Hey Miguel, I watched a video my sister shared with me from Nick Johnson and I made the connection! I love that you love living here. So do I, Nick's video was off-putting at first and I almost changed it. Glad I watched until the end! Tell Jodi I said hi!
Hey Jessica, that is so awesome that you found the video and made the connection. I don't think everyone watched the entire video from Nick and understands how great this place can really be, luckily Jodi and I had you on our side when buying our home and we couldn't be happier! Jodi said 👋
The skate park has been here since the 90s and is getting a face-lift soon. Also they redid the entire park and are building another park by burns valley mall.
@jeffstever7754 you must have gotten to enjoy Clearlake at it's best. It's been up and down like everywhere in the U.S. but I call it home and love it here. Calistoga is always a great short ride for me on my Victory Vision, especially love the petrified forest. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it
Hey No Further West, thanks for watching and commenting. There are quite a few reasons prices are low around here in my opinion but keep in mind it is just my opinion because lots of people around here feel differently. Many of the properties out here have not been updated, renovated or maintained over the years. There are not high HOA's around here and the area I live in the HOA is not mandatory, you only pay if you would like to take advantage of the amenities such as the private beach area , marina and private boat launch. There is crime around here the same as all areas if you do not lock your things up they might disappear but it is a safe place. There are more people living out here and enjoying everything that Clearlake has to offer than there are complaining on the internet and there is no shortage of complaints. If I believed the comments on the internet about Clearlake I would have never even visited but I visited for years before living here. The main reason I think prices are low is because there is nothing that is "fancy", there is nothing that famous people use hashtags about here and during the summer the lake will smell due to the algae growth. On the bright side there are more months that you get to enjoy the lake than there are when the algae is bad . Don't get me wrong this place is not for everyone but even the people of Malibu California complain about things in their area and everyone I personally know enjoys living here. I hope I helped a bit and if there is anything else you would like to know please feel free to ask. 👍
@@PlanetOwner Interesting, thanks for the reply! It seems that perhaps it is a "well kept secret" of sorts. I wonder if it will grow in popularity in the future since many other ares of California are too expensive. But I'm sure many want the prices to stay low!
@@nofurtherwest3474 glad my reply shined some light on the area for you and I do agree with it being a well kept secret of sorts. Many people around here definitely want the prices to stay low but they have gone up quite a bit already. Things are changing but people rarely understand gentrification until they can't afford to live in their own neighborhood anymore. I grew up in Brooklyn NYC and once Starbucks opened up here I think that is the beginning of the end in affordability. Again thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it 🙏
@@nofurtherwest3474 I am still here and I enjoy it very much. If you look through many of my videos they are around here. Nothing fancy but definitely a lot to enjoy
Hey Ian, are you looking for the city of Clearlake or just Clear lake area and lake county? I grew up in Brooklyn, lived in California everywhere from Santa Barbara, Mojave, Foster City, San Mateo and I enjoy the City of Clearlake. Lots of people have different opinions of the area but I assure you there are more people enjoying Clearlake than there are complaining about it. Summer is the off season here and there's about 8 months that it is great here as far as being outdoors. The city of Clearlake is doing a lot of improvements, the parks are great either to launch a boat at redbud or enjoy a concert at Austin Park. If you let me know what area I would be more than happy to help you out 👍
@@PlanetOwner I was looking at places near the clearlake park. I heard that area is called the goose neck. I am from Millbrae, so you know the area if you lived in San Mateo and foster city. We want a place to come relax and enjoy the water, but also retire to.
@@westparley If you check out my video named " Clearlake Ca loop on a DRZ400SM " you will be able to see the area from main street in the City of Clearlake all the way to the goose neck and out to 20 then back. The goose neck is a nice area but my wife and I still wanted walkability so we are close to main street. There's Clearlake oaks which is still affordable for a house on the water when the water isn't so low and certain neighborhoods like Bella Laguna has a private beach and docks right next to Redbud park. It is nothing like the bay up here and I happen to really enjoy that. In all the time I lived down there I never knew any of my neighbors and when I finally moved up here all my neighbors helped me with the move. My wife and I spent a few years staying in Air BnB's up here to get a feel for the area everywhere on both sides and we walked the neighborhood at night before we purchased. Honestly Clearlake is the best bang for your buck, our home value has doubled since we purchased and there's still room for people looking to buy but I don't think it will be long before the gentrification starts. If you need to know anything else please don't hesitate to ask. 👍
I definitely agree. Maybe it's not for everyone but I certainly enjoy the area, the people, the community and things to do like mountain biking as well as tons of outdoor activities is where it's at for me👍. The casinos and wineries are like you said a little hidden but such gems when you know where to go. Glad to see you enjoy it here as much as I do!
I agree. I live in Clearlake and I love it here. It's much better than the city. Clearlake isn't as bad as some people make it out to be, If it was so bad I would have never bought a home here.
@skyeparker5822 I just watched a couple of your vids and I can't comment on them there but man that buggy sure seems to rip! Is that a live rear axle? Seems like it has super torque and drifts corners well. Sweet ride!!!🤘🤙
Ah looks like I had that video on made for kids for some reason. Yes its a live axle on a swingarm. So its drifts nice and flat but the lack of independent suspension can be rough. The buggy rips pretty good! Thanks man. @@PlanetOwner
Thanks for watching and commenting Teresa, I appreciate it it 😊. I have a video of Lower Lake Daze from last year as well as one of the soapbox races on Dam road , I love our neighborhood
The parks are becoming treeless, concrete walkways and picnic tables replaced them. The city councils agenda is the removal of all large trees in Clearlake because of the fear that the city attorneys have of falling leaves. Not one fallen tree has been replaced with another tree that would be a shade tree , they're all semi trees or worthless tiny shrubs. Otherwise the space is left empty. The weed known as goathead or puncture vine has infested the parks making walking a dog a risky endeavor. Those stickers hurt and they are mildly poisonous. Theres no place to dump boat or motorhome tanks, the only gas station that has one has been "plugged" for over two years and the stupid ass management rude to anyone who asks. Before it was permanently closed management price gouged the cost of dumping tanks to $19.00. One thing sticks out. How many closed buildings are there on the two main strips? And why do the businesses fail? When asked the city council responds with hostility and threats. I'm so done with those old drunks and thieves. They can't do their jobs like making sure that the parks are safe, the roads aren't holey and cratered, that businesses are welcome and not immediately bled dry, that city trees are maintained without cutting them down to the ground and their excuse is that there's no money for improvement. I still call methland my home though. Maybe Lakeport will have me and not sic their police force on me while ignoring the junkies like Clearlake does. And the laundromats? Yuck. The restaurants are killer though.
Hey Darrell thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it! I think Austin park is left open with little trees because they want to be able to host the concerts in the park with that open field. Those goatheads get my bike tires almost every time I ride through a patch without knowing so I can only imagine the trouble for a dog. I go to Clearlake state park all the time and there is a dump station there, if you get the park pass for California it will allow you into the park for the day... Great value in my opinion I really enjoy it there and there is no shortage of trees. The city of Clearlake might be heading towards being a City and the other areas in the county will stay more suburbs I think? Hey you can always get on the city council and try to change things but I personally don't get involved in that even though I pay attention to the meetings and agenda. I really do enjoy living here and again I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
yeah this place is a huge garbage pile. Dont know why they lie either, lake is definitly not clear lol. you got homeless trying to burn this place down, tons of fish washing up dead, and doorknobs as inbred locals. the ignorant pieces of shit locals are the worst part of Scumlake
@Kat it sucks that it is like that even in other places too like San Francisco and LA but at least we don't have to pay those type of prices. I haven't seen the needles at any of the places I go and I'm not saying it doesn't exists I'm just saying I haven't seen needles anywhere while in Clearlake. Now where I grew up in Brooklyn is where I had to watch out for needles and crap. Check out some of the nature trails and places like that and you will see the people that visit places like that and parks usually aren't bringing needles
