Just for an update the CompTIA exams are now automated. No need to even send results to WGU anymore. Any CompTIA test taken will update with WGU automatically in a matter of a few days.
The problem must be with LNI. It took 10 days for my Linux+ exam results to update after I submitted them. No other exam took that long, most were applied in 2 or 3 days. The longest it took for any other exam to update was the for one of the CompTIA exams which took 5 days to post. My mentor mentioned possible delays to posting exam results were things like the end of month rush when everyone is trying to finish courses before the term ended. That wouldn't apply to you in this case though, so I again think its on LNI's end with this one. My experience with automating processes is that there's usually people who get in the way of creating simple technical solutions. Two areas where my team has tried to get API access to other teams systems were blocked because of a manager didn't like the idea. That was within the same company!
I haven't gone through this yet in my program, but I wonder if the same team validating current students' certs also validate incoming students' certs? I've a feeling you're right about the team being small for the number of students waiting for validation. The 1st two weeks are a bit slower for a number of requests/services, probably partly due to the new term start and incoming/graduating students. Would your employer accept a letter from your mentor, etc. validating that you've completed the program & are awaiting the finalized paperwork? Perhaps that could sub so you can receive your reimbursement. Waiting for the validation *is* a big deal & I can't imagine your frustration. You're taking it in pretty good stride & fingers crossed you hear something by end of week!
I've always wondered that myself. There is nothing really to grade. It should be a fast checkbox being clicked as soon as the cert verification is sent. Should be easy pessy you would think. Absolutely understand your frustration. Have taken two external certs myself at this point and the first took a solid week or more to show and just submitted another one yesterday. I also find the process odd and slow. It's a verification check. Not like they are grading any work. Two or so business days to me seems much more reasonable.
I know you just finished but based on how well you did overall do you have any plans for pursuing a masters after this? If so do you think there would be a benefit to looking at other schools to vary your education history?
That's a great question and one I have thought long and hard about. I spoke to a few hiring managers at my company and they felt have two degrees from the same school is fine. One said, all they look at was the most recent/highest level degree,

in 2019/early 2020 it was way faster. This whole thing of taking forever is new.
Hopefully it will go back to the way it was then. Maybe they had a staff shortage because of the pandemic or something.
