Your tank looks brand new and pristine even after 5 months. How do you do it? Are you gravel vaccing the substrate? I don't see any mulm or detritus anywhere.
My setup used under gravel plenum filter, a powerful external canister filter and weekly 60% water change with gravel vacuuming to keep the water “crystal clear “
Weekly water change 80% due to heavy feeding 4x daily for 9 discus and 4 flying fox and 2 Siamese algae eaters and to remineralise with fresh water for aquatic plants .
The canister filter offers additional mechanical filtration by capturing dirt and impurities inside its media, increase the water flow and aeration and provide extra capacity for Biological filtration with more BCB installed in the canister. In combination with the UGF greatly improves the water parameters.
Well done I did a setup 6 months ago very close to yours almost every step 👍 Glad it’s going to work out 👍✌️🙏🇨🇦
Great content! I will try this out next! How often are your water changes? 👍👍🙏

I do not understand why you put the canister filter on your tank it is doing the same thing as the under gravel.
