The Brooklyn Standard snare looks interesting...$500 US.

I have the Catalina Special Edition (22/12/14/16 w/14x6.5 snare). Not impressed.

What’s the reason, as a matter of interest.
The videos look good, but aren’t always true to the real product..

@@roybeckerman9253 They sound and look good for budget drums, but the hardware is poorly made. For example, the brackets on the floor toms for legs and on the rack tom for inserting the L-rod tom mount require a lot of jiggling to insert. For gigging that adds setup and teardown time and effort. If the kit is for a rehearsal space then that it not really an issue because it's set up once and left in place., Another issue is the tom post in the bass drum is way forward towards the resonant side, which makes positioning the rack tom close where I (and some other drummers) prefer is nearly impossible, That is a matter of ergonomics. Also own an older Catalina club jazz kit in 18/12/14 sizes and it is a far more realistic gigging kit that has a vastly superior tom mounting system, One final thing - the so called "gas cap" plate on the Special Edition's bass drum is not only ugly, it destroys the natural resonance in what would otherwise be a better bass drum. Again, the way the older Catalina Club kits were designed and constructed is superior in my opinion. Hence, I am not impressed.,
