    I've been using one of these drives in my shop now for awhile and I'm very happy with it. Reasonably priced, excellent manual and Jack's technical support is very helpful in setting up the drive. Mike a very satisfied customer.

    I just bought a Chinese one 230 single phase- to 3 phase 230 for $120 on Ebay, looks very similar to mine and one that the website sells has two year warranty.

      I’ve always found looking from the outside for the similarities isn’t really that great of an indication as to the quality . Obviously a number of applications don’t require high quality VFD or the more expensive ones . The ones on eBay may be worth the gamble if you know what you’re doing . Personally the people that get mine prefer the service after and dealing with people that have machines and VFD‘s and can walk them through with issues . being able to talk to somebody if there’s a problem in English . I can assure you these are not of the quality that are currently being sold at low prices and mine actually actually have output amps rating at single phase the majority that are sold on eBay as single phase or three phase and need to be D rated . Also the majority of them don’t contain a speed pot built . into the keypad . I have purchased a few of them before and they are what they are . I currently have worked on about eight different manufacturers all ranging quality . I have come to the conclusion that the very bottom one is not the best Value but neither is the very top . Luck and success with your venture I hope you enjoy VFD‘s as much as I do .

    Funny how people would complain about fan noise in a shop full of machines. I wear hearing protection all day everyday.😜

    I bought a 2.2KW 220v single phase in and 220v single phase out VFD. Supply wiring numbers are P, PB, L1, L2, L3 and out is U, V, W. There is no connector inside for the L2. What are your thoughts on how to wire in and out of my VFD?

    You can use a 3 phase VFD on single-phase motors.

    • @jackEnglishmachines
      @jackEnglishmachines  4 роки тому +1

      Yes but these ones don’t require D rating and of course actually have single phase parameters. The front end is built to take the higher amperage load of single phase input and capacitor banks and inverters are made for single phase

    I would need more info about how to wire up the motor and which motors will it work on. I have a Woodtek 3hp wood lathe running on 120v would love to hook one up to it ?

    • @jackEnglishmachines
      @jackEnglishmachines  7 років тому

      Hi Sam . The type motor you need is 200 to 240 volt 3 phase . theses drive do not speed control single phase motors. they convert single phase power to 3 phase out put . if you would like more information contact me at jack@jforsber.ca

    Will this work on a Grizzly H5373 Induction Motor? I just purchased the motor for a wood lathe but want to put a VFD on it.

      It will if the motor is three-phase 240 V All you have to do is email me at jack@jforsberg.ca with a picture of the motor tag

    Hi Jack, are you able to talk about pricing? I recently bought 220v 3hp Teco FM50 which I assume does what I need for use on my disc sander but I'm wondering about better options. My needs are basic functionality but I do like to play with speed control and not always run at 60hz.

      Hi Bob the drives are economically priced . If you would like to talk costs send me an email to Jack@jForsberg.ca . Will have a couple of these at the fest if you're coming on Saturday so you could have a hands-on look at them

    Jack can these be got to change 240v single phase to 415 3 phase. The ones I've priced are very pricey to change the phase and voltage

    • @jackEnglishmachines
      @jackEnglishmachines  8 років тому

      +wadkin1973 I mark. No these are not a voltage doubler. Tho you can run a star delta 6 wire motor if wired delta.

      jack English machines power as in watts, I have a 2.2kw motor and a 4kw single phase vfd
      The power coming out of my wall is 2.2kw as well
      I want to use most if not ALL the power out of the wall into the motor and the vfd making it go at lets say 50hz. Is it possible?

    Who is the drive manufacturer?

    • @jackEnglishmachines
      @jackEnglishmachines  8 років тому +1

      Hi Scott I take it you're the gentlemen are used to talk to on OWWM. It's not The manufacture, Comon on ebay right now . Nor is it teco. This vendor does not distribute in north America and its major market is Europe . I hope you understand that I am securing a deal for the North American market and can't share that information unless you purchase a drive . But I'm sure if you dug through my videos you could probably figure it out .

      Yes, same guy. I was wondering because the manual cover and some of the features look similar to Delta Electronics unit. Cool that you are getting someone to make single phase ready devices in larger sizes. Good luck and I will be in touch.

    Is this VFD single phase input, 3 phase output?

    • @jackEnglishmachines
      @jackEnglishmachines  6 років тому

      yes it is but its does not need to be Drated on the out put . the input side is built to take the high amp load of single phase on the 2 legs to give the full out put of the drive .

    can suggest a VFD for torque and RPM control, actually motor is very small, only 550W, 5Amp, 230V AC single phase.

    • @jackforsberg1326

      Drives do not control single phase motors they control three phase motors from single phase power. Motors have to be three phase

    Talks too slow and tells you about things you don’t care about like packaging materials. I don’t have that much time available

    • @perspectivex
      @perspectivex 5 років тому

      You can speed up up to 2x with the youtube settings (little gear icon under video), you can go beyond 2x by opening the console and entering "document.getElementsByTagName("video")[0].playbackRate = x", where x is the speed factor you want (e.g. 2.5 or 3 or whatever, but I think 3x is starting to be near the limit of understandable, for me). You can skip forwards using L and skip back using J when you enter a segment you know you're not interested in (e.g. packaging materials). Turn on captions with C so you can read any words you happen to miss. With all that you should be able to get through the video in 1/2 to 1/3 the time, take charge of blasting through videos as fast as you can.

    You don't want to get technical because you don't know what you're talking about. ie: single phase motors have start cap.s.
