Great tutorial, but missing some really helpful workflow, here's two real time savers I use on every project: - Instead of stamping the scale you want onto a sampler channel, configure your scale highlighting so that it shows the same scale on every piano roll in the project, regardless of whether or not they're in the same pattern. To do this go to Piano Roll, click the right arrow to the left of the wrench icon, select View > (make sure Note Grid Highlights is checked) Scale Highlighting > Select your Root Note with right click > Select your scale type. - Instead of cutting + pasting all the channels manually from Pattern 1 into their own individual patterns all you have to do is right click on Pattern 1 (or any pattern) in the Picker on the left and select the option Split by Channel. Depending on how many channels you have in one pattern, this could save you a lot of repetitive work and let you just straight into arranging your beat.
Thanks this is super helpful! I learned the stamp and just assumed that was all there was but this way is 100 times easier. Going to pin this so it helps more people.
Hi everyone! I wanted to make the kind of tutorial that's not intimidating or filled with music theory, but at the same time covers every part of making lofi. I think this is the easiest way and requires very little knowledge or samples. It's longer than I thought so chapters are listed in the description! Hope this helps you!
13:45 You can actually right click on where it says, “Pattern X” on the top bar and then click “Split by channel”. It automatically splits all of the channels into different patterns. (I use it a LOT).
Man! For a musician that feels stuck and knows a bunch of theory, the 3 minutes of this video between 0:31 and 3:47 is GOLD! The whole video is really great... but those were the best 3 minutes of musical education that I've seen in years.
Honestly the best tutorial I've seen cuz geez. Everything I see on youtube is them just saying "Yeah add a beat and something" and just makes it without suggesting stuff or explaining how you just "make" something
man you're so good at teaching. Most of the producers on youtube start showing off their skills instead of teaching people in a basic level and that's what pisses me off. It's like if you want to learn a new bike trick and person teaching you the trick starts to show off the trick instead of teaching you the trick. But you keep it simple and really want to teach others
Great tutorial. Really puts everything simply and understandably, rather than other tutorials that apparently expect people to have already studied music theory for like 8 years.
You can also hover over the pattern in the list and either drag it into the arrangement screen or you can right click and click “separate by channel” and it’ll separate the patterns for you to drag into the project screen. And then when you’re in the channel rack you can assign each sound to whatever specific channel you want.
finally the language I understand. All other people in the different tutorials seem to speak English, yet I struggle to understand the words that they're saying...
GREAT tutorial for once i was able to understand in a very simple way usually other youtubers would just skip over some very small parts that beginners may not know but you did not do that i would love more tutorials from you like this one
Awesome video! Can’t believe it took me this long to find this. Probably the most in-depth and intuitive lofi tutorial I’ve come across. Perfect for someone like me who is just getting started with FL Studio. Thanks for the great tips!
This video helped me make my first complete song in Fl Studio. It helped get me off the ground by building confidence that I can truly make a whole song by myself! Thank you so much my friend!!!
Hey just to tell you that you can separate all the patterns by hovering your mouse over the main pattern, right click, and press split by channel, way faster, good video 💪🔥
Thank you so much!! I’ve never been able to produce due to self-expectations and perfectionism, and this helped tremendously. Love you so much, hope you’re doing good!!❤️❤️
Wow this is actually awesome, I've seen so many lofi tutorials and this is the best one I've ever seen! One thing tho: what about the foley? When I listen to Lofi girl and all her top songs, there's always so much foley which enhances the song so much, and tbh it kinda makes me wanna quit cuz I can't find good samples, and even if I do have good samples, I have no clue where to put them. What are your thoughts?
Hello. I have a couple of quick questions: 1) How did you create your melody/what notes did you use? I tried creating one in bandlab, and it didn't work for me 2) Which edition of FL Studio is this? Thank you so much!
Hello. In the beginning you are pressing NONE. But what if i dont have such a button in the list? And also when i put there sampler it doesnt make sound in piano roll.
Very good Video man, really fun to make, i had something actually not to bad sounding, then i accidently clicked on some shit FL Froze and everything is gone, motivation to do shit in FL hit rockbottom real fast

I want to make lofi . I like the fl studio program but I don’t have a pc. This video only works if I am able to use the same program that you are. If I have a iPad what and how could I do it on there

Thank you so much! That means a lot coming from someone who knows a lot of theory

This has to be the greatest Lofi tutorial of all time. Wow, thank you man.🙏🏾

putting me on for free like this feels like robbery. GOAT
i’m tripping that this came out two years ago, this video alone upped my production game.
why youtube not recommending you!! you're the best!
you actually taught everyone some music theory; you just did it in an accessible way. wtg!
you can seperate the pattern by simply clicking " split by channel " on the pattern or google " where is split by channel "
In the playlist right click the pattern and select split by channel to separate everything at once
Awesome video! Can’t believe it took me this long to find this. Probably the most in-depth and intuitive lofi tutorial I’ve come across. Perfect for someone like me who is just getting started with FL Studio. Thanks for the great tips!

This was solid AF but if I was a complete noob I might be a little confused with how quick you ran through things, either way thanks for the help!!
This video is awesome, loving the chill vibes!!🎉

I want to get better with fl studio because i just started trying to really make music. It’s complicated but this videos really helpful :D
Ive never seen anyone copy paste the entire scale.
What a lazy genius.
I clicked on the thumbs up for every time you reminded me that there's no need for music theory!
For some reason stamp only gives three notes not doing at all what happened in the video.
God Tier of simple tutorials!!!! Bruh I appreciate you so much!
Clutch clutch!
Fantastic tutorial , the best i've seen i use Bitwig but that was no problem Thx hope you'll make more like this !!!
I appreciate u I have no mashed in all my knowledge into this beat I have made and I would say I have made a master piece ( prolly not but shh)
When I click snap, major is just straight up not showing up in my melodic scales
