- After being thoroughly irritated by the onlooking tourists at Nainital Zoo the Male Tiger makes an aggressive charge leaving the people surprised and bewildered. An interesting Tiger behaviour observed by me for the first time in captivity in a Zoo. Total aggression after being irritated. While at the zoo years ago, I remember an artist calmly sitting by the enclosure at a window, drawing a Lion. He would stare at the Lion and I was worried that the Lion might see the staring/eye contact as aggression. But the Lion seemed to know the artist was only curious, and he stayed right by the window and remained calm and poised. So, I think these animals understand human intentions very clearly.

Teasing the innocent creature sitting and enjoying the sun's rays is not bravery. Real bravery is when you face it in the jungle without the fences in between. Its roar is enough to send shivers through your body. The jungle is their home and we are the guest and we should behave like the same.

Zoo should only be a temporary retreat for injured animals and these magnificent beast should be left in the reserves and national parks, where people can go on a safari if they desire, but this is no place for a tiger to be, especially with these kind of ignorant stupid visitors.
