I'm glad I don't hear a bunch of stupid music with your videos. It is nice to hear what is going on. I also like that you start with the least amount of cleaning necessary and only work up from there. Well done.
That's a knife I'd be proud to own, especially if I had done the work! I've got few in my collection I've 100% restored, and I know the feeling! Excellent work and keep at it!
Absolutely incredible work by the King of Restoration!!!!! What an exhibition of requisite skills to resuscitate an old implement!! Outstanding work sir!!!!
Excellent restoration job. You may have even finished it to better than new condition. I say that because I don't remember them being so well polished back in the day.
I knew it wasn't an SAK, but I didn't know this was a french knife, thanks for that. :) Victorinox are purists with their designs and this strays too far from what they usually do.
Awesome job men ! I know that it has the Cross on the scales, but this looks much more like a France Pradel pocket knife. Plus it has no other mark's on the blade tang or the other implements, so maybe it is a Pradel pocket knife made for the France part of Switzerland. And that is why it doesn't have Pradel written on the blade, and no tang stamp either. Because it clearly isn't a Wenger or a Victorinox knife. But more like it copied some feature's from Victorinox, because Pradel used to copy som implements designer from them. And their logo is similar to the shield with the Cross on it, like the one Wenger and Victorinox used. But the Pradel logo it is actually a flag with a Cross on it not a shield, like it is confused with.
Yes, usually I see these pradel knives with the flag behind the cross, and they are not as rare as ReXtorer says, I've seen plenty of these being sold in serveral online 2nd hand sites, usually for quite cheap, like around 20€ but they also thend to be in bad shape, but this is beacuse these knives are not very high quality, cracking scales and rusted/broken blades are a very common occurance. I still want one in my collection though, but finding a good one proves to be quite hard.
I do also have a swiss knife, but it doesn't need restoration, intreat it well)) this restoration made me feel like I also have this one)) it's shining now
Awesome restoration ! Thanks for the show. But I don't think it's a genuine swiss army knife though, not even a swiss knife : it has no stamp on the tang. It's rather a french (or german ?) knife, produced in one of these countless semi-industrial workshops in Thiers (likely) or maybe Solingen. These 50's, 60's multiblades are decent alternatives to swiss pocket knives. I have a few of them as urban EDCs. I like the choice they offer on their scales : metal, wood, horn, pearl... Name it and you can find a knife to match your shirt, your style.
I have to comment on the mad skills of grinding and peening the rivets without taping the knife first. My clumsy fingers would have scratched the scales up bad. Well done!
Have a similar knife, the style of the tools is exactly the same, the only differences are my scales are white and it has the name brand stamped on the blade, Pradel which was a French company.
I watched a documentary about the manufacturing of Swiss Army knife's a few years back, mainly looking at one of those multi knives with 70 odd attachments and how they make all the components. Someone sent them a knife that had belonged to his great grandfather,a model from about 1908 that was very well used. Apparently when they say a lifetime guarantee they mean it. They refurbished the knife free of charge and sent it back.
That is only if the knife size in question is still in production so they have spare parts for in. Usually they just send you a new one if they have it because that is much cheaper for them.
@@RiderOftheNorth1968 You can ask them not to. I've sent a few knives in Canada and I said one was from my father. They repaired it and sent me the old parts. I also sent them two knives with an unaligned corkscrew and they changed it on the rare knife and gave me a new one for the ordinary knife. That said I asked them for spare part for the Sportratchet and they said they couldn't since it is not in production anymore.

Good job Rex beautiful restoration well done
Nicely refurbished. With so many blades and items to use in such a knife, I am sure it wasn't so easy to get everything back together. Thumbs Up!
Thanks!
What a beautiful combination knife. Thank you for giving it so much TLC!

Wow! The knife started as a something that had seen better days, but it really turned out nice!
Outstanding job!!! 👍🏻👍🏻
I’ve done this, but not with the skill and attention to detail you have shown. I can appreciate the effort. Nice work.
Great restoration 😃👍 Congratulations and greetings from Belgium 😉🇧🇪🖐️
Beautiful restoration and very glad you was able to refurbish the scales for it!!

nice restauration, for your information this knife is'nt a rare Swiss Army Knife , it's a french made knife, around 40's to 60' and common in France

I thought "lifetime" would mean the life time of the original owner. So 1908 knife might not be under warranty anymore.

Nice knife, but certainly not a swiss ARMY knife, none of them have a corkscrew, never in swiss army knife history
They weren't that color either, and the tools were all stainless steel (aka 'rostfrei'' in Swiss)
nice job
Amazing

дякую!
It’s perfect
That logo (cross) on the scale looks wonky. Have the scales and complications been ID'd with a model number yet?
beau travail mais ce n'est pas un couteau suisse mais plutôt un Pradel ou un Thiers mais c'est bien refait dans les règles de l'art
Молодець 😉
대단하십니다😊
Where did you get the corkscrew from? Too bad it's not a real Swiss Army knife because it sure is good looking!
Quedó mejor que nueva!!!.

Nice work. Except I was always told not to open two blades at once on the same spring. You might break the spring that way. But what do I know?
Thank you! I didn't know that...
👏🤩
Harías una restauración de una navaja tipo suiza de la marca Imperial hecha en México??
this is not actually the famous SAK knife, there are no markings or stamps, but it a lovely little knife well restored.
Joli !!
Гарно)
Nice work :) do you know if this was a knife from Victorinox or Wenger?
Weder noch
C'est un Pradel (français)
