The only difference is that it’s all called kpop (and not labeled as the sub genre a lot of the times) and music in english is just labeled as that genre alone like “rock” or “alternative”. It is different actually. Latin Music as whole has been widely accepted in the United States and a vast majority of the world for over more than 20 years. Despacito is widely accepted because the Latin music genre was already accepted. The original version of Despacito was just as popular worldwide. Justin Bieber was added on and it only a small part of the song's popularity. Kpop isn't as established for worldwide popularity and there aren't many big name Asian artists that had made their name unlike Latino and Hispanic artists.

星言R.A.M soooo basically kpop is kinda takin as a qoute on qoute "pop" music but many of these korean groups do many types of music genres like, rap, pop, r and b, jazz, opera, and even sometimes country. Though you may just see pop mvs... if you look hard even you can find all types of music in the kpop group's music. This is just my own experience as a fairly new kpop fan. And of course I still love American pop. So if you are interested in the genre I suggest looking up bts ( not bc it is popular but bc they arent just pop restricted... they love to experiment with their music. Which is one of the reasons why I love kpop.another reason why I love them is bc they always put eng caps so you can always find the deep meanings in their songs) Kpop kinda gives me a thrill with a new experience every time. If you dont want to listen to bts then many try Got7, SEVENTEEN, EXO, Red Velvet, BlackPink, or even Bigbang. These are types of artist where you can maybe find different types of genre. Kpop in my opinio, stands for pop(but with more spices of music genre mixed in). Thus to conclude, yes kpop is technically "pop" but it can bring much more potential in other music genres. Also kpop dancing is really amazing I recommend watching some of Jhope (bts), and Jimin (bts) danci n vids. If you are into rap/ hiphop then try out RM, Agust D( Suga), Jackson (Got7), GD (Bigbang), Lisa(BlackPink, and JayPark. My personal favs for rap are RM and Suga are because in their mixtapes, their flow and bars are hella HARD. For some more jazzy types I recommend searching up Taehyung's (V BtS) song Stigma, I gives really cool vibes. For the classical peeps there is this song called Lie by Park Jimin (BtS), the instruments in the Bg are amazing. The bts Wings album also have many classical bg in their songs. So there you go.... some types of music in Kpop that I recommend to you. So please dont hate on me for my opinions.... if you are an ARMY and want to rant on me then go ahead I'll just respond with "Love Yourself #LoveMyself", as a fellow ARMY I recommend spreading love instead of hate towards each other. TasinTM Taki ƔƐ I see your point and I argee with you but what I was trying to make was that Spainish is very much considered as a very romantic language along with french compared to lets say korean and cantonese with people who arent in the kpop fandom. There are sexuality in a lot of kpop/jpop songs because as a korean I sometimes cringe when they describe their sex life in lyric form while my non korean friends are oblivious. I've been a fan of kpop and jpop (thanks BoA and DBSK) since I was around 11 and I've watched anime since I was super little. (I'm 20 now.) A few things that have always annoyed me about haters (even people in the international kpop/Jpop/anime community) is if someone is honestly interested in learning an asian language/culture, because they genuinely like it, people end up calling them a koreaboo/Otaku/Weeaboo. Like wtf, you don't call someone who wants to learn literally any other language (Italian, French, Spanish, English, etc.) Something that's intended to be offensive. It's a damn language... I can understand if the person was literally saying they want to be Asian or they were pretending to be, but a majority of the time it's just normal people who enjoy the culture or content. Another thing I don't like is when people find out I'm mostly attracted to asian men (I won't be shocked if I get hate for this, but hear me out. Yes, I'm physically attracted to them. I'll date anyone of any color though, if I liked them and we click, then yeah, obviously, but physically I am mostly attracted to asian men and always have been.) I get hate sometimes from both the asian community and other people. I've heard things like "We/they don't all look like kpop stars." "We're/they're not a fetish" "Stick to your own kind" but I've literally never said "I love ALL asian men. They're so hot" People twist it into something gross and weird! Obviously I'm not going to be attracted to every man I come across (of any color) and even if they are good looking, that doesn't mean I'd like them or want to date them. Yeah, I completely get what you mean. Every race has a certain physical feature that stands out (not to say that everyone will have it, but it is common), so what's wrong with being attracted or not being attracted to those features? People don't consider it offensive say things like "Oh, well I prefer blonde men, but brunettes are cute too." We all have thing's that we like physically, whether it's height, hair color, eye color, and even weight. Personally I'm attracted to asian men because I like their most common physical traits like dark hair, eye shape (both monolids and double eyelids are pretty imo), lips, and facial structure. People are to sensitive and they want to immediately jump to being negative/offended. They'll either see you as over sexualizing a race for simply being attracted to them or being racist for not being into a common feature.

It is different actually. Latin Music as whole has been widely accepted in the United States and a vast majority of the world for over more than 20 years. Despacito is widely accepted because the Latin music genre was already accepted. The original version of Despacito was just as popular worldwide. Justin Bieber was added on and it only a small part of the song's popularity. Kpop isn't as established for worldwide popularity and there aren't many big name Asian artists that had made their name unlike Latino and Hispanic artists.

I don't understand why people hate on K-Pop. K-Pop is a really amazing thing. There is dancing. And, with American music, I don't see really handsome men, or really pretty woman doing sincrenized chereographys. K-Pop has more dancing, and more feeling. And, it's more catchy. If there are K-Pop haters reading this, I hope you understand my point because, K-Pop is amazing.

星言R.A.M soooo basically kpop is kinda takin as a qoute on qoute "pop" music but many of these korean groups do many types of music genres like, rap, pop, r and b, jazz, opera, and even sometimes country. Though you may just see pop mvs... if you look hard even you can find all types of music in the kpop group's music. This is just my own experience as a fairly new kpop fan. And of course I still love American pop. So if you are interested in the genre I suggest looking up bts ( not bc it is popular but bc they arent just pop restricted... they love to experiment with their music. Which is one of the reasons why I love kpop.another reason why I love them is bc they always put eng caps so you can always find the deep meanings in their songs) Kpop kinda gives me a thrill with a new experience every time. If you dont want to listen to bts then many try Got7, SEVENTEEN, EXO, Red Velvet, BlackPink, or even Bigbang. These are types of artist where you can maybe find different types of genre. Kpop in my opinio, stands for pop(but with more spices of music genre mixed in). Thus to conclude, yes kpop is technically "pop" but it can bring much more potential in other music genres. Also kpop dancing is really amazing I recommend watching some of Jhope (bts), and Jimin (bts) danci n vids. If you are into rap/ hiphop then try out RM, Agust D( Suga), Jackson (Got7), GD (Bigbang), Lisa(BlackPink, and JayPark. My personal favs for rap are RM and Suga are because in their mixtapes, their flow and bars are hella HARD. For some more jazzy types I recommend searching up Taehyung's (V BtS) song Stigma, I gives really cool vibes. For the classical peeps there is this song called Lie by Park Jimin (BtS), the instruments in the Bg are amazing. The bts Wings album also have many classical bg in their songs. So there you go.... some types of music in Kpop that I recommend to you. So please dont hate on me for my opinions.... if you are an ARMY and want to rant on me then go ahead I'll just respond with "Love Yourself #LoveMyself", as a fellow ARMY I recommend spreading love instead of hate

I see your point and I argee with you but what I was trying to make was that Spainish is very much considered as a very romantic language along with french compared to lets say korean and cantonese with people who arent in the kpop fandom. There are sexuality in a lot of kpop/jpop songs because as a korean I sometimes cringe when they describe their sex life in lyric form while my non korean friends are oblivious. I'm sorry if I made terrible arguments in my comment I wasn't thinking about how I should make more powerful points instead I was spouting something nonsensical words. In all honesty, I never really got into the whole kpop fandom (its too scary for me). I have only heard of BTS, EXO, and Girls Generation thanks to Twitter and Facebook and their spread to America(as I am an american asian who has never been to Korea). I just got fed up with basic people who were so quick to judge a song just for being in Japanese, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese, and etc. I know Spanish and other European or Latin American languages have great songs too. In case of Despacito, not so good but that doesnt mean all spanish songs are horrible. That wasnt what I was trying say. I know more US/UK bands that are great and wonderful but there are also great Asian pop as well. I didnt wanted to sound as if I was only biased to Korea and hating other languages. I was only trying to point out how some songs use Spanish and French just to mask they're half-baked lyrics and teens (some not all) fall for it without caring what the lyrics mean, saying that it sounds good so it is good. Again I am sincerely sorry about my poor writing and my laziness I hope you didnt take so much offense to this. Also please do not immediately judge others of who they might be, not just me but others as well.
I also wanted to say that because at the time my friend was heavily mocked for liking Japanese music. Calling her a weeb and japanese fanatic while ironically they listen to a foreign song that they dont understand.
Just a side note: I added that Gucci Gang joke there for my attempt for comedic effect/relief but I guess that failed. 😓💧💧💧It wasnt about the language but the ridiculous repetition. I've been a fan of kpop and jpop (thanks BoA and DBSK) since I was around 11 and I've watched anime since I was super little. (I'm 20 now.)
A few things that have always annoyed me about haters (even people in the international kpop/Jpop/anime community) is if someone is honestly interested in learning an asian language/culture, because they genuinely like it, people end up calling them a koreaboo/Otaku/Weeaboo. Like wtf, you don't call someone who wants to learn literally any other language (Italian, French, Spanish, English, etc.) Something that's intended to be offensive. It's a damn language... I can understand if the person was literally saying they want to be Asian or they were pretending to be, but a majority of the time it's just normal people who enjoy the culture or content.
Another thing I don't like is when people find out I'm mostly attracted to asian men (I won't be shocked if I get hate for this, but hear me out. Yes, I'm physically attracted to them. I'll date anyone of any color though, if I liked them and we click, then yeah, obviously, but physically I am mostly attracted to asian men and always have been.) I get hate sometimes from both the asian community and other people. I've heard things like "We/they don't all look like kpop stars." "We're/they're not a fetish" "Stick to your own kind" but I've literally never said "I love ALL asian men. They're so hot" People twist it into something gross and weird! Obviously I'm not going to be attracted to every man I come across (of any color) and even if they are good looking, that doesn't mean I'd like them or want to date them. Also, just because I'm usually attracted to men who happen to be asian, doesn't mean I'm making them into a "fetish" 😒. 9/10 when you want to get to know a cute guy/girl, it starts either because they thought you were cute or you thought they were, and THEN you decide to get to know them. This was long af, but just wanted to get that off my chest lol. 😧
That's kinda the same as me not being into black men. I'm not racist, I have nothing against them, to me, all that matters if the other is a good or a bad person, heck I could fall in love with a black man, it's just that some characteristics their race has (wide nose, big mouth) is not my type. But I can't talk about it, because everybody would be triggered, call me racist, and say that things like these are the first steps to slavery and stuff like that, like biatch what? I've just said all that matters is personality. It's just like how caucasians usually discuss amongst themselves whether they like blonde or brown haired guys/girls more...
Yeah, I completely get what you mean. Every race has a certain physical feature that stands out (not to say that everyone will have it, but it is common), so what's wrong with being attracted or not being attracted to those features? People don't consider it offensive say things like "Oh, well I prefer blonde men, but brunettes are cute too." We all have thing's that we like physically, whether it's height, hair color, eye color, and even weight. Personally I'm attracted to asian men because I like their most common physical traits like dark hair, eye shape (both monolids and double eyelids are pretty imo), lips, and facial structure. People are to sensitive and they want to immediately jump to being negative/offended. They'll either see you as over sexualizing a race for simply being attracted to them or being racist for not being into a common feature.

I totally feel the same way.. I currently learn korean because I'm interested in the culture and think about living Korea for a little while. But when it comes to learning the language I'm genuinely afraid to learn korean in public like at a Coffee shop, the library or other places because I'm afraid to be called a Koreaboo. I shouldn't be but I still am because it's the first thing other people think then it comes to that. I'm getting really tired of this..
