I’m a trucker, and I ordered one from Sweetwater while out traveling the country. It’s waiting for me when I get home, and hopefully it will be perfect for out on the road!
The pedal can store up to 150 presets at a time that model everything from modern metal rigs to individual pedals. What's more, if you've got a collection of impulse responses (IRs) you've collected, you can load them on the pedal as well to customize your selection of cabinets, and the pedal even has mic simulation built in, so you can plug straight into your DAW without having to sacrifice "room tone".

This is the reason i do play combos only because i'm to old and slow to capture an oversized MESA cabinet on wheels This stand alone box might be the thing to fit my style best: i tent to stay alone whenever i get over the first 3-5 bars

Can you PLEASE explain what you re playing it through? is it going through that Marshall behind you both? Is it coming out of PA system not in shot? a mixture of both? or is it going straight into a DAW via a laptop/PC? Also, if it is coming from the Marshall Amp, wouldn't that change the sound of another "Amp profile" being played through it (you know, 'colour' the sound somewhat?? and how would you set the EQ/Controls on another Amp when using this Pedal .. flat? so many unanswered questions..
Hi, as mentioned from 11:21 in the video we go directly into a DI box, so we're not using any amps. From the DI box we go straight into the audio interface and into the DAW. I hope that helps. Cheers //Kris
It doesn't have a delay and neither an effect loop, does it? It's of course possible to put a delay pedal after the ToneX, but then you would have to switch it separately as long as it has no midi. In my opinion they should really have added an effects loop.
No effects loop, no effects (Delay, chorus etc.) so, it' just a fancy distortion/over drive. Also, how fast is the switching and when you change presets, you have no idea where your tone settings are. sorry.

I don’t think it is so much of the price of the Quad Cortex or the Kemper. To me it is how huge they are. We are literally in 2023, I don’t think these companies understand the power of making something easily aaccessible to use on a already made pedal board. I will not just buy* something due to the fact that it has a touch screen or because it has lure of great German tech. No offense these companies are literally gonna get smashed when line 6 does there own version of a Captor/profile pedal. GAME-OVER! They have too much mula!
well guys just download the demo software n play the 5th patch (Bright loud clean) fender tween, strum the song "long train running" to my ears it sounds to flat (plastic) specially the high strings, playing single notes its ok. first clean pacth on s-gear sound more natural to my ears. I wonder if the pedal sounds the same!
Nice to see this as a Hardware, would love to see it as a Mutli Effects Floor unit to compete the QuadCortex. ToneX has so much potential to give a feasible alternativ to the QC.
Hey, it looks like IK Multimedia went in another direction. Instead of putting everything in one pricey unit they made the separate X-Gear pedals so you can decide which one you want and which don't. It's more of a modular system, while the QuadCortex is an all-in unit. Cheers //Kris

@@nethbt The NUX MG30 is a very nice board, but i didnt keep it because of the limited amout effects. The Amp Modeling is very good for the Price but to buy it just for Effects would be a waste of Money in my optinion. And it doesnt have Midi, so you would need to switch 2 Units. I have no experience with the Valetone but it seems better in terms of effects than the MG30. And the Valeton has Midi and Balanced Outputs wich the MG30 doesnt have.
No delay option at all? Then how are you supposed to get delay since there is no effects loop. Straight in the front doesn't work for me. Im also not going to be hooked up to a computer all the time.

@@shreddyz Yes but it has built in reverb so if You would use reverb from TONEX you need to send signal with reverb into external effects. In this case reverb is first in the effect chain, personally I use reverb as last effect in my signal chain.
@@shreddyz I know. In that case reverb in Tonex Pedal will be unused and you need to buy stereo pedals (delay, chorus, additional reverb) if You have stereo settings in Tonex. Of course Tonex sounds great, it will do the job well on stage if someone need only reverb or record guitar parts in studio. I see some problems with sending signal straight to PA from TONEX PEDAL but probably I will buy it because of sound.

IK products are some of my favorite, ToneX, SampleTank 4, Syntronik 2 are all great! No need to lug big amps around anymore unless you want to.

You CAN put IT into the effects loop of something like an HX Effects or HX Stomp, which is exactly what I intend to do.

It doesn’t. The software that comes with it allows you to capture amps en drive/distortion pedals, but you need a reamp box separately for it.

The whole thing is line level so you could just plug it into effects.

I'd use it in the fxloop return of a solid state amp without the emulated cab. If you're using it as a modeller for overdrives, in front.
