“Our Pets HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!!” 😂 my fave scene from this film 😂
We landed on the Moon is mine! I remember watching this as a kid and recording every favorite line on my tape player! Listened to it over and over flying from VT to AZ to see family. 41 years old now and this is still my number 1 movie!
Mine too ! 🤣
It's the delivery, totally.
MIne is when Harry smokes Mary in the head with a snowball.
Almost every line of this movie is a joke, and it's incredible. Iconic.
I’ve seen a lot of their reactions … but I still never woulda guessed it would be this movie to make her totally lose it 🤣🤣 I feel like she tapped into the joy we all felt in the 90s seeing this craziness for the first time. Jim Carrey is hilarious. But watching this & then say the pilot of the Newsroom, you realize the genius of Jeff Daniels 😂
Some useless info for you. The old lady on the scooter lived to be 105 and died in 2018.
Reminds me of Chuck Berry who played live concerts from 1955 to 2015.
If those years mean anything to anyone...
@@yt45204 That's heavy
While I might not have much use for that information, it’s nice to know. We can’t live forever, but I guess she really took Lloyd’s words to heart.
She gave us seniors a bad name.thats not a great legacy!!
Me and my sister still quote "Samsonite! I was way off," when we have trouble thinking of a word or something and then it finally comes to us, lol.
I knew it started with an s though
Funniest joke: Harry tries to strangle Lloyd, after revealing he has an extra pair of gloves and Lloyd says:"Harry! Your hands are freezing!"
I've thought 'they aren't ready' for many reacts, but even in the 90s nobody was ready for this.
Lol, in the 90's I went with my family to the theater to watch this and my mom walked out on it. She definitely wasn't ready!
@@MountainMan. This is one of my mom's favorite movies. The juxtaposition of life I suppose.
Waiting for them to tackle Dumb and Dumberer with Bob Saget's fecalphobia 😅
@@MountainMan. Hahaa.
I absolutely cried laughing at the theater. I was that person who gets dirty looks for being too loud laughing. I couldn’t help it.
I'm a photographer and a birder. Regularly, I say "pretty bird" in reference to the blind kid when I see cool birds 🤣🤣🤣
“Big gulps! All right!” 🤣🤣🤣
Well see you later!
Flo was one of the waitresses in the TV show Alice from the early-mid 80s. Set at Mels Diner. Her big catch line was "kiss my grits". This was also referenced in Dogma. I imagine its also popped up in other movies or tv shows
They spun her off into her own show called "Flo" of course, but it was a huge flop.
Mel: "Mel's Diner where the elite meet to eat"
Flo: "Then drop dead right on the street"
I wonder if there's a reference in My Cousin Vinny. They're have a lot of grits talk in that.
Alice (1976-85)
@@Logan_Baron Flo (1980--81)
Jim Carrey actually chipped his tooth. It was fixed but he had a dentist unfix it for this movie because he thought it would be funnier.
That kind of dedication is why Jim makes the big bucks.
Yes, he broke his tooth as a kid. He broke it while he was horsing around with his friend in school while in detention
My Brother laughed so loud when he said Tic Tac Sir to the Police officer who drank the pee, he almost got kicked out of the Theater 😂 Great reaction. The guys that made this movie made the movie The Three Stooges. It was good too. The second Dumb and Dumber wasn't very good.
as a die hard fan, i only watched the second one in theaters, but i didnt hate it, i just felt meh, maybe another viewing is in order
My son and i laughed so hard we seen it twice in the first day and then again the next day. We just kept laughing so hard we kept missing most of it.
I did the same thing with the movie Johnny dangerously. I was sitting on the floor laughing and crying (my husband kept saying shh shh - what are you laughing at?) Then the people in the audience kept asking about what i was laughing about.
What cracked me up was when Johnny was using the price gun to put sticker prices on the puppies! That about killed me! Just like dumb and dumber
I believe this is the most laughter I've heard from any of your reactions 😂
There are so many quotable lines in this movie!!! What a classic! “That John Denver’s full of shit, man” 😅
That’s one of my favorites, and I’m glad to someone else mention it!
10:23 - That guy had his own comedy movie called "Rocket Man".
It's sad no one remembers or mentions it. It's very under-appreciated. My dad and I loved that movie. But I haven't seen it since I was a little kid.
wasn't he Robert...a in Sorority Boys?
Rocket man is one of my favorite movies! especially the part where they are hooked up together 😂
@@Nmiller4486 Yeah, that's probably the funniest part. Lol
I also like the training, and when they all go to sleep for the travel.. I probably haven't seen it in 20-ish years.
Jeff Daniels is an actor that can do everything, he went from speed to dumb and dumber, and those 2 roles are no where near the same chats yet
And then to being the head of NASA. He can do anything :D
He did drama in Terms of Endearment in the early 80s.
There's this really underrated comedy cult classic called Out Cold 2001 about a small ski town that's bought and turned into a new "Aspen". Stubs is one of the best background characters ever put on screen, all I'm going to say.
Just remembered Alan from The Hangover, Zach Galifianakis is also in that film
I really think "There is something about Mary"
Speed with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock is another great 90s movie if you haven't seen it yet
Yeah too bad that movie didn’t age well though
7:35 "Excuse me Flo"... They were referring to an Old 70's Sitcom called Alice. One of the waitress's name was Flo. Her catch phrase was "Kiss my Grits"
Harry also plays in the movie SPEED with Keanu Reeves
Yes and his name was Harry in that also lol
@@nsasupporter7557 YEP
The woman he drives to the airport in the beginning, Lauren Holly, got married to Jim Carrey for a couple years right after this movie was made.
No, not years. They only dated a little while and were only married for 10 months then divorced
It was probably that daydream make out scene that did it. 😂
Oh I didn't know that! That's interesting. I remember her as Director Shepherd from NCIS
@@mattroper7214 My mom loves NCIS and when she'd bring her up I'd say, "oh, you mean Mary Christmas?"
‘90s comedy suggestions
- Wayne’s World (1992)
- Clueless (1995)
- Clifford (1994) (with Martin Short)
7:45 Flo was a waitress on a long-running sitcom called "Alice," which was actually based on a movie called "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore." It's an old show now, but it got such heavy rerun play in the 80s that it's not that obscure of a pop-culture reference if you were alive during that decade and watched a lot of TV.
I was like, “If she hates the peeing
in the bottle sound, just wait until the Turbo Lax!” 😆
In the theatrical version it doesn’t show him dumping the toilet. I wonder how he got it off the ground
I saved to watch later. My dad bought this VHS with The Mask at Blockbuster on the same day back in the 90s. It was an epic weekend. You both are awesome together!!!!!
"Harry, your hands are freezing ".
🤣🤣🤣
great reaction. there's actually 2 "sequels". one sequel with these 2 guys. and one "prequel" with 2 other actors
I love when Lloyd is headed over to Mary's after he dosed Harry. The background music is the witches theme from The Wizard of OZ.
Stupid humor, written brilliantly! It still holds up 30 years later. Top of my comedy film list, and Blind Date is a distant second.
I worked at a restaurant and we had the soundtrack to this on cd. It's really a great soundtrack!
Where the beer flows like wine…
Love you guys! Happy Easter 🐰🐣
Technically if you have a bucket of water any toilet will flush, just dump the water in the bowl. I doubt he had a bucket in there though.
i LOVE seeing people watch this movie for the first time... i went to see it in the theater for my birthday back in the 5th grade lol
“Seabass” the big, tough trucker guy at the cafe character is played by Cam Neely, an NHL Hall of Famer. One of the best power forwards to ever play…and he was/is huge. 6’2” 230lbs when he played. A no joke, huge tough guy and hardcore player, who also scored a bunch. He was a huge star in hockey when this came out. He’s now the president of the Boston Bruins (the team he famously played for).
These directors are huge New England area sports fans and they put a lot of star athletes (especially guys who play in New England/northeast part of the US) in their movies in small roles.
Jeff Daniels has a serious role in The Martian. Good one!
Wasn't that movie technically a comedy? 😂😂😂
Every role he’s in serious pretty much
I just ADORE watching your reactionss! ♥️ (sorry for my english)
The heart removal & karate sequence was spoofing the very popular video & arcade game at the time Mortal Kombat
And old kung fu movies from the 70s especially Bruce Lee flicks.
@cashflowhustles Oh that makes sense. I always thought of Mortal Kombat because of the heart removal being directly ripped from the game. Truth be told I always hated that part of the game as a child and that part of this movie lol just so gruesome
Best comedy movie ever seen it so many times and it still makes me laugh. The lady who waited for the dog's to be delivered also stars in KINGPIN and THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARRY both great comedy movie's with great actor's
Disagree, neither one of those movies were that good.
I only chuckled a few times throughout Mary… And Kingpin was entertaining enough but it was nothing special
My father once told me opinions are like A holes everybody got 1 and they normally stink. So i must disagree with your disagreement KINGPIN is a great comedy 👍
2 more bit actor's from dumb and dumber with movie's are the henchman who got poisoned he's in THE LAST DRAGON and the pee drinking policeman is in ROCKETMAN from Disney
@@nothernmonkey8612 yes, Mike Starr and Harland Williams… those were their names. Mike Starr played the clown on Uncle Buck and Harland Williams was on Half Baked, Mary, Super Star… but his only lead role was Rocketman as you said
YOU WIN I think your a bigger cinephile than me and that's saying something I didn't even realise mike star was the clown until a few month ago when a friend pointed it out my mind was blown I've watched that movie for over 3 decades
Awesome reaction, imagine watching this back in the days with no preconceived expectations like knowing who Jim Carrey is 😂
This was one of the craziest funniest movies I've seen 🙂
The TV show was "Alice" which took place in Mels' Diner. There was a waitress named Flo. Her tag line was "kiss my grits!"
Came here to mention this. The tv show was loosely based on a stage play and movie (a drama, not a comedy), called Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore.
she needs to watch more jim carrey movies , i recommend the mask and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
Love it you both are adorable happy Easter
Not sure if it has been said in the comments yet, but Seabass is actually Cam Neely, a professional hockey player and current president of the Boston Bruins. He also has a small cameo in Me, Myself, and Irene.
If you haven't seen Kingpin, that would be a good choice to watch together, it's great fun! Woody Harrelson stars in it.
Kingpin and D&D are my two favorite Farley bros comdies, who am i kidding, probably my 2 all time fav comedies (at least in top 5)
Yes!!
No. Don't watch with her...
Just. Don't watch. 🤮
Funny thing is no matter how many reviews of this movie you watch nobody ever seems to catch the fraida *felcher* joke
Such a great reaction as always. Ya'll should check out My Big Fat Greek Wedding, it's early 2000s so not quite 90s but it's hilarious. I think you both would really enjoy it
My two favourite reactors! I could watch you both watch paint dry and still have a great experience! Thank you ❤
19:28 I was obsessed with this song, listened to it over and over. "Crash" by The Primitives.
I actually did that snowball fight in real life with a girl the winter before this movie came out. Shoved her face in the snow and everything. She was cool. Then when we saw the movie we couldn’t believe it.
7:38 There was a popular sitcom in the 70s / 80e called Alice about a dinner waitress. Her coworker was named Flo. She had a popular catch phrase "Kiss my grits!".
Flo even had her own spin-off that only ran two seasons (1980-81) while Alice ran for 9 seasons (1976-85). Alice itself was based on the 1974 film _Alice doesn't live here anymore._
Love this movie! My whole family still quotes it to this day
35:43 I believe someone said that Jim Carrey improvised bcuz they were originally supposed to get on the bus. But he decided to point them in a different direction lol
This movie is pure gold. I dont recommend the sequel. Theyre mean in it, and the magic to me is that they want good for everyone, but their stupidity gets in the way.
The prequel is forgettably horrible as well.
The biggest problem with the sequel was that it didn’t feel natural, they were trying way too hard to be funny
This movie never fails to cheer me up if I am down, great reaction guys! :)
Most annoying sound in the world … favorite joke by a mile 😂
Next movie Jim caray THE CABLE GUY
I would love to see you two watch other Jim Carrey classics such as Ace Ventura 1&2, and Liar Liar!
Great movie. The funniest Jim Carry movie by far. You can also see the The Jerk by Steve Martin or Top Secret.
Marry took that snowball like a champ
Seeing Wen (please forgive me if that is spelled incorrectly) lose it was SO much fun. Great reaction video. Happy subscriber.
Another Jim Carrey one like this is Me, Myself, and Irene.
This came out about 2 years after science of the lambs Hannibal later refrences are all through the 90s
Awesome reaction. Thanks!
Apparently Lloyd CAN READ. He reads the newspaper on the bar wall... "We landed on the moon!"
until I was 12 I didn't know Samsonite was a briefcase designer.
This has to be the greatest ending to wrap up what the movie is
Jim Carrey is the reason the film's ending is what it is. The original ending would've had them actually going with the bikini babes, but Carrey said that that wouldn't be funny enough or in character.
I forgot how funny this one was until watching your reactions!!
The song in the credits is sung by Apache Indian.
Jim Carrey and Lauren Holly(Mary) started dating after they met doing this and got married but it only lasted a year.
Flo was a reference to the 70’s sitcom Alice, it was about waitresses working in a Diner in Arizona and one of them was name Flo.
The classic moment that is quoted by many "So you're telling me there is a chance"
Lloyd - (Gets held hostage by gunman)
Also Lloyd - (Gets huffy and throws pillow) 😆
Omg the newsroom is one of my favourite shows of all time!! The comedy in that series is really good as well 😊
34:48 "What are you f***ing doin?" That's an appropriate response 😂
Flo is a character of an old tv show Mel’s Diner.
I always have tell the hilarious Jeff Daniel's/Clint Eastwood story.Jeff Daniel's did a film with Eastwood and Eastwood says...That scene, when you were on the toilet, happened to me in real life.It was really funny, how Jeff Daniel's tells it.
I’ve seen a lot of these reaction vids and yall have to be the cutest couple I’ve seen. I hope one day I have the love that yall do. This was one of my fav movies growing up and it was so enjoyable watching it with yall. Thank you!
When jim comes out of the gas station those people aren't actors thry didn't know a movie was being filmed jim just interacted with em and they left it in the movie
Very fun reactions. Is great to see Wen ( not sure spelled right) and Nick laughing as much as we did in 1994.. Fun times..
Man, you guys cut the best joke. “Husband!!? What was all that one-in-a-million talk back there?”
This is my #2nd favorite comedy. #1 is Monty Python Holy Grail. It's British, meaning dry humor, but it's even more ridiculous than this. Any girl I dated I made them watch, and all loved it. Don't try to make sense of it, turn your brain off and enjoy
You two nearly burst into flames lol
Still one of the funniest movies ever made
@Nickreacts Their is also a prequel called Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd. It that came out in 2003. 11 years before the sequel.
Speed and dumb and dumber came out the same year. Jeff has all the range.
Maybe the title isn't about the guys, but the situations that just goes from dumb to dumber, so it's the situations that are dumb and dumber.
I love Dumb & Dumber, one of Jim Carrey's finest comedies.
Great to see you both watching this! You both laughed just as much as I did. The annoying noise scene makes me crack up every time. Great reaction!
9:14 the movie Lloyd is referring to is something wild a 1986 Jeff Daniels movie with late Ray Liotta and Jeff character pulls it to Ray character and of course slit throat scene Lloyd mentions was done by Ray but Jeff character gets freed and wins at end
This was a great reaction to my all time favorite comedy movie. I definitely need to check out more of your guy's stuff.
You all are watching the extended version of the movie.
I know you are looking for 90s comedies, but 1979's The Jerk with Steve Martin. You are not ready for that level of stupid.
Jim's first major movie is once bitten 80s teen movie with vampires, it has cleavon little from blazzing saddles he died shortly after that is why no one has heard of him
Jeff has basically said, “I knew I was working with Jim Carrey, and had to be On, humor-wise.”
this is the extended cut, some of the scenes werent in the original, like the extended scene with sea bass in the bathroom and when lloyd was saying Mary Christmas in the mirror. i like the original cut better, the only time your hit with the name Mary Christmas is in their convo in the limo at the beginning and it would make me laugh no one picked up on it. now its just explaining the joke lol
I've seen this movie a hundred times and never saw him try to dump the toilet out the window or sea bass lowering his pants. I used to nearly be able to recite this movie. I had no idea there was an extended cut.
You know the part where he was trying to get Harry to make a bet and said I don't know how I'm going to get you but I will. I don't know how many times I watched to realize he actually made a bet lol. And the part where Harry is taking a crap in the bathroom I have that picture of him in my bathroom best thing in my house lol
Do the movie “Kingpin” next, by the same writers and directors (the Farrelly brothers)! Possibly even funnier and more ridiculous and has a bit more plot than Dumb and Dumber.
10:33 (±) » that sommelier shaking over there (🤣)
