This my sons account, an I've kept it. Thankyou to shinedown, your music is getting me through my time of grief. As in September 2019 only just over 3 months ago,my son sadly lost his fight to live. We only saw you back in December when we went to see Alter Bridge. We had heard a few of your tunes before,but we didn't know who you where. So when we heard monsters an get up,we knew them. We where not going to go to the gig,as my grief tried to hold me back. But our son loved Alter Bridge as much as we did so we did it for him. An found that a group called shinedown would become part of our healing. We love you shinedown, an thankyou for your great tunes. You now have 3 new fans,but I should say 4 because we feel we where ment to go along to the gig,to find you. We believe our son,was saying hey mom/dad connor( his brother) you should hear this band,they will help. An i think that mosters an get up,I'd heard through my son that's how we knew the tunes. I lost my brother in December and my mom also almost lost me due to my relapse after his death... I got sick n had to have heart surgery but am in recovery now n have been clean for 2 months now

I’ve always been a shinedown fan. My husband passed away in April at only 33 years old. The first time I heard this song was after he passed when I was having a really hard day. I believe it was a message from him. I lean on this band and a handful of others on my hardest days.

Addiction is a symptom of trauma. Need to deal with trauma first before addiction goes. Try Jordan Peterson as a resource. Also dancing releases trauma from the body and don't use any drug that suppresses ptsd nightmares as this is your rem sleep releasing trauma and will feel cold. Cuddles with your hubby.

I met my soulmate at the age of 12, we were young and stupid (still are sometimes lol) and we were off and on until I was 17.. we ended up getting together, staying together, got an apartment, dogs, and got married and on 9/10 (we danced to this song) we’ll be married for 3 years and on 11/25 we’ll be together 5 years.. never give up unless it’s toxic. Along with that hope that you'll be safe and healthy today and your family ND friends too. Hope that this is the last time your going to try something cause your gonna do it today. Hope that their is a man or woman out there for us all and we won't be alone forever. Always hope and always stay positive. Take all those negative thoughts, bad memories, even good memories that make you miss someone and stuff them way back in your brain away from anything else. Start being happy and thinking positive and when those negative thoughts try to creep into your brain, say oh hell no, and push them back. Immediately think of a positive. If you can do this for 7 straight days, 7 days without a negative thought, then your life is going to change. You'll find your smiling, laughing, having new friends, going to work and dealing with life's issues are easy and you actually look forward to it. I'm telling you all this because I did all this. I was at rock bottom and through the power of positive thinking I got out of that misery and today I'm thriving. Thank you for listening. For anyone who claims Shinedown's gone "soft", go listen to Bully, Enemies, Unity, Adrenaline, etc. (Which are all on this album, too) and then retract your statement. Only talented bands can have a balance between softer and harder material, and Shinedown does it perfectly. That's why the band can appeal to so many different people.
I had no idea Second Chance was a Shinedown song when I was listening to the "Sound of madness" track. They can go back and forth quite smoothly.

Thats beautiful Deborah Carlisle, this reminds me of my brother...at 23 he committed suicide. A family member said that because he did that he was in hell and i relied with "When i die i be going to hell to get him out and then together we will burn down the gates of heaven and let everyone in".

One of my favorites by them. Lyrically this speaks to me on a level I cannot describe. Just saw them for the second time in Milwaukee two Saturday's ago and they don't disappoint.. Mary Shaw I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and have had to deal with people ask why did I have too much sugary foods to cause it, For the better part of 9 years. It fucking sucks.
Hold strong! I also have type 1 diabetes and was in dka when I was admitted. I found out because my parents took me to the doctor after I had lost 50 pounds and vomited after every meal for a month. They thought I was on drugs lol. I was 15 when I was diagnosed. It took 3 years for me to stabilize and now I'm 27 and working as an electrical engineer. It will get better!
Type 2 pre diabetic caused by a metabolic disorder called hypothyroidism where the thyroid gland shrinks to the point of not producing its hormone, my insulin levels can go trough the roof even though I haven't had a single meal and, to this day, people tell me why I ate too much sugars. Fuck it, I feel you. Stay strong and fight it.

Shine down is one of my main bands, haven’t heard a bad song yet, but many of them touch me deep in my soul. Especially since my husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer in Nov 2019. We have 38 years together this month. Thanks for this song, and many others that speak to what’s going on inside my head, heart, and soul. I’ve had 55 years worth of struggles with my mental health, and a whole lot of trauma. Music has always been my coping mechanism, and yours is some of the best. Thank you ♥️

Thank god for her the 6 years together such a blessing a true angel i prayed for and that long haired hippie that runs the show in heaven sent her to me that day! I have no material items left in my life im sleeping in a 6 ft.room in the basement of the house i use to own,60 ft. From my house of 30 years i just lost while in rehab with my daughter and her boyfriend and I'm so very thankful to have an old chair out of thy trash to sleep in were i can rest my neck! Just glad to be alive and thank god its all in his hands.
