That bronze ring you put over the front pulley is actually so the belt doesn't wear on the spinning pulley, The brass just sits there and doesn't spin while the pulley shaft is spinning, It keeps your belt from wearing in 1 spot while you're idling.
I guess none you DIY remember flipping rings , forgetting to put oil plug until you see oil running Down the driveway or putting a pistons backwards. I've done it all and I can't say it was 2AM or after a few "BEERS". So to all Dad trying to show their sons not to be afraid of getting dirty or be the 25yo millennial standing by his car wringing his hands hoping a savior will stop. Good job ! Bro. Been there done that.
Sorry to say buddy but those guys are totally right about the spacer and the belt... Its all good tho, trial and error is how you learn... The pulleys absolutely MUST be in alignment and the belt MUST be put on in the right direction.
I just bought the exact same rig, as a basket case. The 4 ribbed spacer is missing except for 1/2"at the outside end. The bronze bushing is also missing and the springs surrounding the 2 "shoes". Do these items sell in parts kits?
Technically no, thats why there is 6 holes on each "corner", though the top 3 and the bottom 3 are for diffrent engine sized mounting holes And technically you CAN have it to the left over the right hand side (as he had it), but you likely will run into chain clearance issues due to the fins on the mounting plate. Hard to explain, but...yeah. If you put the chain on going horizontal to the left more (or the chain going straight up), then it wouldnt have issues, but....what are you doing that the chain will be like that?
ua-cam.com/video/k0lO22tsPsE/v-deo.html Here is a link to a video that you can see how he grinded those fins away to allow it to go that way it, in case you havent found it
There are multiple bolt patterns you can use. Can you face the sprocket pulley to the front of the engine? If not grinding might be useful. Raising the engine monting plate up is also an option.
Desirey & Taylor Channel do you boo, if it doesn’t fit up don’t come to me boss.. make sure when you order it it’s meant for the shaft size of the 79cc engine. I’ve never really seen tourqe converters on 79cc ones mainly on the fact that there made for 212’s... also make sure you have the bolt mounting patterns on your engine! As well it wouldn’t hurt to buy a extra belt.

Good, honest video!
Holy crap dude, I cant believe you ever got it together. Wow.
Awesome. If I ever want to completely screw up a torque converter install on one of my engines, I will be sure and watch this video.
Looks like the belt was on backwards at the end. It is asymmetrical. One side beveled and the other at 90 degrees. Flat side goes towards the motor.
I appreciate you showing all the errors as well. Good vid.

This guy makes amazing videos. He's like the Bob Ross of mechanical videos.
He put the whole thing on wrong bro
except done 100% incorrectly.

There's alot of great content on youtube, and then there's this. You've done a disservice to all interested parties by uploading to youtube.
6:32 - how did you tighten the crank bolt without holding the engine from spinning?
Use blue thread lock on the bolts. The vibration will work them out.
Just got mine . Install tomorrow.
Don't listen to this guy he forgot a couple parts go to red beards garage
Belts on backwards !

You didn't have tje spacers on the back pull .it will grind the housing..and the belt has a tapered side for the pully
Thank you for the video you probably saved me a headache when I get my torque converter, lol. Well how did it work out, what did you put it on?
GOOD VIDEO WE all make mistakes am I right or left.
Right
Where can I get torque converter and clutch kit and how much
Like looking up instructions on youtube...nice!
Man, you can't put a square hole in a round peg !
You’re a silly guy bud, why’d you not look it up first! 😂
"I don't know how, but let me make a video about how I think"
Do you have to install it in that orientation? Or can you have the torque converter pointing down or the opposite way?

I have a predator motor I measured the belt 6 and 3/4 what size belt is that
It really pisses me off that he is bolting the bolts at a Square pattern and not an x pattern
very helpful, thanks....
He put it on wrong go over to red beards garage
Why they don’t supply stud vs the bolt to mount it on? That engine vib a lot
Il buy the one inch
Could’ve used a shaft adapter I use this converter on my 79cc
Is there any way to mount the torque converter horizontal I cannot lift the engine one inch. Maybe a little grinding and drill new holes?
There are multiple bolt patterns you can use. Can you face the sprocket pulley to the front of the engine? If not grinding might be useful. Raising the engine monting plate up is also an option.

You can put the complete driver on as 1 peice instead of multiple peices just so you know man.
Will this work on 79cc predator engine?

The bolts that came with my torque converter won't work on my 212 Predator, wrongs threads...
The correct threads are 5/16-24 ... 1 inch long... I just had that problem lol
Buenos días mi estimado cuanto cuesta ese variador de velocidad gracias
U should have that metal spacer
It’s bad enough he doesn’t have any idea what he’s doing but he has a video showing what not to do.
What's the brass bushing do?mine got turned to dust is it important?
I believe the brass bushing helps with letting the belt slip at idle speeds. If your bushing is warn out how did your belt look?
Yea the bushing makes the belt not wear so fast
And don't listen to him he put it on qr9ng go to red beards garage
Why is the belt already tight and the engine isn’t even running? That’s not going to work well at idle
I wishigot comet because amazon converter sucks ,it locked up rear wheels at 45mph
Is a 30 series torque converter too small for a 301 predator
Jason May no but anything over that you would have to get a 40 series
No
