Recently I 've listened podcast with Randy Huntington. At the end he mentioned one of his female long jumpers, they improved her top speed and did it successfully, but she wasn't able to handle her new speed and didn't get any benefits from it (or he needed more time to work with her, but he didn't get that opportunity). Before it I've looked at 100m time of Tentoglou and I wondered could he break WR if he improve his top speed for about half of a second. But after listening to Randy have some doubts, that it may take some time to be able to handle and manage the new level of speed, so atleast some time the may be no transfer in results. So my question is - What the difficulties may appear for that female athlete with her new higher top speed (or any other athlete)? Also would love to hear your conversation with Randy on some topics and different nuances in preparation, transfer, etc.
