    Wow. This is such a good resource! I've just spent a frustrating 1.75 hours just sitting in my newly acquired UX250h Takumi, with the User Guide, trying to get to grips with the infotainment system. Hmmmm..... not good. Then I remembered this video (which I had found when researching my Lexus - but before I'd bought one). What a godsend this is! Clear, concise, well filmed, good narrative. And it covers so much more. It's going to be my bible. Should be standard issue with every car. Thanks Melissa - great job! (now, can we get you to do one in a UK model...? LOL)

      @@PreludeSon That's so awesome! Luxury cars are definitely in a higher price range, but don't forget to look at the L-Certified pre-owned vehicles in your area. A lot of them are from leases, so they are well taken care of and generally have lower miles. They hold their value, so they won't be dirt cheap, but they will be high value for a good price. And the L-Certified warranty is really good also. Let me know if you have any questions about it when you get it :) Have an awesome weekend!

If you have a Windshield Wiper Deicer in your climate menu items, you can turn that on and it will time out on its own. • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  4 місяці тому

      Hi! If you have the Lexus factory NAV, then click on the Search Pin icon on the Map screen. If your UX is a non-NAV model, then you will need to plug in and connect for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The Connected NAV tile on the Home screen is for an app that is no longer supported. You can customize the Home Screen In the main Setup menu to hide that tile. That is always what I recommend. Thanks for checking in.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  4 роки тому +3

      Hey @track86! No worries. Here are the tips I know about:
      1. Stand about an arm's length from the center of the back bumper so the sensor knows there is room for the door to open, if you need to be a little closer, step back after the kick. (If you have Parking Sensors, aim in between the two center sensors.)
      2. Just do a quick kick and back, the sensor is really looking for the removal of your foot. (Make sure not to wave your foot side to side, just straight forward and back. No need to touch the under side of the bumper either. The sensor is looking down.)
      3. Make sure the key fob is in range (so if you have it in a backpack, for example, it may have a harder time picking up the signal rather than in your pocket.
      Here's a fun little video I did about the Kick Sensor when it first came out: ua-cam.com/video/uL5iFN18QAk/v-deo.html Hope you find it helpful. Thanks so much for watching!

      Hi. Thanks for watching. I'm sorry I'm not fluent in Spanish to reply back in Spanish. Hopefully it will translate ok for you. In the US, the 2020 UX comes standard with Apple CarPlay. Make sure to plug in with a data certified or genuine Apple cord to use CarPlay. The UX did not have power folding or auto folding side mirrors. (At least not on any that I saw at that time. It's possible that other regions have different equipment.).

      Hey Steven, I hear ya. It's a tough decision. I went with the NX for size, more of a base model. I have the power back door w/ kick sensor, but I don't have seat memory or NAV. • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  3 роки тому

      Hi Sid. On a UX with a Home button, the navigation runs off of your compatible smart phone and the system will vary depending on what country you are in. In the US, the vehicle is compatible for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can also use the stand alone Waze app. When you have a vehicle that does not come with built in navigation, you can not add it after the fact to the system on the vehicle. Make sure to consult your Owner's Manual to see which navigation apps are compatible with your Lexus and follow the steps to connect your compatible phone to operate them. I hope this answers your question. of not, please let me know what phone, operating system and what app you're using. I'm happy to try to help. :)

      When the headlights come on and night mode is triggered do the following:
      5. Press Menu
      6. Look for Display or Open Setup to locate Display
      7. Now you should see "Day Mode" and you can select it to turn it on and keep it on

      Hi Richard, It is very strange the things they decide not to add in order to keep the base price lower. Auto folding mirrors are the perfect example of that. I wish we had them on every vehicle. Funny thing about the tonneau cover, I think it is more about the size (for storage) and the weight of the larger covers than cost, but I bet that is part of it too. The UX is one of the entry level vehicles in the lineup so the pricing is very sensitive. I'm glad you friend is learning more about their UX though. It is such a fun car to drive. Hi,
    We just transported our 2021 UX250 from NJ to NC. All throughout the trip on the trailer we were receiving warning that the windows and doors were open. We received the car soaking wet and Lexus of Charlotte claims it looks like a flood vehicle. The transport company is claiming we opened the doors and windows from the app rather than them loading the vehicle onto the trailer after they themselves obviously opened the windows when loading the car. Would we even be able to open the windows through the app in this situation? Or would we be receiving warning signs that the windows were open while the car was not running, just as we did?

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  3 роки тому

      Hi Steven, I'm so sorry to hear about your vehicle. Here are some notes that may help you to determine what happened:
      - The Lexus app can not open or close windows or doors.
      - It can notify you of doors being open or unlocked and windows being open. The notifications will come when the car is off.
      - It can lock, unlock the doors and start the engine.
      - The key fob can be programmed to open the windows and moonroof. You would have to have a Technician check the system settings through a computer to see if that feature was enable for your vehicle and key fob, but that would also not open doors. But if it is programmed, it would fully open the windows and or moonroof.
      I hope they are able to help you get to the bottom of this soon. I hope the rest of your move goes well. All the best.

      So sorry for the delay. I'm in Texas in an area hit hard by a major winter storm and we had to close the dealership for a few days. Just getting back and catching up.
      Steps: Turn the car off, lift up on the wiper stalk and hold it for a few seconds in the Mist position. The wipers will move into service mode.
      Here's what I have for you from the Owner's Manual on LexusDrivers.com: drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/document/om-s/OM76363U/pdf/OM76363U.pdf (Check page 174)
      When the windshield wipers are not being used, they retract to below the hood. To enable the windshield wipers
      to be lifted when parking in cold conditions or when replacing a windshield wiper insert, change the rest position of the windshield wipers to the service position using the wiper lever.
      ■ Raising the wipers to the service position Within approximately 45 seconds of turning the engine switch off, move the wiper lever to the (U.S.A.) or (Canada) position and hold it for approximately 2 seconds or more. The wipers will move to the service position.

      I hear you. I wish it was an option at least. I like that my phone charges while I use it, so I've gotten used to plugging it in. Fingers crossed that it will happen one day :)

    The rav 4 has a nice cover that rolls into the bar that holds it. the lexus has some antiquated pos tent like complicated thing. I love toyota. theres no reason in my mind you wouldn't consider an hse or hyrbid rav 4 or venza that is made in japan over this. no reason at all. other than your self esteem is low and think your better than someone driving a L over a T. This vehicle is built on the some platform as some of Toyotas cheapest vehicles. also, the run flats are a joke, just trying to compete with other luxury brands, I dont get it. maybe for the hybrids if it eats trunk space, but other than that, it should get a spare. I truly wish they'd go back to the rav being a fuel efficient offroader like it was when it debuted

      Hi Thedetails aredark ! Thanks for tuning in. I had an 08 RAV4 and loved it! The RX and NX are definitely more inline with the equipment level of the RAV. The UX is an entry level vehicle for Lexus and that may explain some the details that help keep the cost lower. Thanks again for watching.

      Enform services like SOS and Remote are awesome. I'm not a big fan of the App Suite. I think it's on the way out with the introduction of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Thanks for watching :)

    The video is nice but misleading in some parts, I have UX 200 2019 Navigation and doesn't have Apple carplay, I showed the dealership your videos and what about UX and the reply was completely denying any carplay possibility in UX 200 2019 , So Either Lexus is fooling their customers or just making fake videos about imaginary carplay, I am really upset because even the navigation is 2018 version and Dubai is very different than the map provided in UX which makes it completely useless, If you are in real tech specialist I think you should at least help me in that and that would be really appreciated.

      Hi Michael, yes, I'm a Master Certified Lexus Technology Specialist. I have been for the past 8 years and have been with the Lexus brand for over 21 years. I try to make sure everything I teach is accurate for the vehicles that we have in the US. I'm not sure if the equipment is different where you live. It is possible that they are built differently in differently countries. Here's what I know about the UX and what you're asking: There was not a UX in 2018 so I'm not sure which vehicle you are comparing the navigation system to. The UX was introduced in the US as a 2019 model and Apple CarPlay was standard equipment. If you have access to the 2019 Owner's Manual you can find a lot of great information for Apple CarPlay. Here's a link: drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/document/omnav-s/OM76384U/pdf/OM76384U.pdf. If you're looking at the date for the map data then a 2019 model would show a date of 2018. That would be when the mapping company produced the map data. The UX in the US has dynamic navigation available, that allows for a cloud connection for navigation when the signal is available. It is a subscription service and is not available in all areas. That might explain the difference in the map you are seeing. Again, I'm sorry if the vehicles I have access to are different from where you are.

      At least in Europe, Apple Car Play and Android Auto weren't available on the 2019 UX, they are in the 2020 minor revision. I got my UX250h 3 weeks ago, but it still was a 2019 model, thus no CP/AA built-in. There were news spreading around about a possible software update coming for 2019 models, but the Covid thing seems to have slowed down the whole considerably. Latest informations I saw is that it may be available in July. It is supposed to be a free upgrade which has to be performed by your dealer, but this may change from country to country.
      Some other things are different in Europe, we get DAB+ instead of HD/SAT radio for example, thus a couple of things are different, anyways thx for the video, was very informative and more undestandable than the manual itself.

      @@NorthsideLexus I am in Dubai, I have Lexus UX 2019, and in the manual came with the car have a chapter about Carplay but itself doesn't have it, I went to the local dealership and they said not possible until they get an update from the main manufacture which said may never happen, Now I have a car with a useless 10-inch screen (NO wifi function, NO Carplay, NO Apps, Outdated 2018 map and NO Dynamic navigation because of the cloud system ONLY for US) just camera and parking sensor and a Bluetooth that doesn't even show the playlist of music! Honestly, I really hate Lexus for such bad treatment as I paid the same amount of money like in US and got a car with no function, even seat heating in place with climate temperature above 45.0C (113 F).

      @@michaelgerges3210 I'm sorry to hear that. Since I'm with a local dealership in Texas, I only have access to the vehicles that we have here. Best of luck with the vehicle you selected. It is a wonderful car. If you are disappointed with your purchase, I would recommend reaching out to the dealership where you bought it to get more information about potential future upgrades in your country. I'm sorry I can't be of more assistance.
