen style seats with halo headrests . I owned 2 a few years back and regret selling them because now days its hard to find in decent shape.
I would consider the 14K if it was all original plain Jane with the original rims. Just the new paint and a couple of maintenance receipts. Super nice and in great condition anyway.
I paid $6k for my 85 GT in 2010, 95% original from the original owner with paperwork going back to day 1. Only changes are BF Goodrich rubber and a modern stereo.

you cant base a car like this on blue , there prices are a joke on any old car. A clean 4 eyed fox can be easily 6k but this car is really high quality restoration. i do admit 14k aint cheap for a fox maybe 10k
only someone with money would buy it. A collector wouldnt bother because of how far it is from original... 14K doesnt seem like alot of money but when you compare it to what you COULD buy... yea... I could own alot of nice 86 GTs for this price. He's nuts. its only cuz its "Flemings". Private seller would sit on this car forever
14k is high that I will say. BUT if you want a fox that is super clean. Better of buying from a private seller. Most people bullshit in the comments but I just bought an 86 like this completely restored. But with charcoal trim like it should be and factory 10 hole wheels. And completely stock motor. Picked it up for 3k in nj! Guy wanted 5. I showed him 3 and he took it. So again this car is in great shape but wheels and trim kill it for me. And after buying mine for such a steal I know don't believe in buying over priced old cars from dealers. And bullshit that's a stroker!!! It's a 306 with a pretty intake stock cam and maybe aluminum head
@thetruebattlefront You sir have no respect for fox bodies, and that fine because you are obviously not the target buyer. But 14k is a very fair price for this car, I have seen the same price on cars in worse condition. And having had 2 fox bodies in the past, I can attest to them being extremely fun to drive and are tough little things.
I just bought a 93 Mustang LX 4 cyl in MINT condition with low low low miles... for 1200... Doing a 5.0 swap as well as a 5 speed... couple grand MAYBE!!! if done right and with the parts I need/want... So roughly 3500 in a MINT 93 Mustang LX 5.0 (wont be an original 5.0 car but still SUPER NICE) keep that bitch till my kids are driving. definetly be worth more then I paid hahaha
incorrect wheels- incorrect color decals- incorrect badging- incorrect steering wheel which leads me to believe in wasn't a "GT" from the factory. Recardo seats not an option with that steering wheel. Overall its ok. Thanks.
Bill, you are 100% WRONG! I own that exact year with many of the same options. I purchased my 1986 GT brand new in 86' so I'm the original owner of the car. The steering wheel is correct. That's the steering wheel you got with the cruise control option. The seats are correct. They are not Recaro's nor did they ever claim to be. The decals on this example are redone of course but accurate just the same. The wheels are "wrong" but they are from a Cobra of the same Fox body vintage. This is a stunning example of a very tasteful 1986 Mustang GT restoration. It sounds just like mine. That sound is intoxicating. Nice job guys. If this 4.9 liter (5.0) in marketing speak, is indeed putting out 400HP (at the rear wheels)??? Then this thing will run in the 4.9-5.2 0-60 jaunt all day long.
BILL BADASHAW : I feel like I need to smash you again. Your comment: Incorrect steering wheel tells me Everything that I need to know about you. Y'all know nothing about Fox Body Mustangs. 0. Again, that steering wheel is 100% correct and Stock. I own one since new-31 years. All restored and tasteful. That is my wheel with cruise control.

So nice to see it next to the Testarossa two 80’s beauties

How you think so? I own an 85 stick shift and love it also had a 92 but AOD. Love old school
Why do you think its the funniest one? I love my 85 and miss my 92
