This is such a devastatingly good song, I hope one day Laurena puts this and all her later songs on bandcamp or Spotify somewhere. This and Pentecost red are just so good to be sitting alone on UA-cam.

I'm glad I clicked "Like" on this song several months ago. Hadn't listened to it in a while. But it called me back. There is someone across the Atlantic I need to forgive. And this time I read the lyrics and it floored me. Completely floored me. The pain you channeled here. I don't have to know the story behind it to feel its power. The vocals, your arrangement, your harmonies, I mean omg, you deliver with song. You knocked one out of the park and across 4 city blocks. UA-cam needs a love button. It's good you can check the like history or I might have struggled to find it again. The bridge, the pinnacle, the climax (there are many roads to forgiveness and i haven't found one yet) stuck in my head, thinking what song is this from? I've listened many times now, and i have to say thank you so much for sharing this brilliant masterpiece. Nice cameo from Mr. J too. Awesome.

Larena, I am not only convinced that this so-called 'underwhelming comeback' is the best song you have ever written (and let's face it, you've written some pretty damned good ones) but I am convinced it may well be the best song ever written by anyone ever... I know that's a bold claim but it's definitely up there with songs like, 'Yesterday'. Why do artists so often misjudge the value of their own work, I wonder? I believe Tchaikovskyi always hated his Nutcracker Suite, his most popular and enduring work. So, I guess you are in good company. Damnit, Laurena, it's so good, in fact, you've actually caused me to buy a banjo and it's all because I was so inspired by your music and in particular, this song. Needless to say, I'm trying to play it. Despite being new to banjo, I'm pretty sure I am reading the chords and bass walk downs correctly from your left hand but I'm still a bit confused by the picking patterns you are using. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. :-)
