From the looks of it, this was shot on a DJI phantom 3 drone. I happen to own one of these bad boys and I must say they're very difficult to operate in wind and they have have a limited distance to which you can lift off from the ground. Looks like OP got lucky

You lost the objective You fly your drone over to the Devils tower for a view. Then you don't get close enough to see the very TOP WHY WHY WHY NOT ! Everybody would like to see the Top
For great footage. The overcast skies caused brightness everywhere, no shadows. This is great for clear colorful shots. If you ever go back I would love to see a vary similar video taken after sunrise and or before sunset to bring out more depth to see the relation of the smooth hills and the tower better. Just a thought. Neither way is right or wrong, I just would like to see how the entire structure is related to each other. Just like many mountains the foothills are intimately related to the peaks. The transition zones vary in all cases. This is nerdy geology stuff I am trying to figure out. Your video was excellent and showed me many things about the area I had not previously known. Some folks think that this is an old tree. I have never seen petrified wood, if it is, turn into basalt, as this tower is made of!! Now, those three "mountains" in the background, look awful "volcano-ish" to me.
