I went natural in 2014, and locking my hair has been in the back of my mind since 2015. I decided long ago that I was going to loc my hair. It was just a matter of getting to a point I felt I was ready to make the commitment. I started a set back in March 2019, but I wasn't happy with the size and the parting. I also realized that I wasn't really ready, so I took them down. I just finished installing my second set of starter locs a few days, and I got them exactly the way I want them. I'm definitely sticking with it this time.

Locs look different on different types/textures of hair. Your locs work so well. They look thick, they look uniform, and they look so good on you!

You’re the last video series I watched before I decided to Loc my hair in April 18th 2021!!! I have been natural since 2007. Have cut dyed and down it all TWA to Fro. I’m 51 and have wanted Locs for over 30 years but my fam friends and ex hubby weren’t having it and distracted me from my hearts desire... I went all in and am so thankful! Girl!!!!! U speaking my heart!!! I went natural back in 2009 cause I wanted locs but I fell in love with my afro and bleach. I did my own locs back in 2018 ( grab and twist, semi free-form) wasn't feeling cute so I combed them out at my 1 year mark. Now all I wear is a puff. I want micro locs but scared of not liking it and having to chop my hair off

Your locks are absolutely beautiful Keke! I started my microlock journey 6 months ago with 150 locks and 6 months later decided to resize some. Tedious taking the few down but now have 165...im satisfied now

I got interlocks as well Feb 1, 2021 and I love them more and more every day. They are very versatile and I wanted something smaller as well, as I traditionally locked my hair twice before these and took them gith out like you lol. Thanks for representing us interlocked girls, a lot of people don't know what interlocks are and like to ask me if I have sister locks lol. Sister locks would be way too small for me and I don't like looking griddy. But when they gain hair they are very beautiful. For me interlocks are the perfect size.
Thank you for being so transparent. I used to have locks and took them down about 6 years ago. Relooking has always been on my mind and more so micro locs . I’ve been doing my research and once I get these braids out, I think I’m going to take the leap! Thanks again! Your hair is gorgeous!

Woo lawd. Sis is calling me out... Speaking directly to me. I have been natural since 2007. Tried locs 5 times. Same, commitment issues or it did not turn out the way I wanted them expect the last time when I decided to do them myself but the way my commitment is setup. Thanks for this video.
I'm waaay late to your channel but this video was so helpful to me! Thank you for keeping it real. I want to loc my hair but I'm scared lol I'm mostly concerned about if I do it myself, I don't want to damage my hair to the point of no return but I don't want to spend thousands on a pro. I want mine small for the versatility too. Like you, I don't want my scalp out in these streets lol. This just inspired me more!

Girl I literally started the loc process a few days ago because it has been on my mind to go back to locs... I had locs as a kid but when i went into foster care my foster mom cut my hair and its taken me 15 years to decide i really want to try them again. Im glad I can be on the journey with someone cause none of my friends have been understanding my need to get back to the heart of who i am and was.

Love your videos so so SO MUCH!! I've been watching your videos for a few days now. Guess what? I'm in the process of installing braidlocks right now. Whew chile!! The parting has been BEYOND a struggle but since I want those "crispy parts" I'm taking my time and enjoying the journey. My hair is so broken off. But I'm really hoping this loc journey will get it to a better place. I plan on doing a protective style over these because it's just too scraggly to wear just yet. I'll eventually share what you've inspired in me.

Wash days are the reason I’ve been loc’d for 11 years! It took HOURS! LOL! Hearing your journey was wonderful. It mirrors my own. And I am at least 10 years older than you, which just goes to show the commonality of the struggle,

Thank you for sharing your journey! This is super helpful for me because I am seriously contemplating getting microlocs. I did the big chop 2/14/15 and I love being natural and I loved having it short, mohawk, shaved sides, etc. I do like the fact that with locs, you literally have a permanent hairstyle and I love the versatility of them.

Your journey is pretty much the same as mine this is my second time going loc'd the first set I cut out because I didn't like the sizing and the parting. But I could not get Locs off my mind so I just installed my second set of micro locs with much better parting and they are smaller. So I am so very interested in seeing your journey.

I've had microlocs for about a year and a quarter and I've done everything! Twist, braids, wigs, crochet, etc! I started with 2 strand twists and have about 312 locs (started with 316 and have (4b/4c hair) and I interloc to maintain them. And for the most part its been a breeze 😌. My locs never really unraveled and I wash them regularly (every 1-4) days with no special method (I don't braid and band. I wash like I wash my loose natural hair) locs have been the best hair decision I've made so far!
Please make something with your quote "I like my crispy parts!" on it lol. I started locs with extensions on 12/24/2020 after seeing you and Kendra Kenshay post loc videos. I have been wanting them for two years so I finally did it. Love em!

Seriously I'm obsessed with your hair😍😍😍. I did traditional locs and I'm almost 7 months in. I wish I had locs like you but I already know that I wouldn't be able to maintain it, so traditional locs it is for me.
Our journeys are so similar! Lol from the constant cutting and the starting locs over due to not being statistics with parting lol I’m currently in the process of growing my hair to start locs again, hoping I can get the parting the way I want it this time!

I can’t wait for it to grow long so I can do bun styles (I miss them) and other intricate but beautiful styles

It took a few years to commit to being natural but finally did it 6 years ago. No regrets! I have been contemplating locs for a couple if years. Still debating on the type of locs I want. I'm concerned about my roots puffinf up because I sweat a lot. Any thoughts? Have you shown us wash day with your locs?

Yupp! I wanted long hair. I am very proud of my long hair. Especially since I grew it myself... but gurrrl! The 12hr shifts you ain't neva lied... so thats one reason I'm about to journey... I have done long hair. I proved that black girls can grow hair!!! Lol... straight hair and so much other stuff. I'm transitioning into me life and locs has been with me.. for awhile... and actually I'm right on track. Bcuz I ve said I wld do them about 40age bcuz I felt I wld have grown out of "I'm my hair" type of feeling...

I figured how how to work with my Lionel: wash in sections, deep condition, stretch some way. But the afro causes so many tangles, I keep it in a wash and go or some sort of twists. The afro comes out only once a year or something. 🤣 You look so cute. I remember the gentle father comment 🤣 It's oddly suitable as a description.

You can do box braids and other protective styles on your Locs. Especially sister/micro Locs! Because sister/micro Locs mimic loose natural hair.
