"What're you trying to prove? It's just bread."
Guys. You have no idea. There's so. much. bread. here. The variations are endless.
300 sorts
@@cruja8399 i just checked, it says around 600 main types with 1200 types of pastries, we germans just love bread XD
@Gabro Ego That is an understatement and you should know that as a German. It is like telling Americans all Burgers are the same. They would also disagree.
not guys, gaF
I'm glad they liked it and all, but I have to say... Those were some of the poorest, most loveless, most unappetizing "presentations" of our food I have ever seen. :(
Ikr. That Brezel looked sad
that schnitzel made me sad...
They really need to fire the chefs. I jave seen that with most other "nation foods"
@@isaaclong6085 as a german baker that brezel caused me physical pain
That pretzel has no salt
Wer hat Brezeln serviert die schon steinhart warem 🤦♂️.
Das verfälscht deren Meinung
What the fuck was that pretzel. WHERE WAS THE SALT!?
Pretty sure they bought frozen brezeln at a grocery store, which often come with a pack of coarse salt, they just didn't add it for whatever reason.
or even worse if they fucked up even more and got a sweet brezel like they do i the US ....but it looks more like just a just shitty regular brezel......probably stale already as well
which americans Oo?
Nope, german here.
Naja ich kann jetzt nicht für den jannik sprechen aber ich bin defenitiv deutsch.....not that i would think that you would understand what that even means cause you got you head so far up your own arse.....you probably can hardly even hear us
"this is food we eat in germany"
-said no german ever
Yeah who ever did choose those has no idea what we have in Germany, i mean at least give them "Sauerbraten".
Ehem sweety... that was not a real German Bretzel
So true...
Not a high quality pretzel they ate.
After googling: It's called washing soda (sodium carbonate) or lye (sodium hydroxide) treatment.
And pretzels aren't glazed but they get plunged into lye. At home you might glaze them with a brush. By the way, we do have sweet pretzels (without additional salt, e.g. New Years Pretzels) in Germany, but they're certainly much better than those they ate and are made of a different dough.
Problem with Brezeln theyr really scrumptious when they're fresh but a half day old Brezel doesn't taste that good
If they're not fresh, put them on a toaster each side. Done.
Yep Bretzel without Salt.
I have been living in Germany for 41 years, now and I think I know our dishes pretty well, but somehow, for any reason, the food you've got there looks like deep frozen food, totally wrong prepared. If you buy "German food" Frozen in a supermarket it ist actually Industrial food and no real german dish.
Absolutely! I´m german and this Food don´t looks good. It´s not german.
And Schnitzel and Apfelstrudel is from Austria.
awful diction
@@alysdexiaImagine if she had done that with Italy and had tasted canned ravioli and frozen pizza as typically Italian... It's an insult. I once went to a "German restaurant" in the USA. It was OK, but not original. Traditional food (no matter which country) can only be eaten in that country. And Industrial food is no food at all it is garbage.
@@ariebolo your last statement is objectively wrong.
Those Brezen don't look like German Brezen. There should be way more salt.
And mustard to dip it in.
MrStomper76 nah I think they should try "Butterbreze" so a pretzel with butter . Where I live nobody eats a pretzel pure and without anything
And there would be a cut
Lidl Aufbackbrezn
Theyre also tasty with liver pate (leberwurst) although i dont know if its traditional german or just something my family does xd
BTW these are just the "main stream" thing everyone knows about, there is MUCH better stuff hiden in regional kitchens ;)
Labskaus (I know you eat it in England to) , Knipp, Pinkel etc....
Hey nur so Apfelstrudel ist eigentlich aus Österreich nur so ;)
I heard somewhere that “pancreas stew” is a German dish... Is that true or did I just confuse it for something else?
@@ghostofentity3032 there is a wide and regional variety of dishes that would fit the description as they contain or mostly consist out of pancreas and other organs
Ghostof Entity303 dafuq is this ?
"Breads the only thing I consistently like in life"
You should've probably told him that we have about 3200 different kinds of bread in germany.
"...there's a pickle in me gravy" I love how she talks!
you know that not all of germany is bavaria, right? no leberkäse, no currywurst, no mettbrötchen, no döner, no baumkuchen, none of the tons of types of bratwurst, no semmelknödel...
can't forget the loads of awesome sweets we have either
I always wanted to see an at least 10h long video of people eating every single german dish in existence. I bet each of them would throw up at least twice
Lou Lou hey, I'm just complaining about the lack of variety and how easily people forget about the rest of germany.
what about sauerbraten? Deutsche Käsekuchen? Kasseler? Weisswurst? Streuselkuchen? so many wonderful missed opportunities.
Jenvas Most of those Videos only show /try Bavarian food mostly, because in my opinion, a lot of foreigners still associate us with all being Bavarians. Its kinda sad if you think about it.
Currywurst?
BRING ME ANOZAH'!
Think it's weisswurst.
I couldn't believe they skipped Currywurst!
Weisswurst is something more typical from Bavaria, and curry wurst is typical from Berlin, I guess that's why they chose sth more generic like normal wurst
Yup, it's rooted in Soviet times. Currywurst was supposed to have low meat content and taste like shit, so the factories drowned out the taste with curry.
The Schnitzel is actually from Austria 😉
Love from Cologne
*HUST* Wiener Schnitzel *HUST*
Solaire Of Astora Aus was besteht Wiener Schnitzel und aus was besteht ein Deutscher Schnitzel? Man sollte die Unterschiede kennen, bevor man etwas kommentiert.
I am a Brit living in Germany. I would recommend. Leberkase (Liver Cheese) Which is really a pork (max 5% liver) meatloaf but ultra blended smooth. Its baked and has the texture of a semi hard cheese hence the name. Cut about 1cm thick, warm from the oven on a crusty half roll with sweet grain mustard. Oh my god its so good.
Most of these are pretty much staples here. Not so much the Bratwurst and Sauerkraut. Bratwurst in a roll is EVERYWHERE. Most Sauerkraut i see is red cabbage variety boiled in a vinegar/apple juice mix and is again amazingly good.
Bit 1970"s cliche in Britain but real schwarzwälder kirschen torte (Black forest gateaux) from the black forest region is also awesome. So full of Kirsche i have become half cut from ONE slice!
Rich77UK Red cabbage is called Rotkraut and normally sweet. Sauerkraut is made of white cabbage and of course sour (the more the better ;) ).
Jaaa leberkas semmel😍
Rich77UK There is NO liver in Leberkäse.
The Word ' Leber' originates from the Word 'Laib', which means Loaf.
Rich77UK
We also have that in the Netherlands but we call it "Leverkaas" Its delicious!
I'm craving some sauerkraut and neck bones right now.
Irish people taste Hawaiian food
in Hawaii
Nice of you to have their backs like that.
That would mean melted Irish people, though.
Melted and sunburned.
Like a fork in the microwave. Just sparks and fire.
good one! Or Irish people try surfing for the first time. Or hula dancing!
Schnitzel is from Austria
Actually is the Schnitzel from Austria :D
Facts, what have you done? You served a cooked Bratwurst with Sauerkraut? Horrid. You fry them in a pan or on a grill...
Bratwurst, BRAT it ffs :X
+David Roberts yes it would... there are some sausages that have to be cooked, but Not that One and not im that combination..
The only way to cook a bratwurst would be in soup.
There is a dish, called 'Saure Zipfel' in Bavariawhich is exactly what they ate.
Ganz sicher nicht. Wenn, dann isst man Saure Zipfel mit Zwiebeln und nem Sud. Kapierste?
"Bread's the only thing I consistently like in life." I mean, like, Davey's basically my soulmate. Sorry for sounding like James, lmao.
ha ha ya!!!!
Davey, sorry I mean your nutty John's Laura is your soul mate
Fun fact about pretzels.
Pretzels are glazed with a toxic acid Wich is known to deteriorate skin and flesh. (Lauge)
I learned this the hard way when a bucket of Lauge solution spilled on my hand yesterday and I didn't wash it off.
Philip Underworld everyone knows that
Aine needs her own television show.
She is beautiful.
*Davey and Áine try a cruise ship week*
It's spelled Aine, and he would be the envy of many Facts. subscribers!
Áine- don't forget about the fada
Davey and Aine try a Cleveland Steamer.
What? It's kind of like a cruise ship. Sounds like one...the words, I mean. Not the act. Or maybe it does, if you ate a lot of beans first.
I'd ship those two ;-) LOL!
My apologies, Áine!

apple strudel is from Austria, and you had the wrong dough
Back in the 70's I was fortunate enough to be involved in military exercises in Germany. We were stationed in Biloxi, MS and flew our aircraft to Rhein-Main AB, outside of Frankfurt. I didn't get a chance to see any of the rest of the country but the food we had, from schnitzel(s) in the gausthauses to a 5 course meal in one of the local dining establishments, was first rate! Unfortunately, I only had a chance to try about 15 of the different schnitzels! Also, I was stationed in Thailand back in the early 1970's and I would recommend a show about Issan (NE Thailand) street food .... in a word, AWESOME!
"the pickle is confusin me, just because im like there's a pickle in me gravy"
That looked REALLY good.
I got a pickle that won't confuse you
Try Swedish food, end with surströmming 😎😂
lmao haha
well.. Maybe I have to come over and make homemade meatballs.. Ikea is low end meatballs 😉
Let 'em try snus at the very end!
Do you WANT to kill them?
Troopergame It would be nice if they could do it "newbie friendly" - like a roll with the all the condiments and not too much surströmming. After all, we've already seen hundreds of foreigners doing it the "wrong" way ;)
Aww we Germans love our Irish brothers and sisters. We are so similar. There is at least one pub in every german city. In Düsseldorf we have more than 50 irish pubs, that says it all ;)
Rouladen is amazing! My grandma used to make it for Christmas. Hers had dijon mustard, a carrot stick, and a spear of dill pickle, rolled up in thinly sliced beef. She browned it first and then put it in the oven to finish. She served it with mashed potatoes and boiled red cabbage and it was amazing. I haven't had it for years bc she passed in 98. My grandpa made it several years ago for Christmas, but I haven't had it since then. I miss my grandma's cooking.
"You know what would be really nice? If this was pizza."
bwahahahahaha!
They do have a sort of pizza pretzel, it's basically just melted cheese on top but it's awesome.
Spätzle is my favorite though! Especially käsespätzle...
Edited for spelling.
I love kässpatzl! Where I live in Germany, we unfortunately don't eat them.
*spätzle
Ashley W OMG CHEZZY SPATZL
DeinLeben700 neu ah thanks!
There is a pizza pretzel where I'm from its stuffed with cheese sauce and pepperoni.
Kein Sauerbraten, keine Currywurst, keine Blauen Zipfel, keine Maultaschen... Leute... wenn ihr euren Job machen wollt, macht ihn richtig. Das Format und die Leute sind doch super!
I have been binge watching this channel for like 2days now !!! You guys are so amazingly entertaining. Awesome job guys !!! & if I may suggest, I'm a New yorker (ethnicity Puerto Rican) who's recently discovered Pakistani food !!! I totally recommend either food from my country, or Pakistan you won't regret it ✊🏾🤘😉
hahaha i love this channel
One of my absolute favorite foods in the world is Wurts and Sauerkraut. Especially in the winter.
I would like to see the global adventures of Davey and Anya!
With a dad of Irish descent and a mother of German descent, the food growing up was always great.
There's a pickle in me gravy!! 😂😂
. . "theres a PICKLE in ME GRAVY" . . . . such a seductive phrase that is there
I love all your taste testing videos! I think you should try "Southern Fair Foods." Completely with deepfried Snicker bars, deepfried Oreos, deepfried pickles, tenderloin sandwiches, deep fried hot dogs and pizza, etc. It's all fried, it's crazy!
"There's a pickle in me gravy" lmfao love her heart
Apfelstrudel and Schnitzel are actually Austrian recipes. ..
Cybergott9999 * hust* Wir Norddeutschen auch *hust *
Markus Krottendorfer strudels actually originate from turkey. Schnitzl (ned des wiener!) from italy. Wuaschd, mia mochn trotzdem de bestn strudl und schnitzl 😀
It's actually common in the whole of central europe...
@Krakra Kranich bruh IQ 60
Is this bait? This has to be bait. Is it? It is.
Was Davey flirting with Anya at the end there? Yaaaaaaaithinkhewuuus
Lovely profile pic.^^
Nadia Mohamed that's how we spell my daughter's name as well!
I love it :D It is sooo great that people get to know culture and maybe get together :)
The confusion in her voice when she said "there's a pickle in me gravy" was priceless.
have they tried prison food yet?
Prison food can be good. Though sadly I know from experience, the prison food here in Nevada is DAMN good. JAIL food however is SHIT!!
well maybe have a mixture of both or something
Yes. It's called Irish food.
+Skipper no its ye mums cookin
Facts. react to best of Facts selective compilation. That would be nice
I love Brezels. I LOVE THEM!
I have little Oktoberfest-bracelets with Pretzels on them. Because I love them.
Much love for Germany from The Netherlands!
Have them do Norwegian food!! and make sure to have Lutefisk and Krumkake!!!!
Chemical weapons aren't allowed in Ireland.
Whatever Jimmy lol
Krumkake could be a german word and if it were it would mean 'bendy shit'.
Lutefisk is nice
"Because there's a pickle in the gravy"
That reminded me of "there's a pickle in the middle of my burger that's covered in chocolate"
If you get the reference I love you 😂
Link does like to sing a random tune when eating.
Jordan Thomas I think it's cute 😂
This video made me happy
I love how they translated "apfel" and were just like whatever it's an apple strudel now instead of just going with Apfelstrudel
Try fatty carnival foods... :o) Fried Coke, Fried Butter, Fried Oreo, Fried Snickers, Funnel Cake, Kettle Corn, Shaved Ice... unless these were already done. :P
Irish people try Scottish food?
Fried Coke? Its liquid...
damn that dude at the end trying real hard to get hooked up
Strudel? "WAIT FOR THE CREAM" best quote ever
Schnitzel is thinly sliced pieces of meat without bones, which are usually additionally knocked flat with a meatball (plating iron), which makes the meat more delicate by breaking the muscle fibers. Schnitzel is not a typical German food, the Viennese schnitzel is known and it comes from Austria. Or a cordon bleu from France, is a Wiener Schnitzel with cheese.
Waiting for pissed off Austrians, because half of these are predominantly Austrian :D
I was looking for a comment like this lol
You're comment made me laugh Ekaeko because i thought you said Australians.
Roman C
Just don't say that to an Austrian. I'm pretty sure they'll beg to differ.
Omg xD how dumb people can be
ME!!! I TOLD THEM TO GO FUCK THEMSELVES!
Minor Threat!!!
“there’s a pickle in me gravy” best catch phrase ever
Pretzels are also eaten with butter or salt on the top. Then it's not that dry
Schnitzel is originally from Austria
Austrians got it from the Italians.
JJ Myers during those years that part of Italy was under Austrian Empire rule..but the Austrian version of cotoletta is further different
wiener schnitzel so with beef, is austrian yes, but the original schnitzel with pork is german. as you can see, this is the pork version so it is german.
from Milan to be precise, which was 150 years under Austrian domination.
...No, thats wrong. It's proofed, that this legend is wrong. This legend is from the 1970s.
But in the Lobardei they served meat with a cover of leaf gold, diet wise. They brought this to Austria, where it got forbidden and the cooks breaded the meat, so that it looks golden. That kind of breading has a long history in Austria, but not in Italiy...
Irish People Critique Abstract Art for my man Sean M
Nothing but respect for the consistency and perseverance m8
Sean M? Jacksepticeye?
I wish I lived in Ireland cuz I would get stoned before taste testing anything so that way it was a more authentic taste description. I love you guys.
". . . or Dave and Anya cruise the South of France. . ." LOL! Why not?!
The new chick (the blonde) is just bleeding adorable =D
Brings a nice, enthusiastic energy to the mix!
She's mine
You need to watch her with George in "Irish People Taste Test Weird American Food Inventions". You'll never look at Turducken the same way again.
well thank you for taking a cheap version of everything. I'm from Germany and I like our traditional food, but the stuff you ate looked ugly and I would not want to eat that too
That scene in inglorious bastards is strudel goals 💕
My new favorite saying.. Because, there's A pickle in my gravy. LOL
Irish people watch Wife Swap particularly the 2012 Doomsday family episode or the King Curtis episode.
Nope..why export our insanity and perversion? That's plain cruel..
That wasn't a good looking Schnitzel!😕 I'm Austrian, i know it
I want to see Mid-Atlantic food. Wings with mumbo, crabcake subs, half-smokes with chili, Blue Crabs. ( you're going to have to pick them for them)
Lost it at "German bakery gangs." Can't stop giggling and it's 1am. What am I even doing with my life?
It would be absolutely HILARIOUS if they tried surströmming. XD
P.S. Facts people, please don't hate me if they do get a hold of a can of it...
if America made this they would say "omg they are so greasy, omg I can taste the calories"
Davey, I'm a little bit in love with you, your black nails and your general disaffection for life.
This reminded me I still have half a strudel in waiting for me in the freezer, cheers
Try Norwegian food :) Lutefisk!
I have to admit that it was kinda hot when Blaithlin stuck her tongue out between the Brezel. :)
she's so freaking gorgeous.
Yeah she's dreamy.
Why taint the imagination by creating (unrealistic) scenario, where she would be on pornhub. Where is fun in not being imaginative and just another media consumer in the line?
"There's a pickle in me gravy" .... the matter-of-fact way she said that is incredible
I'm from Germany and ist realy funny to see what other peopel say to the German food 😂❤
no döner? its like the national food of germany :D
Is Turkish Not german
Currywurst ist german
Wtf? "national food of germany"muhahahahahha. Döner is Turkish.
Have they tried Durian Fruit yet? I would watch that.
Where Durian is native you are not allowed to take it to the cinema because it stinks.
There is a particular cheese in France you are not allowed to take on public transport for the same reason.
Forgot its name but a french friend had some when we visited. We thought he had something rotting in his bin but it was the cheese in the fridge, wrapped in paper, rolled up in clingfilm and stuck in an airtight plastic food container. I nearly fainted when I opened the fridge...
I love durian
German food is some of the best food I've ever had. You should do a video on German people tasting Irish food
"I feel like I went 'I love German food'... and you went 'Hahaha we'll change that'" LOL
THATS GERMAN ENGINEERING :-) .....BY THE WAY BREZEL TASTES GREAT WITH BUTTER
As does any bread :)
passive aggressivley implying that pretzel doesn't taste good, nice try olivia
AND BEER !!!!!!!
Schnitzel and Apfelstrudel are actually traditional Viennese dishes
Bratwurst, pickles, sauerkraut, and *two kinds* of mustard? Fuck yeah!
Love the Red Head cracking her knuckles
Thumbs up for Braithlin performing a sexual act on that pretzel with her tongue. I would have done the same!
so a schnitzel is basically just breaded meat? Like tonkatsu (japanese) or milanesa (argentinian)?
yeah I'd say so ( i am german, hi :) )maybe there is a difference in "how" it is prepared, and i know for sure that the breadcrumbs we use are different. But the idea is very much the same, yes :)
We usually use beef and you slam it with a wooden spoon until its very flat, then put it in flour, egg, and then bread crumbs and put it in the pan until golden brown :D
wrong! germans don't usually use beef - they use pork or chicken, although the traditional austrian way is with veal. (Bin auch deutsche, und habe echt noch nie in meinem Leben ein paniertes Rinderschnitzel gesehen oder gegessen.)
Alexa Monsch Dude...no one is ever wrong. Because you would be WRONG. traditionally is the veal...whats a grown up veal? it BEEF, i just didn't use the correct name. Using chicken is disgusting with all the chemicals and a really poor manner. The TRADITIONAL schnitzel is veal. Herzlichen Glückwunsch doch nicht recht gehabt.
yeah ''dude'' but veal and beef is just not the same thing and that's why I corrected you. Komm mal runter.
Alexa Monsch bruh beef is cow meat and veal comes from baby cows, thats like saying ice isn't water because it's frozen. apparently baby cow's aren't cows in your world. does that mean baby chickens are now actually ducks?
Schnitzel makes me think of "Hoodwinked", love that movie!
Hauptsache ich warte immer noch auf ein Video wo endlich Stollen probiert wird. Ich liebe Stollen so sehr ich hasse es, dass es den nur zur Weihnachtszeit gibt
Spanish food!
Portuguese
That not a real bretzel....

Brez'n. Best with butter.
You have to try Dampfnudel with Marmalade and Custard!!! I love it❤️😋
cant wait to see the Spanish food episode!!!
Are you guys not familiar with soft pretzels? 😧
are you not familiar with soft pretzels.
I know. Those are about as distinctly German as I am... and my family hasn't lived in Europe in about 300 years.
Any ways, I eat all these on a daily basis, though my family moved from Germany in ww2.
Om nomnom with a really nice intense mustard.
