Yes this is great the Argo Raft is a very cool ride it also has a huge and I mean hugh fuel tank for Quantum travel,if you put the fastest drive in it which is the XL-1 you get speed 260,701 and a max distance of ready for it 1150.33GM it cost 94900 and is at Orison or Port Tressler and if you put the most efficient drive in which is the Hemera you get speed of 126,626 and a distance of 3286.67 GM it cost 38250 at CRU-L1 or CRU-L5 and if you put the most fuel conservative drive in it which is the Sparkfire speed of 74,486 Km/s and a distance of 5061.47 GM it cost 56100 at grim hex or Bajini point.I think this is the longest distance ship in the game as far as drive to fuel tank ratio. Not to mention the ship is pretty cool the way it's laid out and it's great for out of atmosphere but flies like a brick in atmosphere,I put 2 JS-400 for power plants and 2 FR-76 shields and then 2 Snowpack coolers and went with the Hemera Drive and armed it with all Dominance 1 laser scatter guns and the remote turret with 2 size 3 Dominance laser scatter guns as well,it's not a fighter so hit them hard and run.they will bloody their noses while you try and jump. The 96 scu I wish was 4 racks and 128 to compete with the freelancer max and the new RSI coming out but it is what it is,I think its as cool if not better in different ways than the hull A more armor for one it is beefy and it's living quarters is pretty well laid out like the Mole.Great video and topic so happy this has come full circle to win back people.
sad to said I belive the super usefull Quantum tank is a comma error I have not dared to bring up, becuse I dont want CIG to remove it, but.. QT tank ARGO Mole 2'758,5 And QT tank ARGO SRV 2'758,5 And then the QT tank ARGO Raft 27'585 Hm.. Somewhat familiar numbers... Hush.. Dont want them to takeaway games bigest QT tank on a size 2 QT. almost as big as on the Carrack, Half the size of Hull-C, but those ships has a bigger QT that consumes more. Without checking I would guess that the Raft has the longest qt range in the game. And the interior.. I love the Raft, but I am waiting every patsh for the dev hammer to strike the obvius comma error qt tank.
as someone who has flown the freelancers as cargo i can tell you their size is deceptive, if you really want to fill all of those super small tiny slots i guess it has more space. but if you go by what i call "easy cargo space" the raft has it beat its entire scus is easy cargo space
I think this would look better if the arms lowered down, and the crates can fit onto flat racks. Flat racks can exchange out for a single larger container. But I gotta be realistic here, and know that will only add to the dev time of the project. Maybe in the distant future. For now, this makes the raft way more useful. Edit: maybe 6 flat rack or 6 16 SCU crates, or a mix looks feasible.
This ship always was a weird design to me, so much complexity and space for just 3 32 SCU boxes, the ship is 10 times bigger than the cargo it can holds
They should just remove the cranes and put a standard cargo plate there. Give it something like 8x32 SCUs in two layers of 4. There's not a lot in the 250 SCU range too, would fill a good niche.
Velcro ship 2000 but yea would be worth it weight in gold to haul novas, ballista, and spartan or carry torps to put into a Polaris or Colossus bombs for a A2, carry massive construction pieces or mass amounts of resources. I could see them carrying boxes of solid or resources or tanks of gas or tanks of water or oil. I see it painted parts black with caution stripes with the main box painted John Deere green with some yellow notes on it. I see on it as the landing legs come down spinning caution lights with light slicing through dust clouds.
Awesome how it’s loaded. I’ve been using a Taurus which is pretty easy to load. Had a couple of boxes glitch out while loading, just have to be careful not to bounce them around a lot just like boxes on reclaimer.
these are amazing changes. i was previously upset it could snap only big cargo. this on the other side, gives much more capabilities to different gameplay options
It's nice that you can use different boxes everywhere, but actually that makes absolutely no sense, because the smaller boxes float freely in the room... There is no cargogrid or anything similar that could "hold" the boxes.
They just need to make 32 containers openable with a grid inside to put in 1-2-8 SCUS boxes in. As it was originally designed to do. The entire idea of the Raft is saving time by load and unloading three 32 SCU containers quickly. This change defeats the entire purpose of the ship.
Thanks. There is something very appealing about the RAFT but, like you, i upgraded it to something else because at the time it just did not make logistical sense. Now I have a reason to get it back! 😊
It should be albe to carry 6 of the big crates not 3 the arms could split an you could lower them an put the second set underneath they wouldn't touch the ground . . Not yhat you can even buy a raft or srv . . When do they go in the shop again ?
does this fix the issue with refinery jobs? it felt like if i had a mining job that had like 4-5 different materials, the raft would place a box, then place another box over the first one and delete the original box
This is a very early time in this feature. I can only imagine that there will be certain racks or binders that will hold this together to give it more flexibility, as shown.
Big win. But maybe they'll let us have our interior inventory again, cause right now 3.24 has ruined my RAFT. Something simple like dragging food, armor, etc. into my ship has now turned into a pain in the ass with physicalized inventory. The RAFT doesn't have a giant cargo door to make moving stuff inside of it easy!
I just brought a 2 for a couple of my accounts, i think this is as far a i want to take cargo, yet who knows. This little ship is coming into its own, look forward to seeing the : Herald/Terrapin and explorers in the not to distant months. Fun times
I don't know that I'm sold on the Raft. Or the smaller Hulls, for that matter. It seems to me that the ability to store internally (e.g., Freelanter MAX) is > than external-only (but I did see the ISC where they stored everything possible on external cargo grids, so maybe that will negate my complaint).
I kinda hope they will get rid of the clamps and attachment pads like on the hull a that don’t fold up. Then they could add a fourth one for 128 scu and it would be the perfect mid size trader
The loading racks underneath the raft don't work? How are the boxes holding in place there's nothing underneath them? To me the design and look of the raft needs to be changed if you're just able to use a tractor beam and snap it in it should just be a full lift that comes down
If only the raft weren't completely defenseless and it didn't use way too much fuel for its size. It needs some love, but this is a big improvement over the completely bugged cargo handling it had before this newest iteration.
A welcome change for sure. Still looks a bit clunky with those crane feet getting in the way but eh. Makes this ship actually viable for space salvage recovery as well as the obvious cargo hauling. It still has its issues but gawd I love the Argo design language.
Glad to see it become a useful ship, but did they ever fix the elevator? The last time I messed with a Raft you had to jump out the docking port to exit the ship 3.17 era.
need to rebuy a RAFT it became a CCU to the arastra last year so kinda feeling a DENT in my stable ships. (might rebuy the cutlass BIS then upgrade it to keep the paint because the Raft becomes an expanse)
SuperMacBrother this looks absolutely amazing and thank you for doing this cause I'm very happy for all those who ownership. Because it will now make them even happier and goes to show that CIG is indeed listening to us backers and they are working very hard and making the game better. In addition, I have to say I like the way you have your character in game because it looks very much like you sir. Plus, on a little note for those who are using the Intel 13,000 series and 14,000 series CPU there is currently a huge problem with that ship and if your game is crashing on you it is more than likely the CPU chip that is the cause of the problem and not the game. If you have the CPU chip then start looking up news on Intel because I strongly recommend that you watch the videos from Gamers Nexus to get more details on it and to see if you can be compensated through Intel for what they have done to you if you own this trip. Because Intel had knowingly sold you a defective product and we're trying to keep it hidden from the general public and got caught with their pants down.
I love this but that has to be a bug! The whole premise was that it is supposed to just use the 32SCU crates I thought (I’ll have to double check the FAQ)
Tell us if you still get ejected from the ship while exiting the pilot's seat and traveling at quantum speed. Tell us if you can bed log. Tell us if you get attacked and destroyed by Ai while inside an armistice zone (mining facility on Wala) with a full load of bought/paid commodities.
As someone who has been hauling in it for the past 3 weeks - No, yes, and no. I have been dropping off my hauling mission stuff, flying into orbit, and bed logging for the night no problems.
No, in 3.23 you can't stack multiple boxes like you can in the video -- you can only put one box per crane arm. So they actually fixed how it worked prior to 3.24 and you can not use modular box stacking for the Argo to make up its 96 SCU cargo, which is awesome.
I wish I could play 3.24 properly. Nothing but issues for me so far. Either 30031 issue when trying to join a shard, half my pledges missing in PTU after copying or the Hangar doesn't let me exit, no matter what I do.
The RAFT is a speed demon for loading, but it's painfully slow in flight. The real question is, is it faster than a similar cargo capacity ship like a Freelancer MAX?
FreeMax is a tad faster and for base FreeMax has more shields than the RAFT, but the RAFT’s QT/Hydro tanks are HUGE/hold more than the FreeMax. So the trade off really is more SCU for the MAX but you cannot get the mileage like the RAFT (which has little less scu).
Ok. So the over-sized, under capable cargo ship is no longer also limited by a box issue that no other cargo ships had? How is that "amazing". Just seems "less broken". The Hull B at around the same price has 4x the cargo.
Raft is a cargo shit...specially if you trying to load per 1 scu cargo You will have trouble decking 1 scu on top of another scu box on the edge of the cargo hold. Is ok if you are using it for selling mining haul. Because it can autoload directly to the ship, and lots of time mining use bigger SCU cargo box. But if you are trying to sell salvage scu box from Vulture, because vulture using per 1 scu box. don't use Raft is you are selling 96 scu at once, better get freelancer or Hull A
its reccomended you only put 3 32 scu boxes so this way the there is no issue if the grid fritzes it wont eject all that over the place. and the downside they nerfed the rafts scm speed worse than catapillar and a hull a. so be prepared for 90 or a lil highter. thank you for showcasing this mac. o7

Its good to see them getting things like this fixed
thanks for this video, I couldn't find anything that showcased the cargo grid itself.
Argo Tetris unlocked
I have upgraded my RAFT to the Conny Taurus
It needs a touch more storage or extension racks you can buy and an attachment point for the meck.
The RAFT deserves so much love. Glad to see this. I still hope she gets a big sister some day in the Caterpillar-to-Ironclad range.
They need to rework the argo raft. If it is going to hold cargo like that, then it needs more clamps or an enclosed drop-down cargo bay
They just need to make 32 containers openable with a grid inside to put in 1-2-8 SCUS boxes in.
As it was originally designed to do.
The entire idea of the Raft is saving time by load and unloading three 32 SCU containers quickly.
This change defeats the entire purpose of the ship.
Love these snippets, as I watch this, I've just been notified of the next one about potential of cargo hangers, keep em coming Mac
Just wait till you have to manually swap components.... it's a whole experience :D
Thanks. There is something very appealing about the RAFT but, like you, i upgraded it to something else because at the time it just did not make logistical sense. Now I have a reason to get it back! 😊

Are they going to widen up the clamps?
does this fix the issue with refinery jobs? it felt like if i had a mining job that had like 4-5 different materials, the raft would place a box, then place another box over the first one and delete the original box
I really like the Argo industrial design CIG have been able to put together.
This is a very early time in this feature. I can only imagine that there will be certain racks or binders that will hold this together to give it more flexibility, as shown.
Sweet! Never thought this shop was any good, but this does make it more interesting...
Two questions!
Is the top speed in atmo any higher now?
Does its tractor beam work now?
Quick snippets are awesome! Thanks for sharing.
If only the inverted the cargo grid - that's the only downside. You have to really squeeze stuff in there to pack it to the full 96SCU.
"The ARGO RAFT is AMAZING" that's a sentence i never thought i will hear . . . unless if someone start an SC comedy channel.
Do you think it will compete with Railen & Hull B Mac?
I just brought a 2 for a couple of my accounts, i think this is as far a i want to take cargo, yet who knows. This little ship is coming into its own, look forward to seeing the : Herald/Terrapin and explorers in the not to distant months. Fun times
This is great news! I like the Raft design, but its claw things never did work well. This change is going to work VERY well with cargo missions.
I don't know that I'm sold on the Raft. Or the smaller Hulls, for that matter. Just noticed they also increased HP and turn rates...
I have to wonder though, can someone not in your group tractor them off? I would gather not as long as shields are up?
The RAFT is such a nicely designed ship and this is a huge QOL win for it.
The loading racks underneath the raft don't work? How are the boxes holding in place there's nothing underneath them? To me the design and look of the raft needs to be changed if you're just able to use a tractor beam and snap it in it should just be a full lift that comes down
Nice. I bought a RAFT in game before the ship price increase, so hopefully there won't be an item wipe in 3.24.
That's actually nice. 😊
Thanks, looks like it will be fun once in the PU.
They need to allow a ramp for the ATLS. There is room.
Did u get a chance to test the tractor beam on the raft?
There is none yet AFAIK.
If only the raft weren't completely defenseless and it didn't use way too much fuel for its size. It needs some love, but this is a big improvement over the completely bugged cargo handling it had before this newest iteration.
Oh that is so awesome thanks for showing this

They fixed that a while ago from what I've seen.
Yes. The elevator works now.
nice video. the boxes stack sort of weird as they don't look like they're supported by anything in places but it'll get tweaked I'm sure.
Thanks for the good news about the raft.
Oh this is fantastic, it actually makes the raft attractive.
need to rebuy a RAFT
it became a CCU to the arastra last year so kinda feeling a DENT in my stable ships. (might rebuy the cutlass BIS then upgrade it to keep the paint because the Raft becomes an expanse)
Tractor beam when? I actually use the C1 tractor beam for 3.24 cargo missions. The RAFT needs its tractor beam.
4.0 is going to all the ship reworks, expect it then. But also be prepared it won't be lol

Can you make routes on the on foot map yet anyone know?
That is awesome! That was the question I had for this ship! It is enjoyable to fly!
Yes.
I personally love my RAFT, however.. it's supposed to have its own tractor beam.
Why is Mac using the hand tool?
I love this but that has to be a bug! The whole premise was that it is supposed to just use the 32SCU crates I thought (I’ll have to double check the FAQ)
i just got myself a hull a and a raft and will see wich i like more :D the other one will get melted again :D
great news for my fave ship
Finally! Love my raft! Gameplay is more important than realism.... In this case
Another top nock video, thanks mate
I love this ship, but for a ship thats whole gimmic is fast loading, it sure is one of the slowest ships to load in the entire game
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Lancer Max beats the Raft at like everything.
I can confirm the last is still a problem. I haven't checked in 3.24 yet though.
As someone who has been hauling in it for the past 3 weeks - No, yes, and no. I have been dropping off my hauling mission stuff, flying into orbit, and bed logging for the night no problems.
Hmm, does the Argo RAFT handle like a brick house like the MOLE does, or is it better?
The SCU storage limit is just so low vs the size of the ship, makes no sense at all, should carry tripple at least... 100SCU+
Now time to put in furinture
I just wanted to say the should completely delete the clamp system and make an upside down cargo grid.
That seems like a bug(unintended feature) that will get fixed. There is no reason for them to be hanging in midair without a cargogrid.
No, in 3.23 you can't stack multiple boxes like you can in the video -- you can only put one box per crane arm. So they actually fixed how it worked prior to 3.24 and you can not use modular box stacking for the Argo to make up its 96 SCU cargo, which is awesome.

F**k off that pistol can lift that much and project that far. Looks ridiculous
FINALLY I can get rid of my C2!
This is great news!
Very handy but so unrealistic as they are just floating in the air at the start...
Is that all the raft can do?
Pretty much. Its a cargo hauler
It's about time they made the Raft useful... Oh wait...
This is great 👍
you can already do this in 3.23. tbh the floating boxes are lame
I dont get it. Why would i do that?
If only the f****** tractor being worked!!! They literally sold this ship for this patch..
Everytime i see that stupid beam the game game completely breaks down for as lose all emersion and will to even play
Ugly design, they should put an inverted cargo grid and shut up about it.
exactly, do it like the ARGO MPUV-T
the tractor beam is STILL BROKEN. Come on Ryan its not USEFUL. Been over a year and NO WORKING tractor beam. terrible
TYSM o7
handy, looks a bit silly though, they need to tweak that model. ^^
Totally did not work when I tried to be honest. And I try since early Evocati.
