Levels are greatly detailed with lots of decorations plus with added extra climax to the place that has just been invaded by forces of Hell, while first levels are greatly expanded techbase levels, it is going to change bit later. While in Knee Deep in the Dead Hell's presence was barely noticed in the level's layout and architecture, in Martian Fury the more and more you walk across the levels, you are going to notice a slight change in textures and climax. The second half of the Martian Fury episode is slowly going to resemble The Shores of Hell episode, hellish marks and textures are scattered around the levels, it seems that UAC had been conducting some experiments too. The Alpha Labs (bases on E1M5 Phobos Lab) is a real UAC Laboratory set on Mars, but it has been also devoured by the forces of hell, you are going to meet some hybrids here like Revenants and even the Arachnotrons, first time to pick the Plasma Rifle. Yep, because this is a major remake of first episode based on DOOM 2 WAD, you are given a way better arsenal at your disposal than previously, plus the levels are way more difficult with traps being a normal thing. Keep in mind, because it's a remake of first Episode it does not mean that the levels are played the same as before, some places might give you a headache because of the complexity, but in overall the longest map might take between 15 to 20 minutes. If you want to know is it important to get all the secrets, the answer is shortly yes because you are going to need these bonuses a lot because levels are more difficult than the vanilla, get them as many as possible. A great touch up of this episode is the ending - the portal to the next episode is basically a techbase mirror of the portal in the next episode, but of course portal on Deimos is just a pure hell

31:13 careful demons.....you may burn humans in hel fire ,but it also give them the chance to forge in it.... you thought some corpes on sticks where scary.... leets decorate the cealing with the left over gore from your hordes... how sweet a bit of delicious remake mod to the cult tunes! bring forth the hexagons and power circles!...so that the bolt and machine guns may glow red hot!
Absolutely love this remake mod, the detail, use of doom 3 assets, the atmosphere all epic. Though on my PB playthrough I was getting tired of the sheer amount of pinkies and spectre spamming did make it not fun to play. other than that I really enjoyed it.
Awesome playthrough as always. Ridiculous amount of lighting/lights in a couple levels but it makes sense for the wad and the environments you're in. I love EP1 remakes (and Ultimate DooM remakes in general), this is a great one. Edit: What version of DooM Metal Pack are you using (or if that's included with PB)?
You can find mods out there that converts hitscans to projectiles (Z-hitscan, bellmondo hitscans). Combine that with "Ultimate Custom Doom" and you can modify the players speed.

I have downloaded all the things you've stated on the information, however, I'm so clueless on how to get those working., Thank you in advance.,
I like all the Unfamiliar Doom maps but, to be honest, it gets tiring because each map is too tedious and the horrible automap won't help at all, hell just to open the automap gives you a headache.
i wanted to like this map pack but holy crap it turns into a confusing mess the further you go. The map is useless because every area is s oover designed that you cant tell head or tails in the map, episode 2 was the one that got me and gave up.
Does anybody know how to config the game properly? I've downloaded everything except the addons (page is not existing anymore), but the HUD is not working properly (it's a very big one instead the slim like in the video), the barrels and the health/ armor bonus items are somewhat animated in a wrong way and the weapons seem to be bugged. I do not have all those fancy weapons, the shotgun is like the old one and after de-selecting, it can't be chosen again. Also the new weapons seem to use an own type of ammo which is not being replenished. Is this broken or am I doing something wrong?

I wish there's a 'Zen' wad for doom, where player movement is reduced by 25% (top speed and momentum) and projectile speed is reduced by 75%.

I love the look and the complexity, but teleporting in a bunch of demons every five seconds quickly comes to feel a bit bullshit.
