Finally a freaking MGS4 speedrun done properly. I was sickened of those players using the Big Boss camo and facecamo... It ruined the playthrough imo. Left a like ! Now... Let's watch this.
Yea, I also wish mgs4 would get remastered for ps5 or ps4. Even if graphics were the same and it just got better frame rate, it would be the only game I’d play for a while.

@@SiafuCJ8 bro modders, PC enthusiasts and backwards engineers have tried to port that game to PC natively. It doesn’t even work 100% with emulation systems because it’s coded so crazy complicated.

Drebin’s part can be very annoying as well, get both the bike part and Drebin’s part where you ride on the tank and you’re smooth sailing. Both of these are hard but the part at 20:54 is where I get spotted the most. Idk why but I always get spotted and fail here more than anywhere else.
Is no one talking about the laughing octopus facecamo makes you get by pmcs and the resistance???! I never knew that yoo that whole part draaggged. Love this game though played it so many times xoxox you killed it man
Yeah, however it can be quite weird at times, you have to make sure that they are completely neutral with you, killing or knocking out one guard (like the guard at the very beginning of the militia safe house) is enough to cause them to shoot you on sight instead of telling you not to move so you can hand them the ration. Still a really cool feature nonetheless! That’s the thing about this game, there is always something that you may discover or see that you didn’t see before or many times.
@@LeonWick526 Yeah you come into the game disguised in a truck of them, so you can either keep them neutral (wont shoot but will ask you to stand still for inspections), be friends, or indeed be foes of them too.
Though of course the PMCs owned by Liquid Ocelot and his B&B lieutenants are set to "always-hostile" obviously, just in case anyone was wondering, so don't even bother trying to be "nice" and attempt to hand those guys items.
Pff, please... That can easily be done if you're carefully sneaking. It's the "on-rails bike escape" sequence that's the *real nightmare* to get through without dying, using items and non-lethally (though the usual indirect kills via explosive barrels are fine of course) for the vaunted Big Boss emblem.

Act 1 is difficult but it’s probably my favorite. And yes, bike chase is quite tricky but it gets easier with repeated runs and practice. And crying wolf fight has some rng which makes it more difficult. For me, crying wolf fight is where I typically mess something up.
Here’s an explanation… essentially Spartyy is making snake pull out his gun and point it at the guard thus performing a holdup, in fact, if you listen close you can hear snake say “freeze.” This is the reason as to why he doesn’t get caught. But you can also just run straight through the guard which scares him and has a similar effect. Either way it is still pretty funny.
Question, at 2:38 after I stun this guard and continue running, there is a guard that always spots me through the fence on the left. How do you prevent this? It’s some guard that just kind of walks up from a doorway on the other side of the fence and sees me, am I being too slow?
You might be shooting the soldier too fast and not waiting long enough. You also can't practice this area from a "Continue". If you use a continue, the guard positions will be different and it won't work all the time

Just a complete guess: Because the Beauties are kinda battlefield commanders for the PMCs, impersonating one of them makes the soldiers ignore you. It doesn't make a lot of sense in terms of realism, but could just be a handwavy gameplay thing, like the bandana in MGS2 giving you infinite ammo.
You can tranq the last frog in the first wave and keep her in a coughing loop with smoke grenades. Eventually she falls asleep but for some reason also skips the next few waves of frogs
@@Spartyyy It's funny, you can do something similar with The End in MGS3 by damaging him at the warehouse entrance in Ponizovje, either using the Dragunov SVD or by blowing up the fuel drum, lowering his health and stamina during the fight at Sokrovenno. More well known is the fact that you can kill him should you headshot him, leading to him being replaced by the Ocelot Unit. It's actually faster to fight him at Sokrovenno due to the detour you need to make to get the SVD and the patrol routes being slower than the regular boss fight.
Might get the PS3 out and play this again, but need to go buy it physical because I reckon the PS3 will be taken off the network soon Tell you one thing I don't think I use half of the weapons this game has personally

This is insane. I did a Big Boss run around 15 years ago but I saved and reloaded 100s of times. Respect!

MGS is not a hard game at all.
The hard part is the ride bike. if you pass that, you win the emblem

I've never played this game and I'm surprised to see you can avoid alert mode by bribing guards with rations.
Those are Militias, they are local rebels. If you kill PMCs they also see you as friendly, Rations or the Militia Costume also work.

Lol, it’s nit actually too bad. However, there is quite a bit of rng, especially in areas where the militia and pmc are fighting.

Act 1, bike run, and crying wolf. Those to me seem the trickiest parts.
Act 1 is difficult but it’s probably my favorite. And yes, bike chase is quite tricky but it gets easier with repeated runs and practice. And crying wolf fight has some rng which makes it more difficult. For me, crying wolf fight is where I typically mess something up.
I’ll never get over that one pmc on act one who we literally WALK INTO and he doesn’t even notice

I'm not sure the count but most of the trial and error was finding the most optimal combination of weapons and items to use during act 1
