Just saying, I was one of the leading tacklers on my team as a corner... I WISH my coaches let us do hitting drills like this. I remember my first varsity game and having to go for a tackle. I wasn't prepared for that kind of impact.
This kind of drill trains and physically/mentally prepares the player for contact.
These drill looks so fun omg wish my coach would run it.
I like this man this explains why LSU has such a physical football team you do it in practice and when you get in the game it'll be 2nd nature....

Man, stuff like this makes me love football practice. I love contact. It's like the old saying goes, it all starts in practice. If you aren't excited to hit in practice, how can you get excited to hit during game time?

at my school (valdosta high school) the school with the most national championships we do this drill but we hit harder and the person getting hit has to catch a coach he keeps geting git till he does

You're absolutely right. Play action passes don't exist therefore DB's don't have to pursue the runner. DB's also don't do Kick/Punt cover.....have you ever played a lick of defense?
DAMN! if your a big guy, this is your favorite drill. If your small, this is the drill you shit your pants when you see it on the practice schedule lol.

If you put a team that never hits at practice against a team that hits at practice everyday the team that never hit would get destroyed . Anyway drills like this makes a player tougher.
