Shannen Doherty’s Mom Speaks Out, Doctor Says She 'WASN'T READY to Leave'

- Shannen Doherty’s mother is breaking her silence on her devastating loss, calling Shannen “my beautiful girl and my heart.” According to her doctor and friend Dr. Lawrence Piro, Doherty’s fighting spirt was always there until her body just wouldn’t let her continue. He says she “wasn’t ready to leave because she loved life.”
Grew up on 90210.
What a fighter she was till the end 💪🏼.

I am in awe of what Shannen has done to bring awareness to people living with cancer. She has shown us how much can be accomplished while someone is dealing with terminal cancer. I think she will continue to be a big part of discussions of living with cancer. She used her fame in service of so many people who live with and die of cancer. If I can say so, I’m really proud of her. She did a great thing with her life! RIP Shannen. ❤
Time is so short. I remember her being 20 like it was a year ago. Always thought she was so uniquely gorgeous like no other. One of a kind.

Wow. This beautiful young lady taken way to soon. I am a 3 time breast cancer survivor, I know how she felt going through all the treatments. It takes alot out of you. A very brave young woman. Time flies so fast. It seemed like yesterday that she was just a young 15 year old girl in Our House which is not even 40 years ago. Time flies so much and life is short.

Even through all the bad news, the sick days, the fear, and the tears, she still wasn’t ready to leave because she loved life. Anyone else could’ve been physically, emotionally, and mentally drained and ready to give in, and that would’ve been just fine. Not Shannen though. Nope, not the girl who was never afraid to go against the grain in the pursuit of what was right. Shannen, you were nothing if not fierce, and we weren’t ready for you to leave either 💔

As the son of a mother who died from cancer in 2016 i understand her mother's heartbreak over losing her daughter because it is against the natural order of life for her to go first. My mom had ovarian cancer and my grandma spent the rest of her life missing her daughter but they are now together and that gives me a feeling of peace. My mom was 50 when she passed. I offer my sincerest and heartfelt condolences to Ms. Doherty and the rest of her family

The world can better beautiful but also cruel at the same time. She didn’t deserve this and to have someone so strong and courageous to go like this is devastating. Shannen was one of a kind and a rarity in life. I pray for her mama! I can’t imagine losing my child and best friend especially before her time. My prayers to her family and friends! She had a bonded close knit of friends that were with her until her last breath. May God wrap his loving arms around everyone.
