Simple doesn't equal bad. That's what a lot of people don't get about music. Lofi is such a special genre because the silence let's you hear what's in your head. That's what I think anyway. I swear to high I'm not god.

Fataak! Videos It's not off beat, it's just not a standard 4/4 rhythm with hits on down beats that commonly used. The snare hits on upbeats and I think there is a dotted eighth with a sixteenth in there.

if you're actually interested in learning how to make a beat lofi, cut out highs and lows in your EQ until all of what you have is muddy mids, then you soak it in effects like pitch drifting, phasers, envelopes, and etc. Don't forget to add in a tape emulator if you like that hiss noise.

Hey man. Here's some links to a few good VSTs for emulating a tape noise.
www.izotope.com/en/products/create-and-design/vinyl.html - Izotope is great for lofi in general
www.toneboosters.com/tb-ferox/ - Ferox is good for emulating that old tape sound, but other tools will be needed for that hiss noise, or you can just grab some hiss sounds and place them in your DAW
www.g-sonique.com/fat+.html - FAT+ is great for vacuum tube tape sounds, but the full version does cost money

That explanation of lofi and the low fidelity, and played on those words of having a low amount of fidelity(being faithful to a partner). The point further illustrated by getting inspiration from a low fidelity cassette tape(cheating). Also the first sample we're introduced to is a guy telling a girl that he cheated on her. And the name of the track is low fidelity.
I know it plays into the whole joke you're doing for the vid which was pretty clever, but I really appreciate the layers to it.

Try forgetting it's next anniversary then wait 2-5 months after that wait for any suspicious activity, if there is none you must get a new cassette, after you find some suspicious activity come home to work early and hopefully that solves it
