@@nickmazuk I'm having an issue once more, one that I have experienced at least three times within the past two weeks or so. About two days after everything is set up, Finale's audio engine spontaneously breaks and refuses to work with the multi-output device (or anything that's not built-in output). Every single time I've had to re-install iShowU - is there an easier, more permanent way to fix this?
It's called Roboto Condensed Light and can be downloaded from Google Fonts: fonts.google.com/specimen/Roboto+Condensed I made a video about it: ua-cam.com/video/9hJNR2UDKOs/v-deo.html
Thank you for your tutorial. It is very useful. I would like to know if it is possible to edit the cursor in scrolling view. I need to enlarge it to make it more visible.
On a Mac, you can make the cursor larger in System Preferences. It's in Accessibility > Display > Cursor > Cursor size. Not sure if there's any way to do it automatically or make it only larger in scroll view. I'm not on Windows to double check this, but here's how you can do it according the the Windows documentation: support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/make-the-mouse-easier-to-use-73c2eeb0-a261-3da0-4480-b560df531df7#:~:text=Clicking%20the%20Start%20button%2C%20click,and%20size%20of%20mouse%20pointers.
@@nickmazuk Thank you very much for your suggestion! I succeded in changing the mouse pointer but tha action doesn't affect the scrolling bar on the staff. Anyway I could solve my problem just changing the color (program preferences) to make it more visible. I hope Finale allow to act on the graphics of that item in the future.
Yeah, I don't think it's possible to change the size of the scroll bars (unfortunately). There are some usability things in Finale like that which they should really change. If it helps, I did make a video about many ways to navigate documents in Finale. Perhaps it has other ways to move around that will help you? ua-cam.com/video/4OLEvuWcHbM/v-deo.html
You can. There were several people specifically asking to record your screen this way, hence the video. But yes, you can just record your screen without the audio, export the audio through Finale, then line them up in a video editor. Totally possible.
I don't know a ton. That's actually something I want to really start learning. I know Tim Davies has an entire setup to sync Digital Performer and Finale using Keyboard Maestro. And there's Rewire which you may already know about.
i also notice that finale scrolls by simply shifting to the next few measures after it reaches the end of the page. I would like a smooth scrolling effect without jarring shifts from one page to another for easier reading
Not the problem I'm trying to solve in finale 2012 which is recording chords from my piano seems to be a big problem , it does not record all the notes 75% of the time and is(I have tried all the different quantization possibilities but still no good results) very annoying. Anyway it is very good Video and it actually help me think a little bit about another problem which is totally forgot.I always wanted to use my ProTools 002 RACK as a output when I use online Demos and haven't been able to figure that out yet?. Thanks for a good video and if you have any ideas about the problem I'm facing please let me know ?.
Hi - When I open QuickTime and select New Screen Recording, I do not get any "Microphone" listed in the Options that come up, I get just "Save To". "Timer" and "Options" (only 3, like show mouse pointer etc.). Do you think my QuickTime is not set up properly? I'm a bit of a neophyte! Many thanks!!
Interesting. I'm not entirely sure, why that's the case. Are you on macOS Catalina or Mojave? If so, you may need to grant Quicktime microphone permissions. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Microphone, and make sure Quicktime Player is selected. Let me know if this helps!
@@nickmazuk So sorry to be a bother but I seem to have missed something out - I have managed to get my screen recording (I'm using QuickTime as you said it was simpler to use) but when I open the recording to play it back, I don't get any audio! Have I missed out linking the audio/video somehow? Thank you so much - your help is greatly appreciated!! NB I only want to do scrolling score videos with only audio output, no voiceover narration or anything like that.
@@nickmazuk Sorry, me again - I decided to see if I could make it work with the OBS software and I managed to get it to record but ... still no audio!! I am doing something wrong somewhere!! I went through your tutorial again and again and think I have ticked all the boxes but the audio does not seem to like me!! Sorry!
I am a Windows user and I love it. I'm a music producer as well as a composer. I use a DAW caleed Reaper. It's got a 60 day fully functional demo and is only 60$. I use it everyday and love it. Get a Focusrite Audio interface for around 150$ and you're all set.
Every time I need to do this again, I'm going here. Thank you!
Glad it helps!

I want to ask if yoou can use finale to create vocal guides for chorale parts, and if you do can you make a video for it thanks.
So you mean at the end that quick time is enough for screen recording of finale music file playing?

The device does not show up under "Microphone" in the options menu.
Can't you just export an audio file under the File drop down menu and then record the video?
