I'm a music producer and I come across a lot of artist using my beats with my vocal tags (meaning they didn't pay for the beat ) still in the song and posting on UA-cam, even sometimes distributing the song with cdbaby, tunecore etc. So most times they are making money off my music for free. So I came across this tunecore publishing and it says "youtube composition royalties". Does that mean if I, example, publish "beat 1" through tunecore publishing administration, will they act like UA-cam content ID and find whoever is using my "beat 1" and collect my royalties? Hopefully you can answer this. Thanks.
Abel Beats That’s precisely what TuneCore Publishing Administration does. The video would be flagged and taken down and/or the original owner “You” would receive all future royalties derived from video.

One plus is. I had a situations where artist register song with my beat without my permission and UA-cam videos on my channel get claims. Need to beat the game. Thanks God all of them was really solid persons and removed the track when i asked. :)

Hey TJ sup bro! I never used CD Baby PRO or TuneCore Publishing. I’m currently on SongTrust. You said that SongTrust pats 100% but even after we pay $100 registration fee.. I believe SongTrust still takes 15%... I could be wrong though... I hate paying $10 for Ten additional songs on SongTrust! I may have to jump to TuneCore Publishing bro! Thanks TJ!

Thanks for this info man! Question: I just checked my ASCAP registered works and it says that Tunecore owns 50% publishing on my album songs and 37.5% on some songs...This seems incorrect. Or does that just mean that they are collecting the publishing and paying me after it is processed? Im confused with this as i know publishing is super important to own...Please let me know if you have insight on this. Thabnks man

I'm thinking about releasing a single through Cdbaby. They offer something called CdBaby Pro which offers publishing. I understand that CdBaby uses SongTrust. Should I not sign up for CdBaby's publishing and just sign up with SongTrust?

peace bro i havent been on BMI in over 7years i am now making beats again so when i logged in my account i noticed tunecore published 4 works of mine and i dont know how that happen, do you know what possibly.happened and since they did publish my works am i part.of tunecore i dont remember joining them

Sync is a part of publishing administration and it’s a 1 time fee.

they can, i always suggest people sign up with a society first. BMI issues free writers accounts

I am splitting royalties with a producer where we do 50/50 split, where I sing and get 100% Lyrics and he gets 100% Music. I cannot use youtube content ID because the beat I am using is a lease and others could be potentially using it on youtube as well. My question is, if I do this service, will this essentially activate content ID on youtube videos and put others at risk for copy-write? I don't want to disturb any other artists using the beat as well. Also when it comes to sync licensing, I'm ok with them pitching it in some libraries and taking the % off the top, but if I create a seperate opportunity on my own for getting my music onto a film/commercial/whatever, will I run into any issues with tunecore trying to swoop the % because I released the song through them and have this publishing administration running?
Hi! I see you posted this video 5 years ago. So you have some perspective today. If I choose Tune Core, it would be only for the sync placement service. Would you happen to have any feedback on this specific service? Are they effective, have you ever had a sync placement?
I’ve just recently allowed them access to my catalog. Like any service with thousands of clients and probably 100x the songs, I would not rely on them to be the sole sync agent.

what are you talking about? this video is about publishing administration. do you want tunecore to distribute your music? They can still distribute your music without you having a spotify account…because spotify creates an artist account for you.
As a Producer i need advice. I want to start shopping beats around (via youtube/website/face to face sale) do i need to first go to copyright.gov register the “beat” (instrumental), then take it to BMI register the beat and then to tune core and register the beat? Do i need to BMI/tunecore the beat itself before someone raps on it or buys it? Or do i need to hold off on tunecore and BMI until it actually releases as a song?

Hi. How much does TUNECORE pay per view/stream of each individual you have? I was told by a TuneCore rep today that you get paid for each stream of your video, but how much is that? How much money would I receive for a video with 40,000 views which is almost the case for one of my videos. It’s getting very close to 40,000 views. It also has ads by big companies on it all the time including amazon. I’m nit yet monetised by UA-cam, but yet I have these big ads on this particular video. I’m getting close to UA-cam monetisation, but this particular video has ads of all different kinds on it already. Thanks

Some distributors have publishing (CD Baby/Tunecore) ...at Tunecore it can be combined with your upload process. Bottom line is you give them the info...

Should I be using both BMI and then Tunecore as well. Can you even really do that? I've heard from some that BMI collect royalties for you In certain areas and that tunecore picks up the royalties that BMI may have missed?

I did get the general gist from the video but I just wanted to make sure. Luckily I do use Tunecore and so far I’m happy with the way they handle things. Although I have heard some her Renda‘s stories about monetizing through Facebook or UA-cam which so far I’ve decided not to do at this moment. Something about TuneCore claiming copyright over your material??? So there has been a little hesitation on my part there. Great channel with some great information I truly appreciate it.

When signing up for tunecore is it still important to sign up for song trust and ascap?
Songtrust Pub Admin does the same thing that Tunecore admin does so don't register for both. Do sign up for ASCAP before doing Tunecore Pub Admin if you prefer ASCAP. Otherwise they will automatically sign you up with BMI.
