I do watercolor, practising, learning. But honestly I'd like to download your mind set-up just for a trial. This portrait is something that appeals to me strongly, plus it was made in just 5 minutes ! I have to put myself together now and learn - " nothing is impossible" . Thank you, stay healthy !
Adding the green is something I never would have done or thought to do, but it just adds to the overall impression of an actual person and you don’t even realize you’re seeing it when you take the painting as a whole.
This is the first video of yours I've watched and I am amazed. I chose it from the list as the thumbnail of the finished painting looked very impressive. It is like magic how from a pencil outline you gave life to it. I've never painted before but always wanted to, so I'm going to go start in the beginners videos and see what I can learn, thank you.
I love how Mr. Shibasaki fearlessly uses variety of colors to his paintings--he even tells us to boldly use them. Unfortunately I can't do that. I still fear that by doing so, I'd could ruin my artworks😞. Btw, Mr. Shibasaki, you paint REALLY beautiful pieces😍🙌💕
I haven’t drawn in a while. And now that school is just around the corner for me, I hope that I can get stuff done by listening to this soothing masterpiece, and get some lessons in art too!

I always found it difficult to draw/paint children because I could never get the proportions right. Whenever I try to draw children, they end up looking like teenagers or young adults. Thank you for the tips! I never thought about the chin. I will try it next time!

It's wonderful how you've mastered watercolor so well I can't see how it will look somewhat decent, and as always by the end of the video the painting is simple but incredibly well executed, you truly are a master of watercolor !
In my paintings, I am so hesitant to add colour, so they always end up looking flat. I see now that even with a less dissolved colour, it is the darker hues that add depth to the painting!

急遽似顔絵を頼まれて、先生の動画に巡り合いました。先生の大胆なタッチに敬服し真似してみましたが、遠く及びませんでした。でも数十年ぶりに水彩絵の具を使ってみた割には何とか形になりました。先生のおかげです。体調が優れないようですが無理をなさらずお身体大事にしてください。

う～ん うまい！いつもながらさらっと描いて、味のある生き生きとした子供の顔、ちょっと口角が上がって顔一つにも動きがあって、短時間で描く透明水彩の良さが凝縮されていて、こんな風に描けたらなあ・・・

英語のコメントにもありましたが、今回の場合肌を塗るのに緑とか、素人では一見使わなそうな色をどういう風に使えば映えるのかということをもっと知りたいです！
筆使いやデッサンなどのテクニックもそうですが、先生と初心者の一番の差はそういう色彩感覚ですね。

とっっても可愛いです😍！ラジオ拝聴しました！どことなく人物や風景の描き方が昔のアメリカを連想させる（影色が大胆な暗い色だったり人物がアメリカのポスターや看板のよう）と思っていたのですが、柴崎先生はアメリカに留学なさっていたのですね…！「水彩画はデザイン」という言葉は目からウロコでした。どこを密に描くか、描かないか、先生がどのように感じて判断し、描いていらっしゃるのかいつか聞いてみたいです。
