Allie, I've said it before and I've got to say it again.....Your face smiles constantly even when your not smiling and yes you are a dream, don't let the Trent take you for granted.....Who would not let that smiling face over the border?....Enjoy your travels!!
I recently have come across your videos and l love them! I used to live in DC and was surprised at 1:26 when I realized exactly where you were. I used to take that road to go kayaking every week. Keep up the great work.
Allie makes Trent get up early. Making him grouchy all day. Allie sneaks in nap while Trent has to drive. Allie causes them to arrive an hour early. Allie sits across from Trent while crossing border smiling at border agent. Advantage Trent! I love you two & your videos.
I cross the border into Canada 🇨🇦 at least once a month, I’m in Detroit just a tunnel or bridge away. Have been loving it for years and I still get tense when going across only been asked to pull to the side one time in 40 years, when I had something to declare (no problem). enjoy yourselves guys. Thank you for your experience.
... thanks for the morning laugh! ... it was hearty in response to the day-old with the skiff ... /// typical Canadian border agent - any friendlier and he'd be travelin' with ya ha ha... tx ~ S
Great video!!!!! It's videos with content mentions like this that almost scream for me to start vlogging to show another type of "nomad living" as when most nomads are getting on the road or starting the day, I've barely got to sleep; my "prime" work hours (aka - when I can earn/trade money more easily or efficiently) are between midnight and 5 a.m. est. Makes it SUCH a joy when other rv'ers think I should be on their schedules so come knocking @ 10 - 11 a.m. even after I've explained I'm up most of the night... (Sorry, went off on a mini-rant there, lol).
I'm with u Allie - leave early - time up the sleeve is always useful. Ya don't have to stress so much and there''s time for unexpected things. Such a long drive - and he still didn't let u drive!!
I totally agree with Allie. You wake up, your mind can focus without getting distracted. When I was in school, this was my golden hours where I can accomplish twice or three times as much as I would say in the afternoon. You guys are perfect for each other, one is optimistic and a go-go person and the other is the opposite, but I won't say who is who, LOL. Border agents always looks for someone who is nervous, eyes shifting a lot, either not talkative or too talkative. Essentially there is a profile, lets face it that is what it is.
My husband and I handle little relationship irritations with the same edgy humor. Only I'm you Trent and my husband is you, Allie. Lol. Nice to see "the squad" together again.
Well, that was cool.😎👍Thanks for letting us listen in on the boarder crossing. I bet y'all had alot of fun with the gang. Give Frank some lovin for me. 😘💖🐾💓💋☕
OMG....Seeing as how I live in Bradford, PA, or as you like to call it "the middle of nowhere", I laughed through a good portion of this video!!! Anytime you guys are in the area on your way to or from Canada my driveway is always open to you guys and Frank!!! Safe travels!!!
Looks like a week of fun ahead! We hope you have a blast with E&B and C&A. Is Frank with you, or did he stay with Allie's mom? You guys are masters of the border crossing, for sure! Someone should do some kind of vlog about the way so many vans are equipped 90% by Amazon! LOL
Eamon and bec are the center of a solar system. They bring people to them. There is a community building. So fun to watch and dream that one day I’ll be part of it.
Good job! Better early than late. Maybe there was an accident later that day on the wet roads that delayed traffic....besides you two are too young to sleep your lives away, lol! Great to see my three favourite couples together:)))
You should have pulled back the black privacy drape behind your seat before approaching the check point. Allowing the officer to see into the back helps.
Glad to see the "squad" back together again! I get both sides of the "sleep-in? or get going" debate as I'm a solo traveler when I'm traveling and so being the one who does all of the driving I like to leave early just in case that mid-day sleepiness hits and then I have time to pull over and sleep if I need to. It's whatever works for you, right? LOL Love all of the comments about the "intense interrogation". Not sure if you edited any out, but I guess people forget that is a possibility that not all of his time in the van made it into the vlog. LOL Have fun in Toronto!! much love guys, xoxo
Glad you arrived to Canada safe and sound! I live in Buffalo. The border you were originally trying to cross sounds like the Whirlpool Bridge. That bridge is for Nexus card holders only, so it's a blessing that the van was too tall. That would have been more involved trying to cross and not having a pass. Depending on how many times you cross into Canada [and Mexico], it might be worth looking in to a Nexus pass. It's a trusted traveler program that works for land/sea/air. The most basic pass is for US/Canada and is $50/5 years. I definitely agree with Allie on the decision to allow for an hour when traveling to the Toronto area. All it takes is one accident or construction to set you behind an hour or more.
Loved seeing three pairs of my Van "babies" (I'm old enough to be y'all Momma) helping each other On The Same Video!!! I found you and the Matneys through Eamon & Becks vlog channel. Traveling Grace Luvvies, Sending Hugs from Mid Tenn...
Hey Trent & Allie!!! I'll have to remember those border-crossing tips when I drive through. Canada is next door; sort of, so I know I'll be going there one day. Be SAFE in your travels, Stay warm and Thank you for sharing 😏😃 😎
Looks like a fun week ahead with the other van lifers!!! 😁 hope that for Christmas & New Years Eve you two find a place to park & stay, so you can party or whatever & then sleep innnnnnnnnn 🛏🎁🎄💜💚💙💟🎁🎄🎉🎉🎉
I crossed to Canada last summer in Maine and they asked a couple questions and off I went! :) Coming back to the US across the Rainbow Bridge was a little more ... annoying! :)
Trent you're working the straight Lumber Jack look with the shirt and beard. I enjoy my trips to Canada. I've never been stopped by border control myself. I bet your guy wanted a tour of the van. LOL Weed is big now. Can't wait to see what you guys get up to in Canada. ~Smile!
Toronto 10 lanes of terrier. coming from the west of canada to the east is crazy. Toronto is really an easy city to get around in. been there about 6 times over the course of several years.
The Sunday after Thanksgiving Allie was right. You got lucky with traffic. Usually that is a very busy travel day. That’s a lot of driving for one day😬
lmfao yeah the guy took one look at trent n was like" yup this guy does weed" . Great video guys! great perspective on seeing how its like to cross borders. I never road tripped n planning to do it full time soon n this was very insightful!
Welcome to my home. If your trying to park remember there is app for that and you can top up if you stay longer so no more tickets. Toronto cops love to ticket. Have a great time while your here
Getting into Canada is usually quite easy. It is getting back into the USA where we almost always have problems. We even have Nexus cards but it seems to make little difference. Of well we will see what happens going into Mexico next week.
Totally agree with Allie and Trent. My friend stutters and all of sudden can't understand the questions the border officers ask her. Every SINGLE TIME I cross the order with her, we got pull over. This never happened to me simply bc I was confident and act naturally but she would be like oh what did you say, uhh, ummm I think few hours...RED FLAG!
I feel for you, amigo. As soon as the video started it was obvious you didn’t agree with what was being forced on you 😂. At least you got her back with that nasty bagel. I know you saved all the cream cheese for yourself 🤣 Hope you’re all having fun down south. Gotta catch up on the vids. #themuddymoth
I'm Team Allie on the early departure thing, especially if you're crossing a border. It could easily take an hour + just to get to the agent. If all goes well and you arrive early, take a nap. You have your bed with you...
Two minutes in, I'm sure Allie is right, it is best to leave an hour early. If lucky, you get that extra hour at destination; if unlucky, you're not late.
I'm like all your other van life friends, I can't drive across the border without the intense scrutiny! "Pull the car over and park it there and come inside" I swear, I am on some watch list somewhere. Happens EVERY TIME!
Google Maps actually does take this into account if you put in your departure time. Google gets it's traffic info from Waze, which it owns. Apple Maps are horrible in my experience, and I'm a Mac guy
In no way did I think that was intense. The Border guards sounded curious. I think he just wanted to check out your van. And the weed thing...... it looks like he's not busy he's just striking up conversation it's all new to everybody up here and a lot of people are asking other people what they think about it. Also you were coming INTO Canada. That's the best way when we try to go to the states that is intense. I've even been stopped by the American side on my way back to Canada and been searched. Where I should have only had to go through the Canadian side. Looks like you guys are having lots of fun up here . LOVE watching you 2 😀
Crazy question - where is Trent's flannel shirt from? The one he's wearing while driving? Fellow ginger here who is always looking for great patterns. Thanks! :-)
In Allie’s defense, I have crossed the boarder many times from the US into Canada 🇨🇦 and it’s hit or miss. Sometimes it’s great and you sail right through and other times your sitting there for hours you just never know! If you want a good daytrip, go to Amira ( not sure I spelled that right) Amish country, great markets and pure maple syrup!
Someone was a little whiny about not getting an extra hour of sleep. That hour might have made all the difference in how little traffic you encountered or how relaxed your border crossing was. Just sayin'.
Welcome to Canada, Eh! … Would love to have met up with you "kids" to say hello...only a few minutes down the road from you all here in Ajax...but hopefully next time...as I know you will have a great visit here in Canada and want to visit again...and again...and again...LOL...now if I only had the youth to keep up with ya'll ...LOL...but lunch on me for sure on your next visit...I will have my "van" (actually a 28 foot school bus re-registered as a "van") completed by then and be able to host you guys for a home cooked meal on the wood stove...my grand daughters ( 14, 11, and 5 years old) think you guys are just the cats meow...they cant wait to get this project finished and hit the road for a year or two...you guys make it look too much fun and they are actually excited about it now...THANKS!
Law enforcement doesn't want a bullsht day any more than you do. Give respect, get respect. Make sure your van is tidy. A trashed van is a red flag. While Trent may look a little shady, just one look at Allie, tells law enforcement that this is a 100% all american, apple pie, norman rockwell couple.
yeah, well, you'd think so. plenty of people have other experiences.. I'll never visit the US again even though I'm a citizen. I have had some hellish experiences.
For those using "boarder" when you meant "border" the difference is that _boarder_ means someone who pays for lodging in a home, someone riding a skateboard, or someone getting aboard a boat/ship, while the word _border_ is what Trent and Allie crossed into Canada, meaning a boundary or the edge of something. This is an example of homonyms = words that sound alike but have different meanings and different spellings.
I knew it my 3 favorite young couples!! Trent, I WAS married to a controlling, man who was ALWAYS hours early. I've been at the hostess house before she was even dressed, the state fair BEFORE the animals were awake. She offered to let you take a much needed nap but you insist on driving. You know why I married him cause I loved him. Now keep the orange shirt with your ginger features. She is early, you are controlling but LOVE that's why. Now go have fun ....Oh and border crossing are scary...even the innocent feel guilty.
1:07 AMEN! Always better to leave early and have time to wait there, then stress over being late because you left late.
Allie, I've said it before and I've got to say it again.....Your face smiles constantly even when your not smiling and yes you are a dream, don't let the Trent take you for granted.....Who would not let that smiling face over the border?....Enjoy your travels!!
Trent seems like he's perfectly aware his girl is awesome, Jerry.... Shush
You got that right....Trent appreciates Allie...you can tell.
“Utah, no guns??” Had me dying 😂 (also from Utah 👋🏼)
I recently have come across your videos and l love them! I used to live in DC and was surprised at 1:26 when I realized exactly where you were. I used to take that road to go kayaking every week. Keep up the great work.

"Intense interrogation" LOOOOOL THAT WAS JUST WITTY CANADIAN BANTER!
Yeh Canada. Loving all your adventures vicariously Trent & Allie, Jordan & Kaylee & now more awesome friends!

You guys are so graceful, even in grumpy morning times and I told you so's.
I totally agree with Allie. You wake up, your mind can focus without getting distracted. I wouldn't say they're opposites at all. Watch the other videos to see different takes. They're just individuals.
My husband and I handle little relationship irritations with the same edgy humor. Only I'm you Trent and my husband is you, Allie. Lol. Nice to see "the squad" together again.
I hope your border crossing today was a pleasant part of your trip. Have an awesome day.
Love Allie’s advice. That’s wisdom you can live by! Have fun, be safe.
Have a great week!
Well, that was cool.😎👍Thanks for letting us listen in on the boarder crossing. I bet y'all had alot of fun with the gang. Give Frank some lovin for me. 😘💖🐾💓💋☕

Sleep is over rated Trent !! Thou miss out on so much of this SHORT life by sleeping it away !! hehe
Allie. When do you not smile! Lol!
Good job! Better early than late. Maybe there was an accident later that day on the wet roads that delayed traffic....besides you two are too young to sleep your lives away, lol! Great to see my three favourite couples together:)))
South south ! the warmth is south !
You should have pulled back the black privacy drape behind your seat before approaching the check point. Allowing the officer to see into the back helps.
Thanks for a good time. I love you guys early in the AM. We get to see the REAL Trent & Allie. I kinda like it . . . . reminds me of ME.

Oh, you two!! Like a delightful old married couple. Allie, you’re a dream . Nice to see the normalcy of a grumpy morning, thanks for sharing.
Trent is plain dreamy, but you know that.

Love you guys!
I'm not sure morning person by choice myself but like you Allie I like to get that work behind me. I'm so glad you guy met up to sell some Chi
I'm curious about the border crossing in the other direction. Can you offer a comparison?
Toronto 10 lanes of terrier. coming from the west of canada to the east is crazy. Toronto is really an easy city to get around in. been there about 6 times over the course of several years.
Oh my gosh, how did you get the kindest border guard ever?? Welcome to Canada lol
Just taking a pic of my Red Heeler. Paris when this popped up.
Happy trip ! ....Love you Guys . And like always "Hola " from Puerto Rico !!!!!
Mornings: Blargh. lol! Have fun in Toronto!
The Sunday after Thanksgiving Allie was right. You got lucky with traffic. Usually that is a very busy travel day. That’s a lot of driving for one day😬
Living the dream 😍
Hahaha I just watched the Matneys go through and they had to do a back ground check. Lol
lmfao yeah the guy took one look at trent n was like" yup this guy does weed" . Great video guys! great perspective on seeing how its like to cross borders. I never road tripped n planning to do it full time soon n this was very insightful!
❤️ I didn’t get to see Frank this time . You two are so funny. Looking forward to more of your Canada visit.
You guys are legends! And are welcome to Canada anytime ! Hope the one of a kind was fun and profitable for your friends
legends for driving to canada? lol.
🤣🤣🤣 - nah - for getting up so early - depriving yourself of sleep Trent!
Welcome to my home. If your trying to park remember there is app for that and you can top up if you stay longer so no more tickets. Toronto cops love to ticket. Have a great time while your here
I live in Toronto and have no idea where that street is at 12:14. Ha. Hope you enjoyed the city!

Loved the vlog!
And your BIG Smile helps :)
Welcome to Canada! 🍁
I smashed the like button !!!
Happy Holidays guys....love your videos! (Allie, please give Trent an extra hour to sleep will ya?)
I'm Team Allie on the early departure thing, especially if you're crossing a border. It could easily take an hour + just to get to the agent. If all goes well and you arrive early, take a nap. You have your bed with you...
nice vlog again and information as well
I knew you guys were going to see them
Two minutes in, I'm sure Allie is right, it is best to leave an hour early. If lucky, you get that extra hour at destination; if unlucky, you're not late.
Eyyyy He liked your van!
I'm like all your other van life friends, I can't drive across the border without the intense scrutiny! "Pull the car over and park it there and come inside" I swear, I am on some watch list somewhere. Happens EVERY TIME!
Allie, you’re correct! apple/Google maps doesn’t take traffic/construction slow downs, potty stops, etc. into consideration!
Google Maps actually does take this into account if you put in your departure time. Google gets it's traffic info from Waze, which it owns. Apple Maps are horrible in my experience, and I'm a Mac guy
I always allow for more time than what Google maps says a trip will take!
In no way did I think that was intense. The Border guards sounded curious. I think he just wanted to check out your van. And the weed thing...... it looks like he's not busy he's just striking up conversation it's all new to everybody up here and a lot of people are asking other people what they think about it. I sure love your vids !!! Skål !!!
Trent key words, "Let it go."😁😁
Great advice Thomas !
I've been married for almost 40 yrs now. This is good advice Trent. 😉🙂👍😁
Crazy question - where is Trent's flannel shirt from? The one he's wearing while driving? Fellow ginger here who is always looking for great patterns. Thanks! :-)
It’s made by Prana!
What paperwork do you need for the dog? Just a regular vaccination record from vet?
In Allie’s defense, I have crossed the boarder many times from the US into Canada 🇨🇦 and it’s hit or miss. Sometimes it’s great and you sail right through and other times your sitting there for hours you just never know!
If you want a good daytrip, go to Amira ( not sure I spelled that right) Amish country, great markets and pure maple syrup!
U guys are hilarious... love it!!! So awesome !! My cranky looks a lot worse than this !
When you stop to pee do you ever switch drivers mid drive or do you always completely stop the van? Haha
Someone was a little whiny about not getting an extra hour of sleep. That hour might have made all the difference in how little traffic you encountered or how relaxed your border crossing was. Just sayin'.
I let my little woman drive if i need more zzzs.
They are still in Canada. Big meet up this coming weekend.
Consideration Station I’ll second that!
Allie is so sweet.
yeah, well, you'd think so. plenty of people have other experiences.. I'll never visit the US again even though I'm a citizen. I have had some hellish experiences.
Yip...he is sexy...EVEN with his black socks! (giggle) seriously....Trent looks anything but shady folks.
Trent looks like an innocent howdy doody!! I think they would look great if they switched noses though lol
What if you want to travel with a shot gun? Does Canada not allows guns across the border? Or do you need to have certain paperwork?
You guys should stay in Toronto for next weeks meetup!
I wanted to see you crossing the mexican border like other vanlife youtubers have done, but anyway, bon voyage in Canada ¡¡¡
I went across at Vancouver for a weekend when I was like 20 and they tore the whole fucking car apart. Door skins, headliner, everything.
Wow you guys JUST came through my city. How'd you like it?
They drove 9 hrs. Which city are you referring to??
Just watched The Matneys go through. Definitely didn’t go as well for them.
Did you have Frank in the car when you crossed? Does he tend to bark at boarder patrol? How do you mitigate that?
Do you ever cross the border with Frank? I'm planning this with 3 cats so I'm curious how that would work....
8:18 was that Cliff Clavin? haha. it sounded a bit like him.
Are you coming to Ottawa?!
Toronto actually doesn't have awful traffic. you wanna see a city with bad traffic, try Montreal.. or Pittsburgh xD
Why on why have I stopoped getting notifications when you post
I knew it my 3 favorite young couples!! Trent, I WAS married to a controlling, man who was ALWAYS hours early.
