What a beauty! This is absolutely amazing! The colors, style and design are breathtaking! WOW and I mean WOW!
that blue bird is gorgeous .!!!!!
Thanks!!!
I'm only 40 minutes in and I just had to stop to tell you how amazing you are and your paint. I absolutely love the background! Your blurring technique is mind blowing to me. I know I'm a total novice but, I have spent a Lot of time researching styles and techniques of acrylic painting. All to say I am in total awe of you, your paint line and all you do with that miracle paint. I called my husband over and the first thing he said was, "wow, that background is incredible. Then he said the bird looks so life like and beautiful." He thought I was showing him the finished piece! I know this is way out of my ability but, this is now my goal to be able to paint this kind of art work. You have opened up a whole new world to me through your amazing videos. Thank you just doesn't seem to cut it, but Thank You from a huge admirer!😁💎💎💎💎💎
Thank you so much Tera. I love the background on that one as well.
Thank you for these videos, you are a good teacher .

Very welcome Janee. Thank you!
Wow, loved that little story about the birds. How clever they are ☺️
Thank you Catherine! 😊
I have watched several of your bird paintings and they a beautiful. I love the California Quail they are unique and although not a colorful as some other birds they are colorful in their own subtle way (gray, brown, burnt sienna, orange, blue, teal, black, white, purple...) and their little plume is distinctive and expressive.
Hi Judie, I have a male and female drawn up to paint. I love the Calif. Quail. Had lots of them around our home in Southern California. I will have to paint them! Thanks!

LOL Thanks 👍 I don't think I can paint anymore without getting into my paint!!
Best teacher! It is a pleasure to watch you painting and see the bird "coming to life", wonderful work. This teaching helps me so much, thank you!.Greetings from Germany
Thank you so much 😀
I almost didn’t click on this because at first glance I thought it was oil painting, so glad I watched! I’m learning via you tube (quarantine classes) and the way you explained things really clicked. You asked for suggestions and I just happen to have some dive bombing barn swallows right near my front door, I won’t let my husband clean the siding until this batch flies away. I hadn’t realized how beautiful they are until now. Would love to see them painted!
I was thinking about those. I found some really nice reference photos yesterday. I will so one. Thank you so much 😀
Thanks!
Wow, thank you so much Kenneth! Helps!
Your very pretty bird speaks to me and she says, I AM AN EASTERN BLUEBIRD. She looks completely content on her branch with blossoms and I like the way her head turns and the bluebirds beak tilts upward. The white blossoms draw your eye into the center of your painting and focuses on the main subject. Thank you, for sharing a truly lovely painting, David!
Lovely bird I really like the casual stroke work! Thankful for your teaching!
You are so welcome Marty!
Gorgeous!! Love watching you paint. I'm learning so much from you and absolutely love using your paints.
Thank you so much! I appreciate that.
She is beautiful I love the way you push the paint around I haven't seen that from very many you tube artists and it brings it to life Thank You so much for sharing your gift

Truly I enjoyed your video today of the bluebird alla prima... I have been following, you David, & the alla prima entire series, but I especially today, Enjoyed this bluebirdvideo!!! It just made me feel so Happy & close to my family who are far away.
Growing up on the farm, we had lots of bluebirds, and as you said, they did eat all those tiny mealy worms, and sometimes, my parents would go into the Farm seed store and purchase for the bluebirds, seed Which her drawn moisture and gone bad to the point that there were worms all those little worms all over the sack and it grossed me out! I was very squeamish, but Dad brought it home and thedivide it out In the containers on the ground & on the fence posts. Generally, the bluebirds came out to eat Early in the Morning as the Do you was rising off the grass and they could catch grasshoppers and bugs easily skimming off the ponds to bring him to the babies as well as the mealybugs waking up from the nights coolers in the sun rose into the sky.
in the evening it was just the most amazing sight with parents and fledglings to watch the tenderness but also to see the beauty of Their Unique beautiful.
I totally agree with you in the layout of your paints today with regards to, especially using, ultramjkarine blue. I’m not sure that everyone painting with you has necessarily seen a real bluebird and so it’s hard to truly capture the richness of the blue in there feathers. Particularly, like you said, when they are facing you and the sun is behind you hitting their breast plate.
I can’t see it often enough David, how much I am enjoying your shows and again how much I appreciate you being willing to share everything that you were teaching us without the high expense for your videos. I am CERTAIN you are worth every penny!!!🌈😀So I just want to thank you again, for your selflessness and your desire to teach further with us who are beginners and then artists at all different levels After that watching you. It is the most relaxing show I watch as well as listen my to because you are so tenjmder in your conversation and yet so précis Who are you teaching your strokes and paining process. I love you and please keep on teaching us because I’ve been painting for many years and I feel I have much more to learn. My mother said call mom

Just find you, wonderful bird. Thanks you so much, I learn a lot, this’s the second time I’m watching your video. I like that you give your palette colors, can you tell me which brand they’re ? I will look at some others videos now that I found you.
I use Heritage Acrylics. The links are in the video description. Love them.
Thank you very much David for your brilliant tutorials! Your painting is just amazing! I want to ask How can I replace the color yellow oxide? I use oil, And I couldn’t find such color in oil. What can I see on the screen it looks like yellow ocher. Will it ok?) Thanks for answer
Yes. Yellow Ocher is very similar to Yellow Oxide.
Would it be possible to do a British Goldfinch please xx
Sure can Patricia. Thank you! 😃
Morning Doves
Haven't painted those for at least 10 years. Good idea.
please do a parakeet
ohh this painting caused brain bleed haha 😂...Ive played it more than 3x and still working it out...is there a place to post the finished painting? thanks Dave for the challenging video...but great fun!
Hi, not on UA-cam. We have a group on facebook called "Academies of Decorative Art". People are posting in there. Thanks!
Beautiful. Wy do you the pensel sometimes in a little pot, above the palet?
That is extender medium. It changes the feel of the paint and slows the drying time.
@@JansenArtEducation Thank you very much, I am beginner, sho it help me a lot. Greetings from The Netherlands
What about a black collared barbet.?
Just looked that one up. Never heard of it before!
do a feather tail white dove
A scarlet tanager...
Really enjoyed this video David. Just found you and keen to see more! Thank you.
Sir, very detailed n friendly tutorials. I really enjoy n learn lot. Q. Which acrylics and extender do u use? Warm regards
Hi Mohammad, I use Heritage Acrylics and Global Art or JansenArt Brushes. Everything I use is in the links in the video description. Thanks!
Love your videos. What is this details brush called?
That is a fusion round #4. I love it for bird feathers.
Sir the extender you are using, is it the same as an acrylic retarder? Love your work. What brushes are you using?
That depends. Extenders and Retarders are made be different companies. I have personally designed Retarders for one paint line that is very different from the Extender that I am using today. Not all acrylics and their associated mediums are the same. So, as a general answer I would say no. Depends on the company. I am use Fusion Brushes. The links for everything I use is in the video description. Thanks so much!
