Great video! Quick questions. If my current head unit doesn't work, can I still replace it with the NBT head unit? I would rather do that than replacing with an OEM one.
Hello, it depends on the reason for the head unit not working. If only the head unit is faulty, then, assuming that head unit retrofit is applicable in your vehicle, which can be checked only when having your vehicle VIN, it is possible. However, we would recommend first to learn the source of the problem, as the head unit might not be faulty and the problem lies somewhere else.

Great Video! Question: Will my BMW Installed Heads-Up Display, Front and Rearview Cameras still work as they did or will the cameras need to be replaced on my 2015 x5d?
The cameras and the HUD should still be working fine. Each Head Unit retrofit is prepared for individual cases and takes into account the equipment that is already fitted in the car.

Great video mate but I am curious do you have a video tutorial on how to install from CCC to NBT, I am kind of stuck for days and getting nowhere as there are no tutorials in regards to this and cannot figure out the wiring

Hey, did you guys disconnect the negative battery terminal first? Or is it ok to swap the head unit as long as the car is turned off?
We disconnected the the negative battery terminal first and advise you to do the same when working on any electrical components.

Does it recognize android phones and will spotify work with it? How is the sound quality with spotify? I've bought a unit from Joe Auto, and it has horrible sound quality. I don't want to make a same mistake.

This retrofit is made up entirely of BMW original parts, so the quality is exactly what you'd get from the factory.
It's also going to fully support a wide range of Android phones, but exact features can always depend on your version of Android, your BMW's software and what phone you're using, and might change over time, as they do with a factory-installed iDrive system.
Would Idrive 6.0 work on my 2014 f32 I think I have NBT 4 but I’m not too sure my last update was F020-18-7-547. I have the idrive touch controller so would the installation be easier or would I have to get a new idrive controller

Hey, where’s the antenna for wifi? Isn’t that required to have wireless CarPlay?
In that case, the WiFi antenna was already installed in the car (blue FAKRA connector) so it was only needed to rewire it to the WLAN slot.

Whether they're available or not depends fully on BMW, so you should reach out to your BMW dealer with this question.
If you're not replacing the original screen, how does that install differ from what we see here?
The installation will be mostly the same, except you would receive a different LCD cable with a voltage converter since an NBT EVO Head Unit outputs 12V while a standard NBT Screen is designed to be powered with 9V.

Hi, Does NBT ID 6 allow you to have waze or google maps presented on the HUD display? Also are songs played showing on HUD as well or you need to be in AUX mode like you do with MMI prime retrofit please?
Yes, you can see the songs in the HUD and you don't have to be in AUX mode. HUD shows nav directions only from BMW navigation.

Would the weather show up on the tile like in OEM 2018 cars for 2014 X5 F15 ? Every package imaginable including luxury seating top and side view cameras HUD stop and go cooled seats harman etc
Most probably not, if the car is currently equipped with a NBT head unit, the ConnectedDrive services will not be available after the retrofit.

For the low sum of 3k$... And if you do this upgrade on a F10, traffic and bmw connected app still won’t work.
At least make everything work for that 3k$ 😒
This depends on your car configuration, some cars are using different modules to connect with BMW servers, which are not compatible with the retrofitted head unit.
BimmerTech from what I was told from bmw, all cars prior to 2015 communicate with an old cellular connection that bmw doesn’t support anymore. All cars since 2015 have a direct connection via the internet. That’s why it won’t work. Never saw a 2011 with an update module for wifi connection to the bmw servers 🤷🏻♂️
if you can barf out $2500-3000 for this kit, certainly you can give $100 to a service to do the installing for you 😒
The cost of NBT Evo consists of several factors :) First of all it is an original BMW kit which includes all necessary parts plus coding service (separately it would cost 600 USD), and secondly besides manuals it includes full installation and product support via chat/e-mail/phone which you can access at any time.
