these linebackers will be really good at gymnastics after those drills because of all the spinning

0:01 he can hit but he should probably try and get his head up and to a side if he wants to keep hitting, my man at 0:13 knows whats up, except for his dinner roll

why did the coach get mad because that guy didn't spin, i'm pretty sure if you try to spin tackle someone in a game they'll get off you easily

Super Novas it's about technique that's all, the coach wanted him to spin and to get lower nothing wrong with that

Super Novas they are learning how to hawk tackle and the spin part is when you spin in a tackle the runner is going to give because he doesn't want you to role on their knee or ankle

Hey what does rolling help with when they tackle?

    • @icecru2
      @icecru2 9 років тому +23

helps knock the ball carrier more off balance, especially if you had their midsection/legs wrapped up, but also helps the tackler concentrate.

Wish there was more than just that explanation I've twisted too when tackling but I think it does more than just knock off balance because it went from me holding on for dear life and I twisted fully and we corkscrewed down into the ground and I landed on top of him.
To be honest I think it half lifts someone up as you twist and you can't run in the air so they just fall with you.

Like I said, it helps knock them off balance

***** Iv'e seen many times where the tackler only has the runner by the legs down(ie. knees foot) and if you're gripping hard and twist that will ensure you bring them to the ground. I don't know if that is the main reason, but i Know its part of it.

yeah i too play, in Sweden, but we realy focus on heads up tackels, and we hade our divisions best defence. (3-3 stack)

+tresteg77 look up seahawks tackle. theres a like 20 minute video by the seahawks, narrated by pete carroll, for how they tackle and why its safe. its kind of a cross between a rugby tackle and a football tackle

Someone send this to Austin rivers. Find me 30 NBA players that can simple suit up and do this drill and you got it.

That's some dirty moves right here, imagine spin tackling someone? That's some serious injuries. I guess the defensive coordinator like mixing wrestling in the football drills, honey badgers way of tackling in his class they all did the same, knee shoots and tackle, it is safe and very technical. This spin though can really hurt somebody, who knows maybe it's just to keep them on their feet and get telling quicker than just shooting and sailing like the guy did hahaha

Antonio Yanez it makes the tackle easier and safer, as it throws the guy off balance and he’s more likely just to fall to avoid injury

It's called a hawk tackle is makes you take your head out of the tackle which makes the game safer every team teaches this cause it avoids concussions

Actually shit head that is a way of tackling that avoids injury to both players it i called hawk tackling

A football tackle is basically a double leg takedown being performed from x amount of yards (depending on where the player is on the field).

I'm pretty sure LBs don't need backplates.

Kyla M. im pretty sure that they decide what to wear, also: a fucking lineman can fall over him if the tackle is near the scrimmage line, so i'd say it's not like "you need to take it off"
