The Royals had the most genius strategy in that series.
Just hit it right at the Mets fielders. It worked.
All kidding aside, the royals were the worst possible matchup for the Mets. The Mets rotation was a strike out heavy staff and the royals were a team that didn't strike out and they put the ball in play.
Tom IsTheName the royals were a team that was great at putting balls in play, strukout very rarely, the Mets pitchers were great strikeout pitchers and instead of going with their strength, they tried pitching to contact. Don’t work.
you probably dont give a damn but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account??
I was stupid lost the account password. I love any tips you can give me!
@Terrance Oakley Instablaster =)
Like it was staged
God Matt Harvey, I can't think of someone who came up and went down so high/low so fast
Jason Bay
Yea
Jeff Franceour
Tim Lincecum
Chris Davis
Idc what anyone says, as a mets fan this was the greatest year of my baseball fandom. Even in the end we still had more hope for the future then ever before. Ofcourse that hope was false hope but still
2015 was the best season as a Mets fan that we'd lived through in 9 years. That August was absolutely magical and forever unforgettable.
Maybe it's because we're one of the more dysfunctional teams in baseball, but i will always remember 2015 fondly.
2006 was way better more dominant team ... check my page
2015 was a great year and a horrible year at the same time. The Mets just find a way to pull on my hear strings EVERY YEAR. LFGM and great vid
2015 made me sad. Daniel Murphy and Lucas Duda forgetting how to play baseball cost us a ring.
Certainly helped my team to win the series but regardless of those I think the royals were destined to win after the 2014 series they kept coming back in the 2015 postseason
Don’t forget our star closer
Everyone remembers Murphy for the home runs and completely forgets how his awful fielding cost us the world series.
That's why Murphy wasn't brought back. He was just... So bad in the field.
Damn royals we’re just not going to lose
@@Posirep But...... Look at what happened when he got to Washington
The Pittsburgh Pirates 2011 through 2015 is a story that needs to be looked at.
lol.rip
And the tigers from 2011-2014
And the Orioles from 2012 to 2016
And the dodgers 1895 through 2020
2008-2012 Rays
I was at the game where Justin upton hit the 3 run homer. My camp left when the rain delay started, once we left my counselor told me to not look at the score and I did and I cried the whole bus ride home
at 3:02 you showed walker locket instead of matz
lol yea that confused me too😂
Lmao I came to the comments to see if anyone noticed that also. How do you make a video and screw that up? Yikes!
Lol he sure did
Exactly I thought I was the only one who caught that lmao
Even as a Royals fan, it broke my heart that we had to beat the Mets in 2015. I wish we had won the 2014 series against the Giants and lost the series against the Mets. I've always had sympathy for them, having to play in the same city as the Yankees.
Thanks Royals fan! As a Mets fan, I felt like we had no chance against that team. I was heartbroken when it happened, but even before it started it was already over. In 2021, we are currently in first place. Comment if this ages badly ;-;
@HyundaiYang1987 Uh huh.
Magical year for the Mets it was great to experience as a New Yorker even Some Yankee fans were rooting for them.
3:03 I definitely don't think you meant to show Walter Lockett here haha. Great video though, this will always hurt to think about but what an incredible season it was.
Was just gonna say this haha, Lockett would’ve been an even more disappointing ‘top prospect’ than Matz
lol i was about to say i don't think that was steven matz hahahahaha.
Based off the thumbnail and title I was expecting a UrinatingTree video
2015 was a wild ride and i love to relive it. even tho we didnt win in the end that season provided so many wonderful memories to look back on and id do it all over again if i could. truly an amazin year for the mets and all their fans.
I saw this video, took a deep breath and mumbled “oh boy here we go” and clicked on it
As a Royals fan, I'm glad the Mets lost that year. But if the Mets had faced any other team in the World Series that year, I probably would've rooted for the Mets.
@Grave Prower OK bud keep being salty.
@Grave Prower Royals won and Mets lost get over it. Besides you are literally the only one saying they used Pine tar and you aren't providing evidence to back it up. I don't know why your still complaining. It's been several years and my team is complete garbage you Mets fans seem to have a bright future though.
We should also probably talk about how great the royals were that year, batted .300 on pitches 95 MPH+, best 2 out hitting team in baseball, 95 wins, unhittable bullpen, small ball mixed with a little power, speed, we were meant to win that year. Also the hunger after losing in game 7 the year before?
Follow up, could you do a video on the 2015 royals?
That year and that team was so special to me in a number of ways.
the 2019 Nationals WS run reinvigorated my love of baseball.
Keep doing a great job man, love your videos
I just pray that we win a World Series in my lifetime, and we don’t pull a Chicago Cubs and go 100 something years without winning
I doubt it. The Mets are too good rn
They aren't winning one with this current core and owner. They always seem to have a glaring flaw that costs them, mostly bullpen.
Ty Lignowski they’d probably win their division if stroman and syndergaard were both there, offense is good
@@sadmetsfan7660 They didn't last year with both of them. That bullpen is a complete liability.
@@joshfriedman7099 yea ok, that makes sense, but I think the offense needs to produce more. I can’t have Edwin diaz pitching anymore. I have no idea why the Wipons didn’t Trade him.
I love your videos! Keep it up :)
Do the 2017 Yankees as well please (a complete rebuild while having a winning record)
Great video and great content, hella understated my g
My favorite sports team of all time. Fantastic video!
What an underrated account l, I love your vids bro👍👍
That world series still makes my heart ache to this day
I'll be honest, although many Mets fans don't want to relive this time in their history, I had a blast watching this iteration of the Mets. They were exactly that... A rollercoaster, but the fun I had watching them rise and become that true unexpected team was awesome.
This is one of the most underrated UA-cam channels of all time
Great video; brings back so many good memories!! By the way, Noah Syndergaard made his debut at Wrigley Field on May 12, 2015. He pitched well, but he took the loss.
This season came out of nowhere. Was so exciting honestly, being at every World Series game was so painful but I’ll never forget the memories of actually going to those games. It was something I never thought I’d never see, just hope one day I’ll see them win
I started following the Mets since 1999 as a kid,but I got really into it starting from 2006...they will play with your heart strings.. but i hope with the new ownership that changes,Id love to see them win it all.
Honestly unlike (apparently) most Mets fan I look upon the 2015 season fondly. The Mets playoff race that year got me into baseball and now it’s my favorite sport. I will never forget many moments from that year and it always be one of my favorite Mets years of all time
2015, The year i started following baseball. :')
Bro, get ready for some pain and suffering. We haven't had a ring since 86. This team is gonna make you cry every year. Are you prepared for that?!
My grandma is life long Mets fans and every year she puts aside money in case the Mets got to World Series. She watches at least 150 games a year and is truly the biggest fan I know. She brought me to game 5 of that World Series. She had been saving for so long she bought second row next to first base. Watching Duda miss that throw was heartbreaking but an amazing ride.
awesome video man
The Mets would have won if Bartolo was pitching every game
Mets would win in three
Memorex996 4 there’s 7 games so it would have to be 4
@@noskillgamer6987 r/wooosh
@@Memorex996 4
Bartolo DID hit The Greatest Home Run Ever Hit. Happened at Petco Park.
That ride metaphor really hits deep at the end.
Utley breaking Tejada's leg in the NLDS, Flores tugging at the Mets writing on the front of his jersey after hitting the emotional walk off HR, Murphy's consecutive playoff HR streak, David Wright's HR in his first at bat coming off the DR, Cespedes taking the team and carrying them to a pennant....and the horrendous defense and bullpen performance in the WS.
What an incredible ride that season was.
Great job, man. Loving the work you’re putting in. Let me know if you’d like a statistical file I maintain that adjusts for era for both pitchers and hitters since 1901.
Great video!
I've seen a few of your videos on SRS and you deserve so many more subs, I'm sure you'll get there. Also appreciated the coaster analogies on this one
Airtime Thrills thank you! I can see why you would appreciate the coaster analogies
Ayyyy I watch your vids all the time.
So many memories that year. I'll never forget Game 4. it was on Halloween. I was at a Halloween House Party. The party was crazy, but I was downstairs with 4 other Mets fans watching the game. Once the Royals took the lead in the 8th, we were all so upset. If you were in the outside looking in, it would have looked ridiculous. Five guys sitting on a couch in Halloween costumes looking pissed off. I was so upset by that loss that I just got up and left the party. I didn't even say goodbye to anyone.
I was at game 5. Everyone there wanted Harvey to come back out in the ninth and when he did the place went absolutely bonkers. Had he done it he would’ve been a God. Years later, I’m OK with the way that turned out because in that moment he was our best and you have to either win or lose with your best if you want to be a champion.
I was a mere pup when Vin Scully uttered the famous words: "Behind the bag!" I went from being ready to kill to jumping so high I nearly hit the ceiling. Anyway, the Mets were expected to win it all in 1986, and certainly had the best team ever in their history, led the NL in runs scored and ERA, won 108 games. In contrast, the 2015 Mets got extremely lucky, and that luck held up all the way until the very end. First of all, the Nats tanked in 2015; they won 96 in 2014, 83 in 2015, and 95 in 2016. The Mets (90 W) were, at best, the 5th best team in the NL, behind the Cards (100 W), Cubs (97 W), Bucs (98 W) and Dodgers (92 W), possibly 4th best slightly ahead of the Dodgers. The NL Central was a beast, snagging the three best records and both wild cards. The Cubs knocked out the Bucs in the WC, and then amazingly bumped off the powerful Cards in the NLDS. The Mets scratched past the Dodgers, and then stomped the exhausted Cubs in 4 straight, after the Cubs did them the huge favor of not forcing the Mets to face either of the other 2 powerful NL Central teams. As I said, luck
2015 was a great year. WS was heartbreaking, but I will always have fond memories of that year.
One of the only times I have cried at the end of a sports game. Jesus I cried and cried.
great video
All i think of when remembering this post season is "Im going back out there!" Everyone was so damn pumped uo until he walked the firat batter in the 9th.
i was at game 4 of that world series. i dont think ive ever been so sad
i watched nearly every game from 2013-15. it was such a painful ending to an incredible run that i stopped watching baseball for a few years afterwards.
I think you got the wrong idea. This team is LOVED by Mets fan, especially younger ones. It was our first competitive team in nearly a decade, had so many memorable moments and players, and helped set up future success. Even in losing the World Series, it was done so in the most Mets way possible it was hard not to get a kick out of it. LFGM Mets and I'll always love this 2015 team.
I recently found this channel and like what I see, I’d love to see a video on the downfall of the Washington Redskins and San Diego/Los Angels Chargers
I miss the camo Mets jerseys
The video of the twister at knoebels was the most underrated part of this video
Matt Harvey against the Royals reminds me of Leiter vs the Yankees 20 years ago. Sad endings for great performances
Flores finding out he's traded while on the field an then not being traded is top 5 most Mets things the Mets have ever done. This was prolly the first Mets being Mets thing that turned out good for the.
If I'm gonna watch my team lose the World Series (at home), definitely wild ride. Just the joy of getting there after no one believed we could would be fantastic on it's own. And you might not get your ring, but you did see your team in the World Series, and those NL Pennants aren't too shabby either.
I am a Mets fan and not disappointed about it at all of course the ws was tough but it was an amazing year
That season was a blast. Of course I wish we had shown for the World Series, but we shouldn’t have gotten there in the first place, so it wasn’t that painful.
GO ROYALS! GREAT SEASON!
As a Mets fan, I had no hope for them to win the world series a few days after they beat the Cubs. Watching KC grind and play small ball after making the world series the year before, while watching the Mets on talk shows, I just knew their groove would end. That first Céspedes drop ball instantly confirmed those feelings.
As a Mets fan we are used to roller coasters for sure
I’m 39. I think back on that season fondly. The highs were amazing, but the lows will never match 2007 & 2008, and even 2000 and ALL of the 90s. You young Mets fans haven’t seen the baaaad days. I had season tickets in awful years like 03 and 04. Remember 15 with a smile. Especially DeGrom vs LAD, Walk off Wilmer, they gave us a hell of a ride. Also, Jenrry was pronounced as Henry.
The home run in the 9th inning killed me
I take issue with the beginning of the video where you said most Mets fans won't want to relive, yes the season ended in heartbreaking fashion but I've been a Mets fan for nearly 30 years and 2015 is one of my favorite years as a Mets fan. Yeah they should've won the series, I'll never forgive Familia for that stupid quick pitch. But the Flores HR, the comeback in in DC, the back to back to back home runs on Sunday night baseball, deGrom pitching in game 5 when he clearly didn't have his best stuff, big sexy, Cespedes coming here and carrying a team like I've never seen, the domination of the Cubs in the NLCS, Wright's first game back and hitting a HR in Philly and the fact the captain finally got to the world series, and that rotation, it breaks my heart knowing it didn't really pan out, but still it was special. Harvey day was something special. Yeah it ended in heartbreaking breaking fashion, but that run from August 1st to right before Cespedes kicked that ball in game 1, it was the most fun I've had as a Mets fan.
I know you’re a Mets fan, but I love the way you always work in a reminder about Wainwright freezing Beltran in 2006. Great memory for a Cardinals fan like me.
Yay, mets content
Here since 40 subs
I can’t find it now, but some guy on a betting website called covers in 2015 put a future World Series bet on the Mets to win it all I think maybe 10 games before the season ended. He created this massive post talking about how he doesn’t have much in life anymore and is putting everything he has apart from his job on the line (500,000). Obviously someone saying they are putting on such a large bet, you automatically assume fake, and chances are it probably was. However the effort and detail he put into the post, you could only hope it was real. They make it all the way to the World Series, the ride was unreal. The thread blew up and everyone was rooting for the mets to win. They then lose like this. The guy never posted again after that World Series. For them to even get to the World Series was amazing. And that’s how I will always remember the 2015 word series.
Can believe they my birthday that year was the last game on that World Series as a Mets fan I ended my bday with 2 hours of crying
I was at that Padres game... two outs in the god damn ninth. DOWNPOORING, parts of Whitestone expressway with a hit of flooding. Little did I know that day was the Mets turning point
12:23 is where I get off. I can't live through that World Series loss again. :(
Duda... "YOU BLEW IT!!!"
Now do an in depth look at the 2015 Royals please. Small market championship revenge.
I was there for that Yoenis Cespedes three home run game
I’m a reds fan and my dads a Mets fan and I was cheering for the Mets the whole year and was pissed when they lost the world series
5:05 to the left is fireball!
Was hoping for more Bartolo, but I reckon a couple of references worked
Pain
Sport storm, idk if you read comments on old videos but could you do a video on the dodgers choking? Im a red sox fan in LA but ive followed baseball regularly since 2013, the dodgers have finished in first every season since and have been the favorites to win it all a couple times. What's going wrong? Does the context of this expand beyond the 2010s? Would love to know your take
The 2011 Cardinals were much more inspiring than the 2019 Nationals.
Curtis Granderson put the team on his back in the World Series, just a shame they couldn’t protect the leads they had in Games 4 and 5.
I was at the freakin padres game, will never forget it.
Mike Smith Hockey you must have been there forever
i honestly thought the mets weren't going to get through the playoffs. They faced the dodgers in the first round and after tejada broke his leg i just thought it took the air out of them. But the two wildcard teams the mets were a cominbed 0-13 against them lost 7 to the cubs and 6 to the pirates and the other team was the 100 win cardinals so it was going to be a daunting task to say the least. And very difficult to say the most. But they made it! and even after they went down 2-0 in the world series i knew they were gonna take game 3 and i thought they were gonna win 3 more in a row! but i tip my hat to that royal team. only made the playoffs 2 in the past 40 years and got to the world series both times.
To this day I believe that if we played Toronto, we would have won. Kansas City just had a style of hitting that we couldnt keep up with
the reason flores was crying was because no body told him about the trade....he heard it from the fans they said things like "we love you flores. were gonna miss you...and he didn't even know what was going on and then the ovation happened....and you gotta understand the mets signed that kid when he was 16 years old......they helped him and his family out so much he loved the mets for that. id be sad too.
I still can’t believe the Jays traded Syndergaard for RA Dickey. What a turn of events
For my roller coaster enthusiast's out there, if the 2019 nationals were A B&M invert, The 2015 New York Mets were A Vekoma SLC, Similar experience but obviously one of those was not worth it.
i was at that mets . padres game
Daniel Murphy finally performing well, but he was also a UFA after the season.
Younis Cespedes was the unsung hero for that 2015 Mets
No mention of Juan Uribe, Kelly Johnson, Addison Reed, and Tyler Clippard?
You should do a video about Max Scherzer’s games that got really close to perfect games but ended unfortunately
I’ve literally been on that coaster
The reason why the Mets have dissapointed so much since 15, is that the team played well over their heads in 15, mainly in the playoffs. Since then, the ownership has prevented the front office from making big signings to strengthen to lineup or bullpen and the signings and trades they have made ended up exploding in their face. The current Yoenis Cespedes contract is one of the worst in sports. He has missed most of the games the Mets have played during that contract due to various injuries from him partying and no longer giving a damn.
Um you put walter locket in for steven matz.....
As a Met fan you really didn't capture this season well. How do you just blow Wilmer Flores night and the series against the Dodgers, and Murphy's home run streak the way you did. Ya Gotta Sell the Drama.
Also don't know a single Met fan that wouldn't want to be reminded of that season.
I literally started crying with that Wilmer walkoff, jumped up out of my chair so high left a dent in the ceiling... completely agree though, there have been very few series more dramatic than that NLCS against the dodgers #F*ckUtley
Yea this guys video is ass def not subbing
Woo! Go Nats!!
I feel like you should have mentioned something about the Ruban Tejada injury during the series vs the dodgers he was a better defensive player then Flores and could have prevented some of the errors
This season was the only time I felt like I was close to my grandpa
