👏👏👏 Great to see you’re using, promoting and explaining the water solubles. I’ve used them exclusively for about 20 years and I have introduced many artists to this amazing reformulation of oil paint. Love your painting style, thanks for letting us watch ♥️

Again Eric-- Thank you for your presentations. Free presentations by a variety of artist are so APPRECIATED due to the fact I live in rural northern Wisconsin, still dealing with winter weather. Thank you for Christine explaining what happens using solvents and instructions on values. One art instructor at the college went to acrylic prior to water solvent oils due to the issue of odor in enclosed space. He was a great master oil painter of a life time of art education and as college instructor later transferring his skills into acrylic art. Marina Ann...

This was such fun to watch. I love Christine’s work. I’m taking a workshop with another artist in June, my first time trying oils. I’m a late bloomer, started watercolors in my seventies. So much to learn, so little time!

So what about the acrylic based gesso used to prime the canvas, is that archival enough to be used with oils? The story with the melted painting sounds like a made up anecdote - who in their right mind would hang a million dollar painting over a radiator ??? 😆

They’re talking about 35 yr old house paint. And I too agree that most gesso is crap. I use a brand of canvas prep medium which actually is made with a construction grade concrete sealer. Todays top shelf acrylics are even better than oils as far as longevity and stability.
