Idea for your outlets. I had a built in fireplace wall put in years ago. I had them install the outlets in the closed cupboard on the bottom and they drilled a small hole up into the shelf above. That allows me to plug a small lamp in while hiding the cord down in the cupboard. Twenty years later I still love that feature.
Seriously, the amount of vision you have is astounding. You really inspire me and have had a huge influence on how my style has evolved. For example embracing and incorporating some of the beautiful pieces that I have inherited. And some of the choices I made for recent house renovations that I am incredibly happy with! Thank you for taking us along with you! 💕
I've mentioned this over and over again, you were born to do this type of work, you inspire every single person that's in this channel. I just love that tv frame is so wonderfully made.

We need a list!! Nothing gets done without one. Wow you did so well on that frame, once the rub-n-buff went on it all came together to be a realistic, ornate, vintage frame. It's not too much or too little on any design aspect, everything is just right. Looking forward to summer in the storybook house! ✨🌙✨
Your frame is gorgeous and very much adds an extra artistic look to your fireplace, you are amazing. The fabric you chose is perfect, just so rich and stunning. Welcome back to CA, looking forward to your new home projects.♥️The way you went from Texas to Ca , looking for fabric, very cleaver!
I need a moody cottage video on a loop, just imagine... candles lit, fireplace on, Kinsley napping. Dark and moody, maybe a storm outside. I'd play that on repeat for all of the relaxation moments.
im honestly relieved you feel the same way about the pink brick bc i kept thinking that all along, it was distracting my eyes from the color pallet that you have going on which work in harmony so well! the pinkish brick is certainly a distraction, almost like it doesn’t belong! i bet youll find the perfect solution & i cant wait to see it💪🏻 good job with everything so far!
I love the chocolate velvet! But I would love to see a pattern in your living room space!! I think it would help tie all the blocks of color together! A beautiful vintage pattern would be stunning ❤️
Looove how the frame looks with the picture light above! I know it might be a little to late for this observation but I think it would've been a nice touch if you added a velvet or linen ribbon to the flat surface of the frame in between the two molding pieces, a lovely detail that I've seen you like to find in some your vintage/ thrifted frames. Just an idea in case you have to do another one jajaja ✨
YES!!!!!!!!!! This is my most FAVORITE McKenna video she's done in months! Great job!!!!!!! OMG the living room looks absolutely phenomenal. All that hard work has paid off!
I came here to make the same comment. Even though she is careful and is very neat, accidents happen occasionally to everyone. Why take the chance? Does she not like the aesthetics of a plastic sheet or drop cloth in the video? It’s hard for me to understand as she often does not use a drop cloth, such as when she as doing the trim stain in the living room. One bump of a can of pain or stain can really mess up the floor or that dining table. Why not take that extra precaution?
Oh my gosh the difference that gel stain & rub and buff made! One of those details that I wouldn't have even consider, but makes such an impact in the final look! It's totally the perfect frame for your beautiful space 🤍😍
If you're friends with any of your neighbors or store owners, when you're all done, you should invite them over for a tea party or something along those lines.
It looks great McCenna! Girl you should really explore wax. You put on clear wax, buff it up then add dark wax. It would do your low deep creavis & then you wipe buff the dark wax. The clear coat first controls the dark wax. Then you can put your rub & buff on. It's also sorta wax but grabs much more than just a regular furniture wax. This would work well on the fireplace mantel as well. The wax is a sealed finish on its own. Wax is the last thing you put on. Its a very nice spealer & makes it easy to clean & wipe off dust & such. Water proof as well. Try it you will love it! It will make your detailing much easier.
@@janetbof4 No furniture wax dries hard after it cures. A good dark wax would be much easier than how she's doing it. It's designed to brush on leave a couple of hrs. Or whatever the wax calls to do. And it will add so much to the cracks creves & detail. You wax in wax off & buff to a beautiful finish .
Dear MaCenna, I have loved your videos for a long time and always can't wait for a new one to come online. A little tip about your frame (which turned out great, by the way): I would suggest you to put a washer between the screw and the rubber band (on the backside of the frame). So the screw has more contact surface in the rubber and does not tear you so quickly. And believe me, it WILL tear eventually, as rubber loses its plasticizers over time. All the best from Germany, Dagi
The frame is amazing and the picture light just finishes it off beautifully. The chairs will be so gorgeous when re-upholstered. They were the bargain of the century! Looking forward to seeing everything finished 😊
@@ang_131 if it was me I would definitely replace the foam, no matter what condition it’s in. The thought of somebody’s old dead skin cells in my chairs would creep me out lol
I love the whole vibe of this living room!!😍 I also found it funny how you said, "we are going to stop by California for fabric" hehe love the commitment to getting the perfect fabric 😅
I have a house built in 1900. I tried to keep as much character in it and I'm happy you did it too. To many times people just rip every thing out and make it to modern. Old homes just have character/history that should be preserved. Great work!!!
You know you know what you’re doing when u make someone with a completely different design style love your space. It all just come together so beautifully
The TV frame is beautiful and just the right touch for your tv with your mom's art. The picture light above was inspired. Now to see your exciting reno ideas in California. ☀
Your windows would look great with inset Roman Blinds. Because the window frames are ornate the three windows should be treated as one window with Dress Curtains at either side, pulling the whole thing together. Put the curtain pole about 1 foot above the top of the windows and about 10" out at either side. This way the window frames are visible, the blinds give you privacy and a curtain at each side will give a cosy effect.....😄🇬🇧🦋
I saw large glass jars in blue with lights inside around a pool it was so beautiful at night glowing and giving off light. ( indoor pool) I though going with solar light to cap off the ups and outside just mite be a dream look. One day.
There is just no end to you talents! The frame looks fantastic and the picture light is the perfect touch! Your mothers art work in there is just the icing on the cake! I love all of it! ❤️
If you have the time one day, maybe you can explain us how to see tone and undertone, I'm not sure I can do this, you always see things that I don't and how to match them, it's amazing ^^ The frame is just beautiful and the "light" really finishes all.
I’ve seen a few people do the Frame DIY but I have waiting you YOU to tackle this b/c your techniques are thorough yet efficient and your result is always superb. You should post a short video showing just that project.
I have no words! It is so tremendously beautiful 😍 I think when the project is over, you should sell some tickets to tourists to visit it during a week or so. Because it's like a castle. Just wanted to say that they make brick stain (not paint) if you wanna try to get a color you like more before grouting! :)

I like the brick. Maybe in person it looks more pink, but I like the texture of it.
The frame with the picture light turned out perfect! As usual…❤
I agree about the brick. She actually has touches of pink in the flowers and throw pillow that bring it all together.
Kinsley is SO polite when she wants to play 💛 the way she just quietly brings her toys to momma is just 🥺 way too damn cute.
I know right 🥺😍😍 She is so precious
Kinsley dropping her ball in your lap is EVERYTHING!! Great job on the frame! Love how your living room is looking - very cozy, very beautiful!
I know! That made me laugh out loud and was so delicate. And when she put it under the table @ 9:43... I can't deal with the cuteness..
I know she likely gets so much attention but every time she drops something, I'm like "Please play with that baby!!!"
It's like an easter egg honestly! It's making me focus a lot more on the vid just to see when she's gonna drop the ball 😂
